medium.com/@cassiebrighter/what-do-we-do-about-women-with-a-penis-70e783fb952e?

I was scrolling through the cyclepath's twitter and came across this above link. I am genuinely dumbfounded that people actually spout this rubbish. An excerpt below:

^We talked about the symbology of the penis. Jimena and I immediately agreed that penis-owners have historically hurt vagina-owners in many ways. Some of these ways have specifically included the penis as a weapon, as an instrument of harm. Some of the women in the circle could be survivors of rape or sexual assault. So it is really important to start by openly acknowledging that history, and that symbology. And by directly addressing those concerns.
The event leader can explain that, while there is an obvious similarity between a trans woman's genitals and those of a man, this person's genitals have received years of female hormones. They respond differently, they carry a different energy. While a man's penis is an object of great pride, a trans woman's member is often a source of dysphoria and shame. A man's penis swaggers and struts, conquers and acquires, penetrates. A trans gal's genitals generally carry none of this energy. Speaking in generalities, a man's sexuality is urgent and assertive, and can be invasive. A trans gal's sexuality is docile, patient, hesitant, fragile. (Note: An acquaintance asked me to emphasize I’m speaking in generalities here. You may find men who are shy, docile and/or passive with their penis. You may find trans women who are comfortable using their genitals for penetration. As with anything, YMMV — but I’m speaking from having spoken with dozens upon dozens of trans women.)^

Imagine writing that with a straight face!

What repulsive XY people trying to foist their creepy porn fantasies on women.

No decent man would behave like them.

Yuck.

BickerinBrattle · 17/12/2019 14:21

And then there’s all that extra skin around the penis — called the rest of the male body, ie a male person who grew up with male entitlement and who expresses that entitlement in a myriad ways, including claiming that the penis is now female.

It’s the ENTITLEMENT that isn’t docile, not one fucking bit, and which communicates danger to women.

Trying to think of any leading light of the activist movement who the words 'docile, patient, hesitant and fragile' would come to mind for.

Angry, aggressive, threatening, demanding and arrogant, yes, plenty of examples of that. Call me ma'am? Yes, just look at the hesitant fragility and safety right there.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/12/2019 14:13

Is there a woman on the planet who talks endlessly about her genitals. Whether her vagina is assertive or not, the fragility of her clitoris and the docility of her vulva?

At this precise moment I am a raised middle finger owner...

"While she might not refer to her genitals by the words 'penis' or 'testicles,' that’s what they are anatomically. And, though transformed by several years of female hormones, her genitals are likely to be understood as "male genitals" by most women present."

Except self ID requires no use of hormones, self ID says that if you say you are a XXXX you should be treated and have access to the same rights as a XXXX with no requirement for any form of hormone therapy or surgery and so no 'feminisation' of genitalia

Symbology

Symbolism. The word you are looking for is symbolism.

(With apologies to Willem Dafoe in The Boondock Saints)

Also, I don't own a penis, I have one. I did not buy it at a shop. Ditto women re: vaginas. So, in summary, not just crazy, but poorly-written crazy.

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 17/12/2019 13:48

That's NO from me.

A penis owner talking about how special / different / beautiful their cock is compared to others is not a new take, frankly.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 17/12/2019 13:47

Depressingly OP, virtually any MN thread where we discuss why biological males aren't the same as us biological women and shouldn't be in ours spaces (I know, I know, I'm treading carefully with what I say as I'm not sure what gets a bollocking these days Confused), you can guarantee a poster will pop along and compare the "struggle of the trans person" to the civil rights movement and how we should all be ashamed of ourselves. Every. Time.

Most of these posters are oddly scarce on threads such as these where the evidence is clear to see. Funny that.

YouJustDoYou · 17/12/2019 13:41

"They (penis) carry a different energy".... my face is kind of like this >>🤨😑😒. They believe that after taking hormones, the penis is no longer a penis? That it has a "different energy?". What also made me fucking angry was the "spinach in your teeth" analogy the author uses. "If I point out you have spinach in your teeth, don't get angry and defensive- say thank you and go look in a mirror". I....I literally have no words.

Actually I do, but...Not accepted by them so I'm not allowed to say them.

BoxOfBabyCheeses · 17/12/2019 13:33

I think the most offensive thing about the trans movement is when they compare themselves to black women not being allowed to share bathrooms with white women before the civil rights movement.

IT'S NOT THE SAME THING!

Clearly Karen White et al didn't get this message.

ItsNearlyMorning · 17/12/2019 13:30

Penis owners ?
Vagina owners ?
Pass the poor trans women the smelling salts.
Must be tough being such a feminine , delicate woman 🤦‍♀️
Honestly you couldn't make this shit up

TheShoesa · 17/12/2019 13:29

Careful Joan, you're veering off the 'most vulnerable and oppressed' script pointing out things like that

FGSJoanWhatsWrongWithYou · 17/12/2019 13:26

What about the superior height, upper body strength and fist size? Is that more fragile and docile too?

SarahTancredi · 17/12/2019 13:25

Right. So if we can't presume a penis is urgent and assertive, how do we work out which penises are the hesitant and fragile ones? Guessing the docile penises don't rape, is that right?

Well I guess this is another way, alongside constantly talking about, references to , clothing that "frames" , public adjusting, manspreading to ensure we know all about it, that they ensure we have to look at and acknowledge their dicks...

ScrimshawTheSecond · 17/12/2019 13:22

FGSJoanWhatsWrongWithYou · 17/12/2019 13:20

This man who has invaded your space has a different energy from other men who aren't here. Yep. That's true.

eurochick · 17/12/2019 13:20

When I read this stuff that Catherine Tate nana character always pops into my head for some reason. What was her tag line again? Oh yes. "What a load of old shit"

MarianaMoatedGrange · 17/12/2019 13:18

Let us all acknowledge and praise the fragile dick - especially when it's in our spaces.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 17/12/2019 13:14

Yeah. No. This doesn't imply what they want it to imply. Fragility and shame, when exhibited by males, can be absolutely terrifying
