Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Not having sex with someone because they don't have the right genitals is transphobic. No prizes for guessing who's claiming this

RM is busy trying to justify their support for a particularly unpleasant tweet yesterday. For those of you who are blocked, I'll add some grabs.

So hang on - somewhere, maybe right now, there’s a person in a bedroom situation looking at a naked woman and demanding ‘where’s your penis??’

Datun · 30/09/2019 17:30

It must be truly grim to feel like you may be rejected because you dont fit someone's picture of 'the kind of people I fancy'

Eh? Where do people get these daft ideas?

The people who don't fancy 'my kind of people' is every gay man, and every straight woman. I mean, that's loads 😊

Every single person, apart from those who say they are pangender, rejects entire cohorts, out of hand.

Still, there can't be anything quite more cringing than telling the whole of Twitter that the only way you can get a shag is by demanding that every single person should fancy every other person, irrespective - and hopefully, by sheer dint of astronomical numbers, you might get lucky.

Sherpa McKinnon - peaking the unpeakable.

Ooh yes, instant turn off moments...

Not being drunk enough at the next meeting #awkward

Michelleoftheresistance · 30/09/2019 17:28

Olives analogy: yes, exactly. And why this weird dressing up of the idea that you have some kind of social duty to override your feelings and like and eat olives properly, because it's a behavioural fault in you...

This just represents, yet again, how much of the ideology boils down to a need to control others. Their language, their perceptions, their behaviour, their bodies. This is seeing others as puppets, as inhuman props in ones' personal world, and is surrounded by careful language choices which dress it as acceptable and rational.

Who wants to have sex (note its sex. Never relationships, no emotion or connection involved here) with someone who gives not one fuck about how you feel or what you want or who you feel you are, and just wants you to shut up and force yourself to service them wholeheartedly?

Seriously, I'm increasingly thinking we need to organise a massive campaign aimed at teenaged girls, school packs, the lot, all about consent and what every female has a right to in their relationships and treatment by others.

Waterandlemonjuice · 30/09/2019 17:26

FFS, bonkers

TemporaryPermanent · 30/09/2019 17:22

Ooh yes, instant turn off moments...

'I could come over if you was free now' Grammarerrorophobia, vagina slammed shut...

'My hobby is painting miniature wargame figures' with picture... I really tried with this one because stupidhobbyophobia isn't reasonable, but it was also intractable...

Sliponshoeswithwhitesocksophobia... a real problem in 1986. I went ahead and had sex with him but couldn't 'make it work' sorry Rach. Except the idea that women should actually be panting with arousal before they have sex, not 'coping', is so alien to our culture that I thought my total lack of desire and pleasure was normal.

I'm sad, actually, for Rach that the idea of overwhelming sexual desire seems so alien to them too.

justasking111 · 30/09/2019 17:19

We have fought so long to say no means no, to change our mind at any stage in the proceedings I cannot understand this.

VenusTiger · 30/09/2019 17:10

Omfg can’t be doing with this and the “women” instead of “woman” that I see EVERYWHERE (even on here 🙈) is doing my head in!

Tetchy much Grin

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 30/09/2019 17:08

Oh but they do. Lots. And at least two of them want to tell us how much.

Hardly a landslide given how many of them have jumped on the female-bashing threads.

It's almost as if they don't really, because they don't want lady dick either.

RueCambon · 30/09/2019 17:01

@SarahTancredi absolutely, that is the answer they should overcome their own transphobia by dating each other!

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 30/09/2019 16:59

Don't these self obsessed teeds understand that when normal people talk about sexual attraction we are talking about the whole package?
I like men, I like their firmness, their broadness, their smell, their strength, their narrow hips. They wouldn't appeal to me at all if they were disembodied genitals.
What a strange thing to say.

I think that this is at least part of it. I've seen TRAs argue that if a lesbian uses a dildo but reject TW because of their penis, then its transphobic.
If you're the type of person who only sees sexual partners as little more than living sex toys, then it makes sense.

Aspley · 30/09/2019 16:54

Wow. Thank you Paris Lees.

Please encourage more of your peers to speak out about this awful rapey targeting of (primarily) lesbians.

We can't help who we are (not) attracted to and bullying us about it is not going to help. It is not transphobia, it is just what we are.

RoyalCorgi · 30/09/2019 16:54

I'm nominating Big Rachel for a Services to GC Feminism award.

I do sometimes wonder if Rachel is conducting a psychological experiment on the lines of what's the most outrageous, offensive thing they can say or do and some people will still go along with them. Looked at in that light, it is quite interesting to see how many supposedly progressive people will go along with endorsing rape if they think refusing to endorse it will make them a bigot.

LangCleg · 30/09/2019 16:46

I'm nominating Big Rachel for a Services to GC Feminism award.

Thanks for all your hard work, Rachel. Please do keep going.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 30/09/2019 16:44

Is that literal murder or just of the hurt feelings variety?

slug · 30/09/2019 16:41

'People kill us for this'.

Proof, if proof were needed, that in their minds, the only humans worthy of the title "people" are male.

AryaStarkWolf · 30/09/2019 16:35

I'm inclined to agree. I can't imagine McKinnon believes a word of the shit they spout.

Of course they don't , I bet rachels sits at home at night laughing at who he's getting away with it all

I would have thought surprise penis was a much bigger deal

that made me laugh. surprise penis Grin

YouJustDoYou · 30/09/2019 16:35

Is this one of those ‘I can shag you straight’ fantasies that some men seem to have? And how would they fee of their laydee love was in fact a stronger intact male, capable of overpowering and raping them?

^^YES.

BaronessBomburst · 30/09/2019 16:34

I've redesigned the t-shirt. Grin
badly

YouJustDoYou · 30/09/2019 16:33

I don't like olives. I hate olives. Nothing you say or do or how many times you force olives down my throat will make the disgust of olives go away. I HATE FUCKING OLIVES. The End.

IfYouSaySoDear · 30/09/2019 16:30

Oh come on! Yes, anyone literally gets to turn anybody down at any point during proceedings for any fucking reason at all.

My personal hit list of going insta-cold on men I'd kissed before include technical non-issues such as "once out of the club we were no longer shouting over the music - hated his speaking voice", "took off his jumper to reveal a really stupid slogan t-shirt, instant turn-off" and "thought speaking French to me would be romantic, his accent made me cringe". All ludicrously trivial. I would have thought surprise penis was a much bigger deal. Still all very legimitate, because THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A RIGHT TO HAVE SEX WITH ANYONE.

Whatwouldbigfatfannydo · 30/09/2019 16:27

@Coffeeandchocolate9

Good point, let's just do away with consent all together! Then RM and his ilk can have their way and us nasty women can take our rightful place at the feet of men.

I swear this place has gone to the dogs. How have we fallen so far so quickly?

RoyalCorgi · 30/09/2019 16:25

McKinnon is a straight up professional troll.

I'm inclined to agree. I can't imagine McKinnon believes a word of the shit they spout.

AryaStarkWolf · 30/09/2019 16:21

The rest of the male population aren't special so it doesn't matter if their fee fees are hurty hurted.

#Cisprivilege

lisah987 · 30/09/2019 16:20

This trans activism stuff is getting more and more ridiculous. I just read this v funny article (about whether tomatoes are fruit or veg) which hits the nail on the head:
