Sticker Woman strikes again!

We had a great couple of threads a while back where women were reporting where they had seen the evidence of Stickerwoman and her superpowers, with links to various resources. MNers on there also had amazing design skills.

I love it that Stickerwoman is leaving out reading material too.

This is not something I can provide as I have zero graphic design skills but (KLAXON....) I was wondering if it might work to add a QR Code into some of the sticker designs?

To my eye, for example, A QR Code with its somewhat rough graphic appearance could be worked quite tastefully into one of the lightly trimmed-looking hairy bollock areas of the erect penis sticker whilst not jarring with the whole visual, er, flow ?

There are so many great info sites to link to it seems a shame not to share them with the world. A personal favourite that brings lots of sources together is the Sex Matters website- set up by some brave and generous MNers who wanted to make more info available and draw together resources at the time of GRA reform consultation.

It has a great leaflet setting out the issues and a very handy set of links covering many of the key campaigning women’s groups in the UK:

It would be really great to get this petition to 10,000 (the minimum floor for a petition to Parliament on their website to be debated in Parliament IRL)- obviously Stonewall aren’t bound by the same rules as Parliament but it will provide a good publicity point if that number is reached and Stonewall continued with the King Canute-like authoritarian #nodebate response they’ve stuck to, so far:

Stickerwoman is my absolute favourite superhero. Amazing how like Mother Christmas, she can be in zillions of places at once.

Iv never seen these before but will be keeping my eyes peeled for them in future.

FPFW postcards - this is what I order and stick up. Although I"m not clear how to order them at the moment.

I used to use the print off stickers about women not having penises however I think that in order for them to achieve the purpose of alerting others to the issues it is helpful to have some more information on the stickers. So, I order the Fair Play for Women postcards and put double sided sticky tape on the back of them. Somehow about 10 a day end up leaving my handbag and getting stuck to trains/bus stops/backs of loo doors/tops of bins/any other flat surface that I pass . I also have a stack of them without sticky tape on them and somehow these seem to end up leaving my bag (in stacks of 10-20) and snuggling into leaflet racks/onto leaflet tables that I happen to pass in libraries, clubs etc etc.

@averylongtimeago, that's a good sticker, never seen it before. I don't understand it though. 'Why is there a woman in here?' Is this a sticker that men produced for their own toilets?

@Mumminmum, The idiocy has also spread to Australia where I live. Someone I work with occasionally who is an educated person, an activist on feminist matters and a lesbian, was wearing a TShirt that said: "Protect Trans Kids." I wondered if it meant protecting them from dangerous medical intervention, etc but apparently not, it meant protect them from TERFS, etc.

They're good, but I think we also need some that makes sense to people who are not aware of the issues. Before I joined Mumsnet, these stickers wouldn't have made any sense to me and I have been an active feminist for a number of years. And I know lots of lesbians and transexuals.

I would suggest the following:

KEEP MALE PRIVILEGE OUT OF OUR BATHROOMS
Did you know that proposed changes to the law mean that ANY man could use the Ladies toilet simply by saying he identifies as a woman? This doesn't just cover transexuals but ANY straight man with a penis.

In the last 5 years there have been [data] attacks worldwide by men identifying as woman in female-only spaces, including prisons, domestic violence shelters, etc.

We need to protect ourselves, our daughters, our mothers, our sisters and other women. Please helpt to STOP this Act becoming LAW.

Sorry, it's just a draft, but I was trying to come up with something that you could read during the time it takes to have a wee. An A5 sticker on the back of every toilet door would spread the word and educate people to what is going on.

I saw some in Brighton recently.

I have put them up both locally and on public toilets in Europe during this summer. The idiocy of TWAW is spreading to the other countries in Europe and we must fight it.

I hope it stays longer than mine. Every sticker I have used has been removed, although a penis one took a while.

Use them carefully. There was a TRA on Facebook after London Pride complaining that they removed a Posie sticker & it immediately started raining.
