Long grass it is then. I'll be asking my ppc what happened to those consultation responses.
The word 'gender' does not appear anywhere, FYI

Give me one example of the Conservative manifesto that is ‘right wing?’

NovemberDays · 24/11/2019 16:54

Presumably if it is not in the manifesto and it was not in the (pointless) Queen’s Speech, it is not on their agenda any more?

Thoughtlessinengland · 24/11/2019 16:53

The Conservatives are not ‘right wing.’

Wow. What’s the right wing then? UKIP/TBP? In my books and in the books of very many folk that’s far right, near facist. Both labour and Tories have more centrist and more extreme elements but I thought we are all broadly certain that these two parties sit on either side of the political spectrum with some more or the extremes and others more to the centre (so the difference I suppose between Jacob Rees Mogg and till recently Nick Boles, or between Jeremy Corbyn and till recently Chuka Umunna), but to say the Tories are not right wing at all when their politics policies and ideologies say otherwise is a bit intriguing.

I was goin to spoil my ballot but in all honesty I'm probably goin to vote Tory now.

BovaryX · 24/11/2019 16:49

The Conservatives are not ‘right wing.’ They are barely Conservative. But hey. I would much rather a Conservative government than either of the other options.

BelleHathor · 24/11/2019 16:49

From a political pov it is better for the Tories not to explicitly come out against self-id as it could motivate younger "woke" people to vote against them.

MrsSnippyPants · 24/11/2019 16:45

David Davis has been tweeting about Harry's case today too (not David T Davies), so that's two Tory Davids onside.

If this election is seen/is a choice between -

(1) Remain supporting parties (in their various shades) who will introduce self ID

Vs

(2) Right wing party who have doomed the country to austerity and will push to hard brexit but who may not introduce self ID

Who would you rather vote for? That is the question isn’t it? Also what are the implications of a spoilt ballot that seems to be the path many are taking? What a spoilt ballot means long-standing X party stronghold may not mean the same in a swing or marginal....

BovaryX · 24/11/2019 16:44

Lady, that’s an interesting take on it. Another poster made a great point that there was really no upside to the Conservatives explicitly coming out against self ID because many people know nothing about it.

BovaryX · 24/11/2019 16:41

Maybe won't introduce self ID

It really is pathetic of them. Craven and dissembling because they are frightened of Twitter hysterics calling them the nasty party.

lady69 · 24/11/2019 16:40

My tory mp is gc.. That alongside this... She has my vote. It’s as simple as that for me this election.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 24/11/2019 16:37

So it's a vote between the "we will introduce self ID you terfs aren't welcome"

"Will introduce self ID but wrap ourselves up in knots giving the illusion for woman's rights"
Or
"Maybe won't introduce self ID"
