I love Benjamin Boyce! Great stuff off to watch.

He did really good interview with a trans woman who's opening answer was "its gaslighting." Fabulous interview.

Datun · 24/11/2019 19:14

In related news, YouTube seem to have gone from banning the Triggernometry video to actively promoting it via auto play!

Ahh. That'll be the wrong side of history looking like it might be this side of the hill, not the other side.

HandsOffMyRights · 24/11/2019 17:10

Thanks DuMonde
More Posie to look forward to tonight.

My thanks to those who stamped their size 9s to demand YouTube remove the Trigger video. As usual, such totalitatian tactics have had the opposite impact to the one intended and enabled Posie to gain more exposure.

Posie’s triggerpod video is now up to 125k and she’s also on Benjamin Boyce.

I like Benjamin as an interviewer already (especially his stuff with detransitioners) so this could be really good:

KettlePolly · 24/11/2019 10:11

I can't remember if it's this thread I posted it on already but Lisa Muggeridge's video on mothers perfectly describes the safeguarding Vs trans ideology tension. Mothers intuitively understand safeguarding and crucially their own responsibilities in the eyes of the state require that we do.

DuMondeB · 23/11/2019 18:16

Posie’s video was up to almost 75k views last time I looked. Far more popular than the @Triggerpod average (although still half Douglas Murray).

People want to hear about this stuff.

CranberriesChoccy · 23/11/2019 17:47

*We've even had that police officer, PC Gul, tell Harry Miller, quite openly, that sometimes a female brain can grow a male body around it. He knows, because he 'went on a course'.

Although, to be fair, a little reflection has him hotly denying it all now.*

I suspect they never thought they'd have to defend this guff. Trans activists/lobbyists are used to shouting transphobe and bigot at people in an attempt to shut them down, but the police are going to need a more robust reply than that. Which doesn't exist of course.

NeurotrashWarrior · 23/11/2019 17:39

Yes. It's already happening (ie the stage being set for boundaries to be broken) with certain individuals offering private pms and working 1:1 with vulnerable children under 'LGBTQ' charities.

GNC centric/ Ben talks about it in the interview posted upthread and also has said that she'd never heard of the the concept of safeguarding (she's US or Canada?) till she started engaging with trans debate stories from the U.K.

Uncompromisingwoman · 23/11/2019 16:24

Thank you LangCleg for that powerful post.
Watching the safeguarding of children being openly undermined is rage inducing. It's hard to hide my contempt towards those individuals and organisations pushing this. When the inevitable disasters happen I hope that they're dragged through every court in the land.

NeurotrashWarrior · 23/11/2019 16:15

Oh yes and it's just plain sexist.

NeurotrashWarrior · 23/11/2019 16:14

Ugh tried to write a few posts on the brain stuff; small children don't make it easy! delighted everyone has pretty much said it.

Thought this bang on on standing for women's website:

And of course Gina et al explaining why research on brains can easily become neurotrash.

My comment about MSM not picking up the story was irony but it doesn't always work online.

Fair point.

LangCleg · 22/11/2019 22:04

Queer theory is incompatible with safeguarding because safeguarding is all about creating strong boundaries to protect children and vulnerable adults, and queer theory is about transgressing all boundaries.

Preach.

And one aspect of this - that rarely gets talked about - is that the thorough undermining of safeguarding in our schools will increase the chances of (most likely non trans) infiltrating abusers finding victims in the most vulnerable children (many of whom will be trans/questioning their gender).

Feminists are advocating for the protection of gender-questioning children while their own fucking activists are advocating for them to be placed outside the safeguards provided to all other children.

The frustration of this makes me weep tears of blood.

DuMondeB · 22/11/2019 09:10

I watched some of the live stream @triggerpod - I would like to congratulate you on not capitulating. Not backing down to the tech bullies OR the activist bullies is so unusual as to be worth mentioning.

You should check out Megan Murphy too - you’ll both like her. She tried to sue Twitter and failed, over a tweet that read ‘men aren’t women tho’

Ereshkigal · 22/11/2019 08:48

So much I felt the need to say it twice, obviously Grin

Ereshkigal · 22/11/2019 08:48

This is only actually amazing if you are a man. Women are not amazed by this, it's been increasingly normal since about 2012 IME

And this. I really did laugh out loud at that comment by Triggerpod

Great points Pencils. I haven't finished watching the interview yet, about half way through as was watching it on bitchute on the train and the wifi went down.

Datun · 22/11/2019 08:38

A female brain is only a female brain when it belongs to a female body.

Quite.

We've even had that police officer, PC Gul, tell Harry Miller, quite openly, that sometimes a female brain can grow a male body around it. He knows, because he 'went on a course'.

Although, to be fair, a little reflection has him hotly denying it all now.

ResistSexism · 22/11/2019 06:18

Queer theory is incompatible with safeguarding because safeguarding is all about creating strong boundaries to protect children and vulnerable adults, and queer theory is about transgressing all boundaries.

Brilliant nutshell explanation. Thank you.

DuMondeB · 22/11/2019 00:05

Even if lady brains are a discernible thing, why on earth would a female brain accidentally end up in a male body,
considering there is increasing evidence that female organs transplanted into male bodies are more likely to be rejected?

A female brain is only a female brain when it belongs to a female body.

PencilsInSpace · 21/11/2019 23:53

Yy what lang said. This is a parenting website, safeguarding of children is absolutely central here and the attacks on mn threads about child safeguarding are sinister af.

Posie said everyone should read more Sheila Jeffries and they should, start here:

radfem.org/unpacking-queer-politics/
(the kindle version is flakey but the pdf works)

Queer theory is incompatible with safeguarding because safeguarding is all about creating strong boundaries to protect children and vulnerable adults, and queer theory is about transgressing all boundaries.

I think someone else really wanted to hurt my feelings and called me a "journalist" shock shock grin.

Shout out to all the brave journalists who are putting themselves out there, risking their careers, to do honest investigation and reporting on this worldwide assault to women's rights and child safeguarding Flowers. Shout out also to all the journalists who are not particularly on the side of children or women but who care about freedom of speech and expression and not being made to lie about material reality. I watched Inherit The Wind at the weekend, it's about the Scopes monkey trial. My favourite quote was from the journalist character - 'I may be rancid butter but I'm still on your side of the bread'

We're working on getting the story to go into the mainstream media - amazingly they really don't want to bite.

This is only actually amazing if you are a man. Women are not amazed by this, it's been increasingly normal since about 2012 IME. Why do you think we are so pissed off?

BadgertheBodger · 21/11/2019 23:19

Love this interview and brilliant to hear Posie in full flow. “Just, fuck off, no!”

Lots of very interesting points brought up in this thread as well. As Floral says (and very nice it is to see you back and swearier than ever), it’s so lovely to be able to have a proper disagreement with someone without them running off crying. Certainly in the UK, we’ve built an entire democracy and legal system out of hundreds of years of people disagreeing, debating ideas, arguing it out, persuading, convincing and finally agreeing the best way forward based on the available evidence. Why we need to throw this all away, along with common sense, is beyond me.
