I am yet to receive a reply to my third email, have been furiously tweeting, and as am now pursuing the options available to me as a shareholder.
Still crossing fingers for John Lewis!

But they are all about making their customers comfortable @Sexnotgender

Why crack one out at home in a sock when you can lose yourself onto a pair of ladies pants you have no intention of buying in the comfort of your own cubicle?

The christmas best seller (for the customer they clearly care most about) will be penis beakers.

TheChampagneGalop · 12/11/2019 16:15

Posting such reviews, sometimes with photos, online is a way for them to safely expose themselves and their fetish to female shoppers. Remember they like female witnesses.

Sexnotgender · 12/11/2019 16:06

Go on M&S, convince me you haven’t just opened up your female changing facilities to every fucking perv out there.

Took me about 2 minutes to find these reviews. I’m sure there’s plenty more where they came from.

There are many problems with all of this. First "he looked at me funny" we all know that really means he set off my creep radar and I dont want him near me, but m and s will brush it off. Because nothing happened. "He took pictures of me over/under the door" by the time his phone gets looked at the images are halfway around the world but not on his phone.

EXACTLY! Which is why we need to maintain sex segregated spaces so these “non” incidents can’t occur because there’s no opportunity.

If only there was a word for that kind of thing Hmm

Elodie2019 · 12/11/2019 16:02

jean: So shall I just stop doing stuff now you've told me what's what? Or shall I carry on campaigning on a variety of issues in my own way as I have done for a few years?

If you read my posts properly you will see that I agree with your campaign. You seem determined to believe that I am against what you are trying to achieve.
The only thing I am not in agreement with is targeting anyone at the bottom of the 'great' corporate pyramid yet you seem to think I'm on their side. Weird.

SwimmingCait · 12/11/2019 15:49

I also told Facebook not to show me any more M&S adverts. Means I can't click without noticing where it is from.

Dangerfloof · 12/11/2019 15:48

This is what really rips my knitting. M&S have stated if someone acts inappropriately then they will be dealt with. So they are perfectly
happy to wait until a woman or child is a victim before they take any action. How many women and children are acceptable collateral damage?

And from experience we know that this behaviour escalates. So gets his rocks off going into a change area with women escalates to peeping Tom, then escalates to wanking in front of women to then escalate to rape.
I will not set foot in m and s now til this is changed.

Unsubscribe from their marketing emails too. I got one yesterday, if you scroll to the bottom there is an unsubscribe link.

CriticalCondition · 12/11/2019 15:32

Justabaker I think the poster who thought they'd come across a Target connection realised it was a different company, not the US Target.

mollymandyandypandy · 12/11/2019 15:31

I agree with Bicker, focus on M&S however, I've said it before, just speaking to the shop floor staff and management isn't going to be enough. We need to distrupt and raise awareness amongst customers by using the mens changing room, preferably with arms full of lingerie, preferably at busy times. Let's see the reaction from the men and their wives sitting outside. Let them complain, put the shop floor staff in a position where they have to tell customers their position and stand our ground.

They simply won't listen to us women.

OdeToDiazepam · 12/11/2019 15:25

This is shocking

CriticalCondition · 12/11/2019 15:20

I agree too. The bottom line counts.

But I'm also writing to the corporate decision makers to explain why M&S aren't getting another penny of my money.

I emailed Steve Rowe the CEO and Archie Norman and received the standard brush off response. I have sent further detailed follow-ups asking for a proper reply. I have sent subsequent chasing emails.

Nothing. It's now just automated acknowledgements promising a reply which never comes. It's almost two weeks now.

So I'm now emailing the manager of my local store and the M&S head of legal at HQ.

If anyone else wants to do the same, senior management emails seem to be [email protected].

I got the name and email of store manager by ringing the local store. Details are on the website.

Justabaker · 12/11/2019 15:09

I've gone all sinister now. I am not a conspiracy type. But there are too many coincidences and red flags here. I'm past thinking this is just ignorance and arrogance.

