medium.com/@cassiebrighter/what-do-we-do-about-women-with-a-penis-70e783fb952e?

I was scrolling through the cyclepath's twitter and came across this above link. I am genuinely dumbfounded that people actually spout this rubbish. An excerpt below:

^We talked about the symbology of the penis. Jimena and I immediately agreed that penis-owners have historically hurt vagina-owners in many ways. Some of these ways have specifically included the penis as a weapon, as an instrument of harm. Some of the women in the circle could be survivors of rape or sexual assault. So it is really important to start by openly acknowledging that history, and that symbology. And by directly addressing those concerns.
The event leader can explain that, while there is an obvious similarity between a trans woman's genitals and those of a man, this person's genitals have received years of female hormones. They respond differently, they carry a different energy. While a man's penis is an object of great pride, a trans woman's member is often a source of dysphoria and shame. A man's penis swaggers and struts, conquers and acquires, penetrates. A trans gal's genitals generally carry none of this energy. Speaking in generalities, a man's sexuality is urgent and assertive, and can be invasive. A trans gal's sexuality is docile, patient, hesitant, fragile. (Note: An acquaintance asked me to emphasize I’m speaking in generalities here. You may find men who are shy, docile and/or passive with their penis. You may find trans women who are comfortable using their genitals for penetration. As with anything, YMMV — but I’m speaking from having spoken with dozens upon dozens of trans women.)^

Actually it's not just penises, somehow transwomen writing about sex manage to make every single thing to do with sex sound terrible. I have to stop reading and reach for my own memories in order to recollect that sex is good actually. There's something about the mindset that's a massive turn-off.

Watching/listening to people talk in graphic detail about fetishes you don't share is always more awkward than arousing. Note that "awkward" is my being very, very nice and rule compliant.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 17/12/2019 21:33

I wonder if the author will turn up again. If so - look, mate, we still don't care how shy, fragile, or hesitant your penis is. Still don't want it in spaces where we're going to get undressed.

Also, is there anything more male than assigning an entire personality complete with emotions and independent behavior to your penis?

ScrimshawTheSecond · 17/12/2019 20:49

’Tis but thy name that is my enemy:
Thou art thyself, though not a woman,
What’s woman? It is not hand nor foot,
Nor arm nor face. O be some other name,
belonging to a man!
What’s in a name? That which we call a rose,
By any other word would smell as sweet.'

RuffleCrow · 17/12/2019 20:39

Q.What is a girldick?!

A. Any woman stupid enough to want to give up female spaces to erm... male people Grin

HermioneWeasley · 17/12/2019 20:25

Keep your fragile, shy dicks out of women’s spaces

JanesKettle · 17/12/2019 20:22

A penis is a penis is a penis.

And signifies maleness.

Woman is not 'man with a limp dick'.

Only a man would spend so much time thinking about, and writing about his dick.

The narcissism...

SunsetBeetch · 17/12/2019 20:20

It reminds me of this classic : What is girldick?

"But here’s where things get messy. Some trans women are definitely trans women but, through happenstance, have not started HRT. Thus, on a molecular level, their penises are similar to the penises of your average man. So are their penises also “girldicks”?
It looks then that the term “girldick” is ambiguous between two different concepts. On the one hand it refers to the “feminine penis”. Such a penis can be different from the “masculine penis” in the following ways:
Smells better (less musky)
Smaller (it often atrophies)
Change in coloration
Softer in texture (different mouthfeel)
Often doesn’t ejaculate, or, if it does, the ejaculate is clear
More difficult to achieve an erection (which can actually be painful)
Little to no spontaneous erections
Less aroused by visual stimuli
And thus, the feminine penis post-HRT is truly a girldick."

Why do trans women love to compare themselves with black women as if black women are not really women? How can they not see that it is an offensive thing to say/write? Do the idiots really think that white women agree with them? How stupid can they be? So many trans women are so bloody misogynistic and racist it makes my blood boil.

RuffleCrow · 17/12/2019 20:05

These articles are panic attack inducing. I think they're supposed to be.

ThePurported · 17/12/2019 19:55

Christ alive. Is it just a very long-winded way of saying that erectile dysfunction is common among 'trans gals'?

CatInTheDaytime · 17/12/2019 19:54

Excellently skewered prion. There's a lot of competition for the most offensive thing about the trans movement, but the whole way they use black women in their arguments really fucks me off too.

