I've not seen this reported anywhere till today but good news.
The rubber fetish wanker who filmed himself in the NSPCC loo at work was dismissed on 12th August ,I hope he isn't employed by another charity.

‘Bog standard’ (made me laugh).

PearPickingPorky · 12/06/2021 14:42

It’s also totally hypocritical, since none of these TERFs have an issue with the charity working with various cis-gender celebrities that have engaged in public sex, have had sex scandals, or have fully frontal nude imagery freely available, but when its a trans woman who is not ashamed of her sexuality, its suddenly an issue.

WTF?

What bullshit. If the NSPCC was EVER using celebs from the porn industry or celebs who have public sex then I most certainly would have a problem with it. Male or female. In fact, probably more so if female, because of the message that would send to young children who are already at very high risk of sexual exploitation and grooming.

And as for all the rest of that piece. It seems what happened has had a huge effect on him. That's a shame for him. But quite frankly, this is a Children's Protection Charity, and anyone who thought that it was alright to post the sort of things online that he did should not be working in one, even if he did erroneously think that he was doing it anonymously (I don't believe that, however, as there was a link on his LinkedIn bio to his fetish stuff, I saw it. Not sure why he's denying it now).

The only people who should be working with vulnerable children are those who understand the enormous burden of safeguarding, and would therefore never make that mistake. We, as a society, and the NSPCC as a charity, have dropped the ball on safeguarding massively in the last 10-15 years. It needs to be its first and foremost principle. The protection of children is more important than the feelings of their staff and volunteers.

Datun · 12/06/2021 14:39

I don't know about Twitter, but I don't remember anyone here calling him a paedophile. They pointed out the issue of safeguarding, which right through that blog he still doesn't get.

He doesn't appear to understand that a celebrity encouraging children to contact them privately, doesn't have to be motivated by anything sinister, for it to be a safeguarding hazard. Especially when that person is representing the NSPCC.

I mean, where was the training at the NSPCC? Surely its bog standard. Don't do anything that confuses children about the acceptability of eroding boundaries between adults and children.

TheFnozwhowasmirage · 12/06/2021 14:38

He's not sorry it happened. He's just sorry that he's had to suffer the consequences.

MattDamon · 12/06/2021 14:35

"Friends, family, and colleagues knew about my involvement in the fetish scene as it is something I take huge pride in"

What kind of fucked up, banjo-playing family did he grow up in?

nauticant · 12/06/2021 14:29

I captioned one of my videos to say it was filmed ‘in the toilets at work’, and that another in a hotel was filmed on a work trip. For the record; they weren’t. I put that because people find that kind of exhibitionism sexy and dangerous. It only takes one quick search to find the millions of videos that do the same thing, and let’s face it, we all know that most porn isn’t real anyway. I can categorically say that putting that in the captions of those videos will go down in my personal history as the dumbest idea I’ve ever had.

Oh. OK. I was also persuaded by his statements that linking the videos to his real world identity was something involving NSA levels of cyber expertise. I must therefore be mistaken in my recollection at the time that it was linking together a few pieces of apparently already associated data that were in the public domain.

At the end of a long article he wraps up by saying that people should support Mermaids.

Doyoumind · 12/06/2021 14:29

I don't feel sorry for him. I don't care what he does in private but posting ferish images and videos is not compatible with working at a children's charity. If he doesn't understand that, he doesn't belong in that kind of role, even if he has no contact with children. I didn't see people claiming either MB or he were paedophiles. There were simply very sensible concerns about what had been said and done by both and how that reflected on the NSPCC.

ArabellaScott · 12/06/2021 14:29

Is this the one where the bloke who uploaded footage of himself wanking at work claims victimhood?

Yeah, I remember it.

BettyFilous · 12/06/2021 14:23

That blog is endless. My takeaway from skimming it: if you don’t want people pointing out where to find videos of you online masturbating, maybe don’t post videos of you masturbating online. 🤷

toffeebutterpopcorn · 12/06/2021 14:19

But isn’t this just bringing your whole / authentic self to work that people keep going on about? Trust me - my work doesn’t want my whole self coming in. They wouldn’t like it.

Tibtom · 12/06/2021 14:17

I agree about kink shaming. And I suspect the shame is part of the appeal and they would just go further until they are shamed.

OhHolyJesus · 12/06/2021 14:14

Boosting this old thread with this. I reserve my sympathies for the children exposed to those who don't understand safeguarding and have no wish to learn, but instead want to accuse those who do of bigotry and kink-shaming.

I welcome kink shaming, I think there should be more of it.

SarahTancredi · 15/10/2019 13:58

The truth is such a dangerous thing isnt it...

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 15/10/2019 13:57

FWIW (and to nobody's surprise), that poster is being consistently deboosted. I have just run down the twitter page (not logged in) and every single time their comment has been hidden under the "show more replies".

Other comments not hidden like that.

SarahTancredi · 15/10/2019 13:44

To whoever has been busy on the twitter page.

Word of advice. Next time mention you are no longer donating. That gets a response Wink

MouthyHarpy · 14/10/2019 12:58

Hi @StrawberryLetter32 What's your Twitter name so I can follow you?

I think you already do - I tweet under my RL name as an academic (I got into trouble for that ...) Will DM when I finish doing the paperwork I'm doing today oh the life of the mind

RoyalCorgi · 14/10/2019 10:30

Hadley Freeman has retweeted Jane, which is good. Lots of people agreeing with Hadley, plus the usual one who claims that this was just a minor lapse on the NSPCC's part, nothing to see, move along...

StrawberryLetter32 · 14/10/2019 10:19

Ah, okay. I read the first two lines. Nuff said.

nauticant · 14/10/2019 10:17

Here's a relatively OK link about Skin Two:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skin_Two

As you might imagine, this is a very bland description of the content of the magazine.

StrawberryLetter32 · 14/10/2019 10:00

@OrchidInTheSun What is/was Skin 2 please. Liz Tray seems horrible.

StrawberryLetter32 · 14/10/2019 09:58

@MouthyHarpy I forgot to tag you. Newbie!

StrawberryLetter32 · 14/10/2019 09:57

What's your Twitter name so I can follow you?

StrawberryLetter32 · 14/10/2019 09:57

High Five Thank you! I do my level best to be awesome. Ha ha!

MouthyHarpy · 14/10/2019 08:22

@StrawberryLetter32

Just fangirling a bit here. You are awesome on Twitter!

Datun · 13/10/2019 23:57

Small world.

Indeed. And she thinks it was 'unwise', as though it's a minor lapse in judgement, instead of a massive red flag.

And that all men wank at work ?????
