Fresh thread in case part 2 fills up overnight.
I am yet to receive a reply to my third email, have been furiously tweeting, and as am now pursuing the options available to me as a shareholder.
Still crossing fingers for John Lewis!

My husband has just reminded me that he has life insurance with M&S. I’ve suggested he contacts them and asks, as women are less likely to die, but more likely to have a critical illness, would the premium reduce if he self identifies as a woman.

He is looking at it from the other point of view, he wants to become a transwoman as women live longer!

This may give you some insight into our relationship! 😉

ShesDressedInBlackAgain

Normally these things are reported - which is why I'm so suspicious.

NumbersStation · 25/11/2019 20:23

Aye.

Funny how restorative rotten veg and rotten eggs could be for our sense of well being eh @Coatandhat

Coatandhat · 25/11/2019 20:06

Numbers and then locked in the stocks for a spot of restorative justice?

Mumfun · 25/11/2019 19:48

Would love to know which Wimbledon store too. They do have a few other possible shops like Uniqlo and H & M also.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/11/2019 19:40

I'm tempted to respond to every fool gibbering at me about gender with BISEXES now.

NumbersStation · 25/11/2019 19:32

I think these men Should be made to pose in the same size and style undergarments as the peeped upon, in exactly the same state of undress.

And a poster (life size) put up in the town centre saying what he’d done and explains this ‘man’ could be in a changing room next to YOU.

No doubt he would bleat about human rights but I would care not as he would not deserve rights.

GeordieTerf · 25/11/2019 19:32

Haha! I am howling at "bisexes" Grin

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 25/11/2019 19:18

I have a friend who lives in Wimbledon so I know it well.

It can only be one of the two department stores or Gap surely?

There was the Eddie Katz guy filming people there recently too wasn't there? They are awash with perverts. I wonder if my friend knows Shock

Uncompromisingwoman · 25/11/2019 19:11

This man twice filmed women at a clothing shop in Wimbledon with one in full view in just her bra and knickers.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6796451/Surrey-father-two-jailed-posting-46-upskirt-videos-London-Underground-adult-website.html

Wonder which clothing shop he was in??? Which clothing store admits to having allowed men to share changing rooms with women for some time and has a branch in Wimbledon ? Usually these court cases are specific about where incidents happen but for some strange reason there is no mention of which shop this happened in. Hmm

SeaRabbit · 25/11/2019 18:53

I should have mentioned that Lani resorted to the classic "hello hello can you hear me" to avoid telling me what other sexes, besides bisexes, there are. Or maybe M&S's phone system is melting down, given I was connected but not getting any hold music.

They seem to have forgotten it's their customers they are treating with such contempt. It all seemed designed to put anyone raising the issue of changing rooms into a silo, which suggests there have been a lot of us, so we need to keep up the pressure.

This has really riled me, and I don't give up easily either. I'm beginning to feel a bit Pankhurst.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 25/11/2019 18:32

Slight derail but everytime PC Gul is mentioned I think Spiderbaby 😂

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/11/2019 18:28

Not not bit!!🤪

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/11/2019 18:28

Gul bit Gil...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/11/2019 18:27

I wonder if PC Gil is still a police folk or has left the service...

Akire · 25/11/2019 18:20

How come they can keep using the we’ve been doing it for ages excuse and look everything is fine. They would have never allowed a Man who looks like a man to walk in before. If they can’t engage on that level I don’t know where you start.

Michelleoftheresistance · 25/11/2019 17:30

Like PC Gull's garbled nonsense about 'sometimes a female brain grows male parts I learned it on a course'.

These poor people have no idea what they're talking about, they're trying valiantly to recycle incoherent info that makes no sense with a vocabulary most people have never heard of and don't understand (and the meaning of it shifts about weekly anyway), and are representing a policy even they can't make sense of. And don't agree with.

NumbersStation · 25/11/2019 17:25

Bisexes?

I’m bifed up.

What kind of actual nonsense word is that?AngryConfused

Uncompromisingwoman · 25/11/2019 17:08

Well done CoatandHat. I've also written again in response to a "you've cancelled your standing order??" letter. Tumbleweed is the response.

I'm telling everyone I know and spreading the word about the risks to women if they use their changing rooms.

Coatandhat · 25/11/2019 15:15

@TheProdigalKittensReturn - that is a very good point. My impression is that the first two people I spoke to weren't in England but the Executive Team was - which would explain why the man was not aware of the M&S policies and was rather taken aback.

Coatandhat · 25/11/2019 15:10

@SeaRabbit I was asked for first line of my address and email or mobile number. I also questioned this and was given an answer that I really couldn't understand and the poor chap in the end just said it was policy when they transfer calls to other departments. I gave it because I didn't want to not be put through. By the time I spoke to the Executive Team member she was able to address me by my name.

I like your suggestion of Dave Smith @LordProf Grin

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/11/2019 15:06

Bisexes

Dear god, who have they outsourced their customer service line to?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/11/2019 14:57

Give a name like Dave Smith and see what they say. I once spent 3 hours on the phone to Tesco on a complaint and had a 3-day phone tag argument with our old management company.

When I have time I can be rather persistent.

Can't a lawyer write to them asking about their understanding of the Equality Act? What about Consumer rights? They have brought in a policy without consulting their customers or a counterbalance to the (I assume) agency who advised them. This same policy has been shown to cause serious issues in the US (see Target) and will open them up to law suits surely?

Rachelsfatarse · 25/11/2019 14:56

Bisexes. Confused

CakeFlowers to you all

SeaRabbit · 25/11/2019 14:50

Well… I got through to the online helpdesk, and was eventually told by a woman with a very strong foreign accent and mode of speaking (calling me "Mam") that she would transfer me over – but that then got back to the first switchboard and then back to the online complaints section again. I was then kept on hold listening to irritating music for a long time, and then, the music stopped but I was still connected to their telephone number.

I tried again several times, and only got to a real person when I replied 'question' and 'question' to the reason for my call. She claimed not to know the situation and agreed it was unacceptable.

After several further calls, and having to insist I spoke to a real manager, I got though to poor misguided Lani, who told me that they were wanting to 'admit other sexes' and when asked what those were, as I thought there were just male and female sexes he said 'bisexes'...

I'm passing the baton on, now. They insist on knowing one's full name, too. Chilling.
