I’m offering this without comment, mainly because my jaw is still on the floor.

My 15/16 year old son sniggered at a fisting joke, up til then i didnt know he ‘knew’ about it

I told him the next day that fisting isn’t something that the vast majority of people do, that it wasn’t normal part of sex (i dont care if anyone reading this loves it...its not a normal part of sex)

And...that if anyone wanted him to do it to them or do it to him that HE WAS TO RING MUMMY AND MUMMY WOULD COME AND GET HIM EVEN IF HE WAS 40!

From the Jo Borsch article:

Respect Yourself dismisses the notion that pornography is addictive or damaging in any way.

According to Mary Sharp of the Reward Foundation, an educational charity focusing on love, sex and the internet, this is simply not true.

In an interview earlier this year for the Guardian, she explained: “Excess porn is changing how children become sexually aroused … at an age when they’re most vulnerable to mental health disorders and addictions. Most addictions and mental health disorders start in adolescence.”

The results of this can be seen clearly in the rates of erectile dysfunction, which have increased from an estimated 2-3 per cent of men under 35 in 2002 to around 30 per cent since the advent of free-streaming, high-definition porn.

Elsewhere on the site a “relationship quiz” invites users to choose from a list of potential responses if they caught their partner watching pornography.

Realistically we know that the “partner” watching pornography is likely to be male, though Respect Yourself cheerfully reminds us “both guys and girls watch porn.”

Whether you choose the “it’s degrading” or “it’s hot” option, the answer is to put any personal discomfort aside because everyone “likes a fiddle.”

To be clear, having “a fiddle” isn’t the problem, the crushing impact of pornography use by a partner on one’s self-esteem is.

Far from bringing people closer together, use of pornography is a key factor in relationship break-ups.

With visits to pornography sites topping those of Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined, the sex industry will undoubtedly survive without public relations help from the woke of Warwickshire.

Nonetheless, the Respect Yourself guidance does a fair public relations job for the industry, explaining: “The sex industry is one of the few in which women make much more money than men.”

Seems we have to teach our young dds “some men like to do sick weird things darling and pretend it’s normal it’s not stay away and don’t relate this stuff to yourself or let it make you feel bad about yourself as a woman for one moment” sigh Hmm so glad we live in such “enlightened” times Hmm again to infinity

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 28/09/2019 09:03

bukakee

Its not empowering

MsTSwift · 28/09/2019 08:37

I have managed to get to 45 and had a happy fulfilling sex life without “needing to know” about these fucking weird practices.

Maybe it floats the boat of men and a tiny minority of women but why do these practices need to be dragged into the mainstream? Who benefits? Clue not your average girl or woman Hmm

littlbrowndog · 28/09/2019 08:31

There is also a thing called bukakee which I as an adult have never heard of but the site said can be empowering or degrading

And thing called daisy chaining

Why do our 13 year old kids need to know this
As an adult I don’t need to know
Gawd ffs

Thingybob website for the wider organisation both WCC and JH are affiliated with:
www.sexeducationforum.org.uk/

Their list of approved partners :
www.sexeducationforum.org.uk/about/partners

How becoming a partner enables people to directly influence teaching in schools:
Our membership for schools and other educators serves to connect organisations and individuals with the latest practice, research and policy information.

This section is interesting:
www.sexeducationforum.org.uk/resources/frequently-asked-questions/6-what-should-be-included-our-school-rse-policy
The dismissal of parental involvement in sex education for their children, replaced by indoctrination by organisations who are not held to account.

As parents we need to be engaging with head teachers up and down the country and pushing back against this.

TruthOnTrial · 28/09/2019 08:15

Interesting that normal 'parental controls' wouod block children from seeing that content.

Do dc have parental controls on all their phones...well lets hope so, betting not for all those supporting porn for kids.

SophoclesTheFox · 28/09/2019 08:08

Jesus Christ.

I don’t have any words that aren’t swears.

I can’t imagine what it must be like for teens these days. Just horrific.

12 year old chronic porn user advised that all is tickety boo, and tweens being told how great all sorts of niche fetishes are and how they shouldn’t worry about how much they love fisting each other because it’s totes normal? I have to believe that’s just a figment of the imagination of some pomo addled nonce, or I just don’t want to be human any more.

KarenWithTheHair · 28/09/2019 07:39

By that I mean all of the pages are still there and available to me. They’re not being reviewed or taken down.

KarenWithTheHair · 28/09/2019 07:38

The links don’t work for me because my parental controls on my router are blocking them as inappropriate. But they still work if I use mobile data.

Yeahnahyeah · 28/09/2019 07:28

The link to the site still works, but when I click any of the options the page is blank purple, so hopefully it's being looked at.

Datun · 28/09/2019 00:55

Thanks for that clarification Thingybob.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 28/09/2019 00:52

Well, I put on the waders and jumped into AIBU. Fully expecting a flood of "gosh why are you such a prude" from people who most likely had a far less colourful youth than I did.

Thingybob · 28/09/2019 00:51

There seems to be some confusion as to whether Warwickshire County Council is still linking to these sites.

I think I am correct in saying that there are 2 different sites/projects.

The first is 'All About Me' an RSE programme for primary age children, hitting the headlines for "teaching 6 year old to masturbate" This is Jonny Hunt's project and has been running for 5 years but was rewritten and relaunched this September. Links to this have been removed from Warwickshire CC site.

www.warwickshire.gov.uk/allaboutme

The second is 'Respect Yourself', a campaign and website aimed at those 13 years and over. (containing all the information on anal, rimming, scat, fisting, porn etc) Jonny appears to work with a wider team to write the material on there. The links to this project are still active on the Warwickshire CC site

Gingernaut · 28/09/2019 00:32

LangCleg, I just came here to link just that article.

Brilliant.

Datun · 28/09/2019 00:08

No - no time for AIBU as well as here! If you're on it, feel free to stick it there.

Cheers.

TruthOnTrial · 27/09/2019 23:56

Its like some want to cause harm to children, and remove all the safeguarding for the bants just like womens rights.

Are men fighting against this, or just women, the non-mysogynistic ones that is.

What is up with people.

Why wouldnt you want to protect children?

Heads will roll. This won't stop here, who's behind this, and those facilitating it, want hounding out of town and into prison

LangCleg · 27/09/2019 23:26

That's an excellent article lang. Are you on the AIBU thread?

No - no time for AIBU as well as here! If you're on it, feel free to stick it there.

Ereshkigal · 27/09/2019 23:19

Yes to a teen version of the Freedom programme. It can have a cartoon on the front of a teen girl with a speech bubble saying what Kittens said:

"Try to choke me and I will call the police on your misogynistic, porn addicted arse."

Yes.

Oh yes!

Datun · 27/09/2019 23:18

That's an excellent article lang. Are you on the AIBU thread?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 27/09/2019 23:10

How did this happen?

Porn addicted men who've used their influence in pretty much every organization to push this bullshit through.

Knewmee · 27/09/2019 23:08

@hubblevicky have you thought about sending all this info, about Jonny Hunt, the various organisations involved, to the Christian Institute? They have good lawyers and are well funded.

I’ve spent my entire adult life an atheist. I find it difficult to believe I’m recommending a Christian campaigning organisation as one of the few entities that is opposed to state sponsored grooming of underage girls. How did this happen?

Fraggling · 27/09/2019 23:04

Links are ok for me still?
