That's some interesting body language there on the photo of Swinson with Challenor. Not surprising though given what she must have known.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 02/11/2019 20:08

but have to choose the one going closest to you destination

Yeah. No.

I've believed this all my life. I've been told this by leftie men all my life. They'll get round to women. Soon even. They just need to sort out this vv important strike/election/Brexit/austerity thingie.

Well bollocks. 'No self respecting woman...' and all that. Not one of them deserves my vote and they are not getting it.

allmywhat · 02/11/2019 19:42

Tbf jo’s body language in that photo speaks a thousand words.

It reminds me of the woman beside Rachel McKinnon on the podium! It made me respect Jo Swinson a bit more.

Siameasy · 02/11/2019 18:56

Gosh yeah the body language is “if I have to”

MollyButton · 02/11/2019 18:55

As I said elsewhere voting is not like choosing your life partner it's like public transport you don't wait for the perfect one but have to choose the one going closest to you destination.
None of the parties have clean hands on this issue. (Even WPUK go along with TWAW).
Then there is Brexit, Climate Change, Islamaphobia, Antisemitism, selling the NHS, magic money trees ...

A few months ago somebody posted a tweet with a photo of Jo Swinson & Aimee Challenor:

twitter.com/ripx4nutmeg/status/1155025147079856128?s=19

I continue to be really surprised that political parties are so blase about who they allow to be officers.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 02/11/2019 17:06

Hacked social media Hmm now where have I heard that before?
Isn't the partner in question the one who readily admitted being map? If the posts in question were somehow worse than that?
It beggars belief.

realitycalling · 02/11/2019 14:17

Another one who quit the Lib Dems because of this and the awful misogyny of their LGBT twitter account. Complaints completely ignored - but they still keep contacting me wanting my vote and support Hmm .

Completely politically homeless and while Brexit tempts me to vote for them how can I support a political party that treats both the safeguarding of children and rights of women with such contempt? Sadly they're just too dangerous to be in charge of the country.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/11/2019 14:05

I'd like to vote LibDems because of Brexit, but because of this issue I won't. I don't trust them. I'm still angry that I emailed Vince Cable when he was Leader about the conduct of the LibDem LGBT account on Twitter and got no response at all. That's just rude. I was perfectly polite and gave my reasons. I strongly suspect some superwoke assistant deleted it on sight.

SalrycLuxx · 02/11/2019 13:00

They knew. They chose to ignore.

Yep. I’m one who quit the party over AC. They didn’t give a damn. I think it’s only because of WPUK and others that they’ve had to start engaging brain.

andyoldlabour · 02/11/2019 12:49

This is the Coventry Observer. Will Aimeemememememe, now gravitate over to the Labour Party?

2Rebecca · 02/11/2019 12:40

Agree that AC should keep out of politics and high profile roles in the interest of AC and the wider public. Can't AC just get a job and take up jogging round the he park for a hobby or something?
It does seem as though the people especially young people who want the media limelight and high profile positions are the ones who shouldn't have it.

MollyButton · 02/11/2019 11:47

If the LD had also not told people who tried to report the issues with AC to basically shut up and go away...

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 02/11/2019 10:26

If the Liberal Democrats had done due diligence from the start they would not be in this embarrassing situation now.

They didn't need to do any due diligence, they were specifically told, numerous times by numerous people, with clear evidence as to Challenor's behaviour and inability to understand basic safe guarding rules, that Challenor was not an appropriate person to be involved in their party on any level.

They knew. They chose to ignore.

HandsOffMyRights · 02/11/2019 10:17

I would like to see the Coventey Evening Telegraph pick this up and its webiste Coventry Live.

It is part of Reach PLC which owns The Mirrir/Express/Daily Star and stories that appear on Coventry Live are often picked up by the nationals in that group.

Keep shining the light.

donquixotedelamancha · 02/11/2019 10:02

Never heard of the Coventry Observer. Sounds like an advertising free-sheet.

No clue how big it is, but my guess is quite small. Website says it's part of several local papers in the region, all with print editions.

Could well be a free sheet, though it's a damn sight more professional than the ones near me- advertising content clearly delineated, a couple of glossy advertising supplements, quite a lot of content, the couple of articles I read are better written than some of the churn found in nationals.

Can't find anything on their site.

Given how horrific the Challenor case was and given Aimee's continued political connections, I'm constantly astounded it did not get more attention.

OhHolyJesus · 02/11/2019 09:57

AC retweeted Labours tweets but has been with the LDs until now, Molly, Labour could be next but after the holiday/wedding AC has suggested a possible move to the US.

AC seems to switch political allegiance pretty easily, anyone will do, Women's Equality Party next maybe?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 02/11/2019 09:44

Is Aimee (repeatedly) employed as a diversity hire/for woke points?

Cos how else can it be explained??

MollyButton · 02/11/2019 09:44

AC was making noises about campaigning for Labour last I heard.

Daysofpearlyspencer · 02/11/2019 09:42

I wonder if any of this will affect AC from getting a visa or maybe AC is going for the 90 day fiance visa

Unbelievable that the LD's didn't shut down AC's involvement in the party from the start. All the info about what happened with the Greens was public knowledge.
