I think I will challenge this notice seen at local hospital

I saw this in the adolescent (includes under 16s) waiting room when attending a regular clinic this morning.
I mentioned it to the consultant (not his area) who suggested I email and he would pass it on, but hadn't looked at it properly himself.

I want to keep it very short and don't want to affect DS's care or the attitude of the staff towards me.

I thought I would challenge the use of "assigned at birth" and the sex chart being inappropriate (and daft)

hahaha guys I really think all it's trying to say is gay sex is just sex at the end of the day it's not that deep

WombOfOnesOwn · 09/10/2019 18:10

A boy and girl having vaginal sex is gay sex?

So what is "gay" about it, then?

allmywhat · 09/10/2019 18:10

Have you ever had gay sex?

Judging by that poster, most toddlers have had "gay sex." Sometimes it's useful for words to have actual meanings.

And no one is being "mean" when they point out that women using sex toys, and anal sex involving male-bodied people are entirely different activities. The differences are pretty important.

BNSY · 09/10/2019 18:04

@WombOfOnesOwn fair enough cuddling is a bit of a stretch haha

BNSY · 09/10/2019 18:02

Yoo allmywhat I didn't know you could quote messages! That's super useful

And I think taking it literally is wildly missing the point of the poster which basically says it's all sex so let's not be mean about it Smile

Have you ever had gay sex?

WombOfOnesOwn · 09/10/2019 18:00

More people are autistic than are transgender.

Imagine being a young autistic teen, more likely to take things literally than most, and seeing that "cuddling" even between boys and girls is now "gay sex."

But hey, who cares about all the kids whose comprehension will be impacted. As long as some trans groomer in an office building is able to feel gender euphoria (this translates directly to "a boner"), then all's right with the world.

allmywhat · 09/10/2019 17:46

Qcng Not sure if you're being facetious and have accidentally got it on the nose but yeah you're 100% right either way, it's all the same

How can you possibly think those activities are the same? Haven't you ever had sex?

BNSY · 09/10/2019 17:42

@Qcng Not sure if you're being facetious and have accidentally got it on the nose but yeah you're 100% right either way, it's all the same Smile

Flabuless · 09/10/2019 17:19

There are a number of (necessaioy secret, sadly) groups on FB, including a direct action one and a new but open one for Labour Party supporters called Rise Above Gender, which are trying to challenge gender stereotypes and the trans ideology so pervasive in our institutions, which have been Stonewalled to death.

Qcng · 09/10/2019 17:12

How do the girl and girl have gay penis sex
Obviously a girl born without a penis can have penis-sex with a girl with a penis, and also two girls born with a penis can have penis-sex with each other, and this is exactly the same as girls without a penis having sex with a dildo, either together sharing one, both with one each, or just on their own.
It's all exactly the same.

littlbrowndog · 09/10/2019 17:01

I apologise I don’t know what came over me

MockersthefeMANist · 09/10/2019 16:59

"How do the girl and girl have gay penis sex?"

You sound like one of those horrific transphobes who thinks a girl can't be born with a willy.

BNSY · 09/10/2019 16:54

@Flabuless what are these groups? Can one join such groups?

BNSY · 09/10/2019 16:52

@terryleather Yeah I think that's probably the point they were getting at, it's not weird to have "Gay Sex" It's just sex

Flabuless · 09/10/2019 16:50

Please can this hospital be named? DM me if necessary (can you DM on mumsnet? I dont use it very often). I am in various groups who would wish to take this up at Trust level. The information these posters contain is dangerously wrong. There is no 'assigned at birth' for a start, and that chart is utter gibberish, plus I understand that the author, Jamie Lawson, has 'form'.

littlbrowndog · 09/10/2019 16:40

How do the girl and girl have gay penis sex 🤣🤣🥇

CriticalCondition · 09/10/2019 16:30

It seems I've been having threeway gay sex with my two best friends for years. In pubs, coffee shops, on station platforms. Who knew...

MockersthefeMANist · 09/10/2019 16:21

"Sex you are given at birth" is Schrodinger's Baby.

ChattyLion · 09/10/2019 16:07

Fucking hell those last set of posters were made by Brook, sometimes called the Brook Advisory Service. They do sexual health advice and care for under 25’s, contraception and abortion referral and lots of emotional support and all that good and necessary stuff.

What an absolute shower:

‘Gender refers to the way in which a person feels and thinks about themselves, and the way they dress, speak or move. This can be different to the ‘sex’ they were given at birth. In other words, you may feel female and have a penis, you may feel male and have a vulva or may feel like a mix of the two.’

www.brook.org.uk/topics/gender/

Why is ‘sex’ written in quote marks like it isn’t even a thing?
WTF is this about being ‘given a sex at birth’ -you get given a sex at the moment of conception.

Honestly how can any organisation provide any safe sexual health care, if they don’t believe in biological sex or biological facts?

terryleather · 09/10/2019 16:05

Excellent work Sicario Grin

smoresmores · 09/10/2019 15:00

Oh dear, it seems I had gay sex with my mum earlier Shock

scottishbride · 09/10/2019 14:49

I think safeguarding is a reasonable route or there will be a named nurse for child protection, I would contact them. I would say this is inappropriate in a public place. There is a time and place to talk to young people about sex and I would argue that a waiting room isn’t one of them.
And totally agree with pp who said that anal sex does not need to be mentioned at every opportunity.
I am a doctor and if I knew a poster like that was in a waiting room at a clinic I worked in I would ask who to speak to if a patient had questions about it and that as young children often accompany parents or siblings to appointments it is inappropriate for a public waiting area.

littlbrowndog · 09/10/2019 14:48

Liking sicarios work

Half wits sums it up

Inebriati · 09/10/2019 14:45

Ask them if the hilarious 'gay sex' poster is a Freudian slip;
Red = danger, X = No.

Mylittlepony374 · 09/10/2019 14:35

I'm completely confused by all of that, particularly how such bullshit ended up on the wall in a hospital ffs.
I have no real advice but just to say thank you for complaining. This kind of propaganda is damaging and needs to be removed.
