But Scary wasn't scary, Posh wasn't posh, Baby wasn't a baby and Ginger wasn't ginger.

It's a metaphor for something.

I was posh but identified as ginger. Anyone who pointed out that I was a brunette was being hateful.

I didn't really identify as any, but always admired that Sporty could wear shell suit bottoms and still be an icon in a girl band
