DW and I would go if we could, but we don't live near Oxford unfortunately. Hopefully WPUK will get to Nottingham or Derby soon. I did ask them and they said they're working on it!

Sicario that's lovely news. There was hostility last time WPUK was in Oxford but the Friends Meeting House and the WPUK stewards were excellent. I think there is safety in numbers so trying to persuade as many friends to sign up before tickets sell out.

My super-lovely husband (who "peaked" a couple of months ago) is thrilled that I got him a ticket to come and join us. He worries about me because I am small and opinionated. He is 6'3" and is offering to escort as many of us as you like. Same for escorting out if required. I will be giving my contact details to WPUK.

If anyone is nervous going alone, they can contact WPUK who will put them in touch with a local person who can meet beforehand and go in together.

Oh I hope so. It was in the Friends Meeting House last time there was a meeting in Oxford, lots of pubs at that end of town. After the last London one they'd sorted a pub for afterwards which was really nice. Is anyone around to meet up beforehand? I can't but I know from London that a few people might be nervous going in alone.

As I say I am agog that a GC barrister is attending, let alone chairing a WPUK meeting.

(disclaimer: obviously all barristers are self-employed but this chambers has a particularly 'woke mindset. Is the tide turning?)

I am beyond delighted to see that a Garden Court barrister is charing this.

I know a GC barrister (male, obvs) who is woker than woke - pro sex work, pro shouting down women with safeguarding concerns because trans trumps all.
