Just thought I'd give a heads up, doesn't look like it's being promoted yet

No doubt we'll want to talk over his answers afterwards!

All I wanted him to do was to state that single-sex exemptions would not be up for debate.
It really is pathetic how little I was asking for.

I don't know what to do now. If I lived in a safe seat (for any party) I could at least spoil my vote but here that would mean I'd risk helping a Lib Dem get in.

LangCleg · 06/12/2019 13:22

Lang, I saw that. I can understand why you’re very angry.

This is what really gets me. The Labour Party has got a materialist socialist leadership - to my socialist mind, hooray! Finally! - but as soon as women come into the policy picture, materialism doesn't matter and the party adopts a bourgeois liberal agenda without a second fucking thought.

I can't even begin to describe how angry I am.

BovaryX · 06/12/2019 13:22

Hey Buzz, it’s gone! But it was definitely there because I read it. Why would it be deleted?

ThePurported · 06/12/2019 13:17

After Jo Swinson & co's car crash performances in the media in recent days, Labour could have scored some credibility points by showing that they still live in the real world, but no. Self id followed by 'debate' on EA, presumably to introduce some extra protections for certain male cohorts now that women have become difficult.

Needmoresleep · 06/12/2019 13:16

So Labour feel we need a proper and considered discussion, but Labour have already made up their minds.....

Wasnt there a consultation? Didnt lots and lots of women express their concerns? What sort of considered discussion are Labour proposing?

WTAF

BovaryX · 06/12/2019 13:15

Yes. I tried to shame him into some fucking socialism twice - mentioned Engels even - but was roundly sidestepped

Lang, I saw that. I can understand why you’re very angry. I am still struggling to understand the power and influence of this lobby group. Most people don’t know it exists yet it has colonized 3 out of 4 main parties. It’s unbelievable

GlitchStitch · 06/12/2019 13:15

Any more loud mouthed labour activists/ posters want to start guilt tripping me into voting Tory this time can fuck right off. Blame labour for throwing women under a bus and making themselves completely unelectable. It's not like they haven't been warned about this issue. Choose Bromentum over the safety of women, I'll choose Tories over you.

Sorry, very angry right now.

Lollygaggles · 06/12/2019 13:14

Well that's that then. I feel incredibly sad.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 06/12/2019 13:14

Bovary: I noticed no answer to your question about the implications of Labour’s spending policies. Didn’t expect an answer to my ? about tax, didn’t get one

Bovary, I can't see my comment in the thread at all now? Did I get deleted without even my username header remaining or something?

OvaHere · 06/12/2019 13:12

I think as Lang pointed out it's all 'after the revolution stuff'.

BovaryX · 06/12/2019 13:11

But as ever women will be thrown under the bus in pursuit of other goals (whatever they may be)

Ova, your post was very eloquent but if he actually doesn’t believe this BS and is pushing it anyway? What precisely are Labour’s motives? I have got to be honest I can’t stand them. But the influence of this secretive lobby is very disturbing.

Angryresister · 06/12/2019 13:07

I meant to say spoiling not polling! Was getting close to voting for them...feeling extremely angry

OvaHere · 06/12/2019 13:07

Ova just made this eloquent post. Isn’t John McDonnell on the dialectical materialism wing? The power analysis on this issue seems bizarrely skewed and regressive....

What I find sad is that I have good reason to think he doesn't really believe what he is saying and understands class/materialism/power analysis perfectly well.

But as ever women will be thrown under the bus in pursuit of other goals (whatever they may be).

LangCleg · 06/12/2019 13:07

Isn’t John McDonnell on the dialectical materialism wing?

Yes. I tried to shame him into some fucking socialism twice - mentioned Engels even - but was roundly sidestepped.

"After the revolution, love" seems to be the tack. He thinks he needs the Woke liberal LARPers (the revolution will be merchandised) more than he needs us. He can FTFOTTFSOF.

LangCleg · 06/12/2019 13:04

Not even wobbling now. Spoiled ballot.

That manifesto counts for SHIT. Ruth Serwotka! Come collect your massive fucking disappointment. We don't want him.

Am absolutely fuming.

BovaryX · 06/12/2019 13:03

John, women fought for sex based rights for a long time. We've only really had most of them for about the last 50 years. You seem to be suggesting on the basis that some males now want to make a land grab for those rights that women should lose most, if not all of them.

Ova just made this eloquent post. Isn’t John McDonnell on the dialectical materialism wing? The power analysis on this issue seems bizarrely skewed and regressive....

BovaryX · 06/12/2019 12:58

They can get to fuck and I feel quite justified in saying they will have brought this result on themselves

Looks like they have been completely colonized by the lobby group. I noticed no answer to your question about the implications of Labour’s spending policies. Didn’t expect an answer to my ? about tax, didn’t get one

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 06/12/2019 12:55

I've had my postal vote sat here for a good week already, hoping that someone would come out of the woodwork and at least recognise the problem with these cuddly, "be nice" approaches.

No reason not to tick the box and send it off now. And it's not for Labour or LibDems. They can get to fuck and I feel quite justified in saying they will have brought this result on themselves.

Datun · 06/12/2019 12:55

It's a shit show. Again.

littlbrowndog · 06/12/2019 12:54

I got deleted. I only said oh sorry nettle to someone who had an awful experience

rodgmum · 06/12/2019 12:51

Jesus Christ. I forgot to watch this one, but Christ if he’s said that, there goes Labour...

VortexofBloggery · 06/12/2019 12:45

I'm actually quite shocked. Stupid, I know. How on earth can they allow men to selfID their way into women's services? Impact assessments aren't going to protect anyone. This is nuts.

Justhadathought · 06/12/2019 12:42

That’s Labour’s position

We knew that....John Mcdonnell was never going to stray from the party line, even if he sees things differently himself.

Angryresister · 06/12/2019 12:41

Ok that’s it....Labour out now as well. Polling ballot if proxy will agree

BovaryX · 06/12/2019 12:40

At least it’s unambiguously clear. It’s a total capitulation to the lobby group
