Rachel Rooney accused of peddling "terrorist propaganda"

If you search Amazon by ISBN, it will bring up the book but says it is currently unavailable. However, in the past when I have found something on Amazon that is "currently unavailable" it usually says something like "we don't know if or when this will become available". That message is missing from the page for My Body Is Me, which makes me think that it is a decision for it to be unavailable, rather than a stock issue. You can leave a review though: link

Rachel Rooney is a fantastic educator, she came to my school to share her poetry and deliver one of the most dynamic poetry writing workshops I have seen in 25 years of teaching; we continue to use her work as a starting point for creative writing, and our pupils love it (waves at Rachel if she's reading).
Off to order a set of books!

Those of you who have read it could leave reviews on Amazon smile maybe that would encourage them to get stock/ be useful to people looking it up.

For a book to be sold on Amazon the author or publisher has to deliberately place it there. However, I just checked and it is possible to leave a review even though the book is not sold there. Here's the link: you just go to the Product Details segment and you can review it under the ISBN.

Amazon very rarely censors controversial books. Lots of books aren't placed on Amazon for various reasons, not the least of which is wanting not to pay the retailer commission. Some people actively boycott Amazon.

I want to write to Rachel to thank her for doing the book. Would through per agent be the best approach?

A girl close to us has had a double mastectomy and started on testosterone. I do feel slightly sick at the thought of her starting to realise what she has lost. I absolutely get the urge to shield her from seeing other viewpoints now it’s too late.

The book is just lovely. Nothing remotely anti-trans in it, it isn't even mentioned.

Except people who actually believe it dont feel the need to actively threaten people who dont. They go about their day safe in the knowledge they are doing the right thing for their family.

What choice do these parents have - once you have gone down this path you can't afford to have any doubts - if you do then you have to start considering that you may have assisted or even encouraged your child to completely fuck themselves up. How are some of these parents going to feel if their child desists in ten years time with their body infertile and irreversibly altered.

I bought a copy and found it a lovely, sweet book. You have to look hard to find the reference to Transgender Trend on the inside cupboard. As o read the book o couldn’t help thinking that if people are getting their knickers twisted at this normal, wholly inoffensive book, they need to give themselves a good talking to.

Thanks for the reminder to pick up a copy from TT. I had intended to get some of their other material so I stuck a book in my basket and a tenner donation. As an aside, I can't believe their materials are printed - I assumed (and was perfectly happy) since they were free it would be a download. I'm super impressed.

I believe this a fairly common argument amongst TRAs. I'm surprised that they are unaware that this is the same argument used by PIE, and that by inadvertently aligning their cause with PIE they do their own cause great damage.

Children don't have full bodily autonomy for good reason.

I hope transgender trend starts suing for all these defamatory slurs.
