They're now trying to define 'chilling effect'?

Because Humberside police claimed that it hadn't upset Harry, because he he wasn't cowed, or something.

I imagine Harry has lost weight, lost friends, lost money, lost stability. All of it.

It's such a sinister line of reasoning.

BlackeyedSusan · 20/11/2019 11:47

I've tried live mumsnetting and I am shit at it so well done to the live tweeters.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 20/11/2019 11:47

Or to create a particular narrative

Excellent. It appears this has been brought up...

that raises important issue - the people who are generating these complaints. Someone has referred it on to someone else to make a complaint. Is that person referring numerous tweets to the police? One can see the danger of this #FairCopJR

NonnyMouse1337 · 20/11/2019 11:45

I just want to say that live tweeting is a pretty awesome skill to have! Hats off to whoever is doing this.

Good luck, Harry!

Datun · 20/11/2019 11:44

Who was it who tweeted we have to report everything we can, to increase the stats?

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 20/11/2019 11:43

Is the judge going to question PC Gul directly??!

I certainly hope so

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 20/11/2019 11:43

Under that policy what's to stop anyone making a completely false report just to get back at someone they have a grudge against?

Or to create a particular narrative. I read somewhere that West Yorkshire has seen a massive increase in trans hate crime - I can't help wondering how much of this is incidents rather than actual crimes.

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2019 11:43

Who is the judge who is Harry's counsel please?

FloralBunting · 20/11/2019 11:41

We are challenging ALL THE THINGS. I'm loving the confidence.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 20/11/2019 11:41

Is the judge going to question PC Gul directly??!

BRB, making popcorn.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 20/11/2019 11:41

This is another of those moments when my scardy ass, avoid-confrontation-of-any -description self considers joining Twitter. I'd especially be interested in the reaction of Ricky Gervais on this!

Then I remember my blood pressure and stay where I am.

Thanks to all of you providing Twatter links/live tweeting, You're stars.

And as for comparisons to Stephen Lawrence ... WTAF?

Datun · 20/11/2019 11:40

Oooh even though PC gul denies ever having told Harry that he had to check his thinking, the judge still wants to address it. Harry thought that was a dead-end, due to the denial.

tooyoungat40 · 20/11/2019 11:39

ah, I see. Thanks AutumnCrow

Adds fact to fact base alongside stuff about intersex conditions and the legalese behind having a belief

theflushedzebra · 20/11/2019 11:39

I feel like I’m watching someone (in this case the Judge) peak-trans in real time!

Grin

Like in Maria Mac's case someone tweeted "the defence counsel, who I think peak-trans'd during the questioning...."

Sunlight! This has to go Harry's way - the law and policing has to be, and be seen as reasonable. Harry's tweets should never have warranted police involvement.

AutumnCrow · 20/11/2019 11:37

I think the complainant is anonymous?

FloralBunting · 20/11/2019 11:37

Bloody hell I'm enjoying this. The Judge laughed. At it being called a Crime Report. Fab.

CriticalCondition · 20/11/2019 11:36

Yup. Words matter.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 20/11/2019 11:36

All this over something which isn't a crime.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 20/11/2019 11:35

Judge - it starts with the title doesn't it? 'Crime Report'

This judge totally gets it.

Sorry, that can't happen yet can it (hate incident disclosed in DBS)? Or is this something being discussed generally? Ta muchly Smile

That Nazir chap though ...! With this and Maya's case it feels like we're on the brink of something big either way. I'm just praying the outcome prevails on the side of common bloody sense.

Good Luck Harry!

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2019 11:33

Who is this eminently sensible-sounding judge?

OP posts:
TheProdigalKittensReturn · 20/11/2019 11:33

The judge is basically saying "WTF?" in legalese.

FloralBunting · 20/11/2019 11:32

Perhaps a new internet wide set of guidelines about only commenting if you're 'civil' would be helpful?

CaveMum · 20/11/2019 11:31
