I think she is funny and sassy and doesn't take herself too seriously. Her dude looks like a lady piece on IACeleb showed her humor.
However tonight she said that it's hard work becoming a women as there is so much more work (James called it women admin) and that she needs to get up an hour earlier now she is a women and can't just shower and go.
Why does this make you a woman. I wash and go, I don't have manicures nor do I wear make up, I do not get up early to get ready but I'm equally a woman. Why should woman equal groomed?

Careful WotchaTalkinBoutWillis your transphobia is showing.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 24/11/2019 01:14

Presumably because whether wearing make up, doing your hair etc makes you a proper woman is a perfectly valid feminist topic?

But the converse of that would be that someone who hasn’t done their hair & makeup isn’t a ‘proper woman’ which is just as nonsensical.

I’ve got very short hair & last wore makeup about 25 years ago. I’m not going to miraculously become a ‘proper woman’ if I grow my hair & buy a lipstick, I did that by growing up with XX chromosomes. And if somebody feels dependent on hair, makeup etc to make them a ‘proper woman’ then where does that leave them when they’re not all dressed up?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 24/11/2019 01:09

Celebrity praise threads belong in Telly addicts, not FWR

I don't care about Caitlin Jenner though.
She's just another person to me.
Celebrity praise threads?
Nope, not really, I'm not into them but I am into feminist topics.
Which is why I comment on this one and on this board.

HarrietTheFly · 24/11/2019 01:09

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis

I don't think I understand what you mean. This is the womens rights board so I would assume that's why some may think a post praising a random celeb is not relevant... It doesn't relate to feminism.

Creepster · 24/11/2019 01:04

Celebrity praise threads belong in Telly addicts, not FWR.
FWR has periodically been flooded with trans praise threads in order to push Feminist issues off the front page.
Is that clear enough for you? Cuz I have more.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 24/11/2019 00:52

Creepster
OK, yes.
I've read the moderation talk guideline rules before, and the "special" FWR ones as well.
Not getting why you think posts praising transwomen are started here are a problem?
Unless you think transwomen issues even if it comes under a does it make you less feminine to wear make up post shouldn't be allowed?
No, wait, don't bother answering......
The does it make a woman depending on your make up and dress is interesting I think.

But IME trans women ENJOY the whole primp and preen thing. For them it’s a key part of being a woman. I’ve never seen a trans woman whizz to the supermarket in their chicken-cleaning trackies

See, to me. that makes sense.
I mean, I'm not trans. I'm a biological woman. If I'd spent my whole life to date having to or being expected to conform to male societal norms (whatever that's supposed to mean) then I can see why I'd be embracing so called femininity.
As in, wanting my make up done.
Dresses etc

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 24/11/2019 00:16

trans discussion ≠ transphobia

If you say so Hmm

Bunnyfuller · 23/11/2019 23:57

I’ve only known a few...

But IME trans women ENJOY the whole primp and preen thing. For them it’s a key part of being a woman. I’ve never seen a trans woman whizz to the supermarket in their chicken-cleaning trackies, paint splattered garden shoes and hair scragged into a pony tail with bits sticking out everywhere. I think in some cases it’s like the panda comment, but I do genuinely think there’s a level of enjoyment there that some of us don’t have all the time, or sometimes ever.

I have to say, she’s the first American I’ve seen on IACGMOOH that hasn’t been a dick - very humble, kind and funny. Not THE most convincing female tho.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 23/11/2019 23:48

And probably if it had been posted on another board we wouldn’t have been so ruthlessly monitored and could have stated some biological truths that we don’t get away with on FWR

Surely if what someone was saying was to break talk guidelines it would get taken down regardless of what board it was posted on?
It's not held to a greater esteem on here on regards to whether posts get taken down or not.
Just that FWR is the board that is host to the most transphobia due to the amount of trans discussion, so would stand to reason if what you're saying is under more scrutiny.
It's not in the main boards as much.
(No, I can't be arsed to get into a "define transphobia" or "Where? Report. Mods usually do delete, you know...") not worth it.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 23/11/2019 23:20

What is a “proper woman”?

Exactly.
I dunno.
There's no such thing as a "proper" woman.
We're all different.
Am I womaning any less because I don't wear make up?
No.
I'm not.
Which is why it's an interesting topic (in my opinion) for this board.

I still don’t get why this thread was started in FWR instead of Telly Addicts

GirlDownUnder · 23/11/2019 22:59

And the OP seems to have vanished.

Still very active on other threads though.

Why is the thread about an ageing c list father still here on FWR and not over on tv topic?

It's still here because posters are posting on it - all 8 pages of it.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 23/11/2019 22:51

Justhadathought
Well quite, I can actually see that - I mean in that sense make up and the so called "feminine" look would be a major factor, as in I can't blame her for wanting to spend ages on her make up, clothes etc.
As you say, not as easy if you are of masculine build.
For me, doesn't matter whether I slap make up on or not (I never do) I assume I still look female!

FamilyOfAliens · 23/11/2019 22:49

The car accident case was rejected since she wasn't speeding and was found to be pure accident. She was cleared of any wrongdoing.

So that absolves Jenner of any need to apologise? Surely that’s not what you’re saying?

Justhadathought · 23/11/2019 22:41

Oh, and I'm another one who's not really getting how what she's said is saying that women should spend ages grooming or make up is part of being a woman. She's just doing what she feels is right for her

Caitlyn is doing that because after a life time of transvestitism, 'becoming a woman' is not a natural practice of just being - but a studied performance. Taking time to get ready implies 'working' oneself into role ( it is for anyone who spends so much time getting ready in order to present a facade, women included), because for natal men it is a full time occupation to adopt and maintain the 'presentations' of femininity. a sudden loss of consciousness, or a momentary lapse and they fall back into masculine posture and mannerism.

XXMansplainShieldActive · 23/11/2019 21:46

That's awful, what a horrific way to die. That poor woman.

HandsOffMyRights · 23/11/2019 21:33

Yet her family just want an apology.