They may well have gotten advice from Stonewall et al on 'gender'. But I think they know exactly what's going on. They will have good data on their website - who purchases, who comments, where the traffic on their e-commerce site comes from. If they've got pro-active web guys they will know that they are frequently mentioned on sissification and other pervert sites. They have at least one board member in common with Target the US retailer who went to unisex changing rooms. Target had a surge in 'changing room incidents'.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me a third time - that's a conspiracy.

Sexnotgender · 12/11/2019 15:07

All clothing and household items such as cookware, bedding etc. is from the joint budget but I’m the decision maker. Got some M&S vouchers that need used but other than that they won’t see a penny more of my hard earned cash.

SingingLily · 12/11/2019 15:05

Everything BickerinBrattle said.

Everything in this house is held and owned jointly but I make the spending decisions. I suspect that's the case in a significant number of households.

M&S have had three emails from me now. I've had the standard bog-off stock response and two further holding responses. My next step is to visit the branch where I usually shop each week and explain to the very nice female manager why she won't be seeing me anymore. It's a branch that is under pressure to maintain and increase its customer base so it won't be welcome news to her.

NumbersStation · 12/11/2019 14:59

@Sexnotgender

Amen to that

Sexnotgender · 12/11/2019 14:49

I agree Bicker, focus on M&S.

BickerinBrattle · 12/11/2019 14:41

Tactically, women can most show strength by focusing all protest efforts on one retailer in particular and make an example of them.

If women’s protests, concentrated against just one retailer, result in demonstrated hits to the corporate bottom line, every other business will take note.

At a larger, strategic level, the power of the purse is the Archimedes lever that women hold, and every consumer-goods business knows that. We might not have as much political representation or anything like parity in business leadership, but in a consumer-driven economy, we hold enormous leverage via our spending choices. While political parties feel free to ignore us, the High Street cannot.

And a woman takes no risk at all by withholding her spending.

Needmoresleep · 12/11/2019 14:40

M&S management will be the ones who chose to buy in expensive "equalities" advice and training from Stonewall allied consultants. They are the ones who will have chosen not to have listened to either shop floor staff or customers.

Their salaries will be profit linked. Management is a lot more than ticking boxes. If they can't engage their brains or speak to those around them who live in the real world, they deserve what they get....which is no profit related bonus'.

I am hoping that by frequenting local shops, even if it means that I pay more (so far not the case) I help keep High Streets alive and help ensure there are jobs for local workers.

peachescariad · 12/11/2019 14:25

Sexnotgender YESSSSSSSS! Fuck you M&S you've lost me too

PocketDictionary · 12/11/2019 14:23

It's #Respect19 week supporting shop workers! They're asking for photos on the explanatory page.

*Sexnotgender Yes to that.

Sexnotgender · 12/11/2019 14:08

Many moons ago when I was but a whippersnapper...

I had my first proper job at a shoe shop that
is no longer in existence.
We had a creep that would come in regularly and try on ladies knee and thigh high boots, he never bought anything and always chose the young female shop assistants to help.

Management never did anything as he “wasn’t doing anything wrong”. Fuck the fact that he was using your teenage sales assistants to get off on his fetish. I was 16.

This is what really rips my knitting. M&S have stated if someone acts inappropriately then they will be dealt with. So they are perfectly happy to wait until a woman or child is a victim before they take any action. How many women and children are acceptable collateral damage?

Fuck you M&S. Fuck your lack of balls to put women and children first when they are customers. And FUCK YOU for putting your sales assistants at risk from these perverts. It’s been over 20 years and I still remember how that old creep made me feel and how management didn’t give a shit.
I’m your target market, I’m a higher rate tax payer with young children and you won’t get a penny of my fucking money you bunch of spineless cunts.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 12/11/2019 14:06

M&S is a British institution.

Let's be honest here so were most of the Yewtree suspect.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 12/11/2019 14:06

ell, they could get a great campaign out of this if they saw sense!

Do you really want them to use women's rights as some second place after thought because they backed the wrong horse?