I have seen it regularly claimed and promulgated on Twitter that TERFS don't accept black women as feminists. WTAF it had never even occurred to me that there was any difference between a black and a non-black feminist (apart from their different experiences of race obviously and possibly but not necessarily different cultures). And there are many radical black feminists. Really what are they on about?

CatInTheDaytime · 17/12/2019 19:48

Actually it's not just penises, somehow transwomen writing about sex manage to make every single thing to do with sex sound terrible.

Totally agree. It gives me the same icky feeling I get from porn-style descriptions, and seems to come from a similar warped concept of women and sex. Oddly enough! Hmm again!

AnyOldPrion · 17/12/2019 19:41

I think the most offensive thing about the trans movement is when they compare themselves to black women not being allowed to share bathrooms with white women before the civil rights movement.

I’ve taken to pointing out that when racial segregation was removed, black and white people shared the same spaces.

The current segregation is male/female, so the equivalent action would be to remove segregation and have mixed sex spaces.

What is happening with the trans narrative is that a few members of the oppressor group are demanding access to the opposite space. The equivalent would be if a small group of white people claimed they were black and demanded access to the spaces black people used, even if that action would cause distress to some of the people who used that space.

bd67th · 17/12/2019 19:41

Also, the idea that a women's sexuality workshop, that may be attended by rape victims trying to reclaim their sexuality and bodies in a female-only space, should even consider admitting a penis owner makes me rage and feel sick simultaneously.

The arrogance and narcissistic selfishness needed for a male to try to attend such a workshop and defend h** attendance is breathtaking.

In the absence of transwomen being diagnosed with "ladybrain" by MRI scan, I remind readers that every single one of them is self-diagnosing with "ladybrain". Psychiatric assessment doesn't prove brain structure.

bd67th · 17/12/2019 19:28

this person's genitals have received years of female hormones. They respond differently, they carry a different energy.

This is utter woo. Genitals carrying an "energy" is out there with "auras", "souls", and other such magical thinking. Law and policy should no more be based on this than on a belief in fairies.

DerryGirl1212 · 17/12/2019 18:16

How do they make ALL penises sound horrible and unappealing? It's not just the ladypeens I want nothing to do with, the swaggering strutting peenor also sounds obnoxious as hell. it probably wears a little cowboy hat.

Actually it's not just penises, somehow transwomen writing about sex manage to make every single thing to do with sex sound terrible. I have to stop reading and reach for my own memories in order to recollect that sex is good actually. There's something about the mindset that's a massive turn-off.

CatInTheDaytime · 17/12/2019 17:32

I'm also disproportionately annoyed by "trans gal" Angry

Oh yes because I won't ever find any trans women threatening or invasive as long as you use a cutesy diminutive term that implies they they are rootin-tootin/hockey-stick-waving teenagers. Hmm Fuck off!

MIdgebabe · 17/12/2019 16:59

But facts don't back the premise. Or there would be fewer transwomen sex offenders.

FWRLurker · 17/12/2019 16:28

a man's penis swaggers and struts, conquers and acquires, penetrates.

Hello toxic masculine stereotypes!

Why do they believe everyone shares their shitty regressive ideas about sex and gender??????

Findwen · 17/12/2019 16:07

Help... please god help me....

I've been testing my penis and it gives off no energy at all. I've spent all afternoon trying to charge my phone with it...and just nothing.

Is it dead ? Sad

CatInTheDaytime · 17/12/2019 15:13

Oh grrrrrr! Again it's that endless centring of the fucking male self, genitals, POV and generally everything.

What if the point isn't how your precious penis behaves and feels, but how women feel about having a man in their protected space? Maybe a woman who's been raped or abused, a woman who's scared and confused, a woman whose culture/beliefs say a man shouldn't watch her get changed, a woman who senses a man and feels threatened?

Before all this shit, you wouldn't allow a man in a woman's prison or hospital ward because he's a man, and therefore quite reasonably excluded - not on the basis of his penis's personality. Arrgh

StrangeLookingParasite · 17/12/2019 15:10

They respond differently, they carry a different energy.

Oh do they.

gingertom · 17/12/2019 15:04

Op

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 17/12/2019 14:49

I'll be frank. If XY people want me to think they aren't creepy weirdos that are best avoided like the plague talking endlessly, or at all really, about their genitals is not the way to go about it.

That's XY people generally regardless of any unsubstantiated beliefs they may hold, not aimed at any particular subcategory of XY people.

terryleather · 17/12/2019 14:43

Oh gawd not this old chestnut again...for some reason the description of the special lady peen always puts me in mind of a naked mole-rat, no idea why...
