Thousands of deaths associated with drugs given to trans children.

Really important piece including many of the issues we have discussed here before.

I'd still like to know exactly what a 'trans child' is.

The agency has recordeded_ more than 41,000 adverse events reported with their use between 2013 and June 30, 2019.*

More than 26,000 of the events associated with the two hormone blockers, Leuprolide acetate and triptorelin (which includes Lupron and similar drugs used by clinics), were classified by the federal agency as “serious,” including 6,370 deaths. The drugs, which dramatically lower testosterone and estrogen levels in the body, are linked to life-threatening blood clots and other complaints, include brittle bones and joint pain.

*Michael Laidlaw, an endocrinologist from Rocklin, California, testified before the British House of Lords on the issue of “transgender health care” in May. Laidlaw told the Register, “These drugs actually induce a known disease in previously hormonally healthy children.”

Puberty blockers, he explained, interfere with normal signals between the brain and the sex organs, thereby creating a disease state called hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in youths. “It’s a serious condition that endocrinologists would normally diagnose and treat because it interferes with development, but in [gender dysphoria] cases they’re inducing this disease state,” Laidlaw said.*

This is not a gentle pause. This is active harm to the body. The article counties to describe the active harm done to the brain and IQ levels too.

As far as what is motivating the parent, I think parenting over the last number of years has become very odd, intimate in a new way, anxiety-ridden, and intense. And a lot of that larger picture may be playing into this kind of thing in some parents.

wacademia · 24/09/2019 01:21

Why doesn’t Joss link this thread instead of screenshots I wonder?

Linking to the thread would stop Joss from quote-mining. C'mon ladies, we see this with MRAs all the time, when they quote Dworkin and Solanas out-of-context and without naming the source work, and when they selectively screencap research about sexual violence to make women look as bad as men. The court case against Linda Bellos was an attempt to combine quote-mining with vexatious litigation.

Men use quote-mining to discredit people women they disagree with by saying "she said/wrote this terrible thing" ignoring the context which shows the contended statement in a very different light. It's a male anti-woman tactic, irrespective of the male's gender identity.

«waves at Joss and the rest of transactivist Twitter» How about some intellectual honesty from you lot for once? Come on, link the thread.

I was a horse from the time I was four till I was nine.

hoodathunkit · 22/09/2019 20:32

Now called fabricated illness syndrome (or similar, brain not awake yet) to highlight the element of exaggeration and fabrication.

I believe that it is generally referred to as factitious disorder imposed / inflicted upon another.

One recurring theme in the literature and in the victim testimonies is of perpetrators who are extremely manipulative and use threats of legal action and complaints to higher ups should the clinician / doctor not perform whatever dangerous / invasive surgery the parent (usually mother) demands be inflicted on their child / victim.

hoodathunkit · 22/09/2019 20:26

Just registering my horror at the OP and my appreciation of the discussion on this thread

How can any sane, rational human being not be appalled by this obscene experimentation on children?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 22/09/2019 09:10

At that age DS would sometimes pretend to be a dog. I don’t think he wanted to be one (he wanted to be a policeman with a dog) but adored my sisters alsations.

My sister used to role play as a boy at that age. She was your architypal tomboy - short hair, ‘boys’ clothes, hobbies and toys, liked war and scary films, played lots of sports... on today’s world she would have been whisked off to be fitted out as a boy. Needless to say she is not impressed with modern thinking - and she is just a boring old lesbian.

NeurotrashWarrior · 22/09/2019 09:02

The way individuals and organisations such as schools are 'diagnosing' children is very disturbing.

This is Muchausen by Proxy totally.

I agree my kids wanted to be male and female characters, dogs, cats, princesses, fairies and anything also you can think of at 3!

This physical and mental damage has to be stopped.

It really is on trend and seems to be all kids are talking about at the moment along with blue hair.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 22/09/2019 08:49

I feel sorry for children who have had this decision made for them early on - how the hell does a baby/toddler know what sex they are let alone have a preference for one over the other? It’s just not possible - how can it be? Did a psychologist not interview the mother to ‘test her thinking’? Did they ask ‘were to so desperate/sure of a girl that you will have one no matter what? Will the mum also push the child’s sexuality ‘you like boys don’t you? Look at that gorgeous boy - is that your little boyfriend then?’

Will mum be so happy if the child says ‘actually I really like girls’ and what will happen when they understand that they were born a boy and this decision was made for them - and noone stopped mum from doing this.

I imagine drugs and ops are on the cards - how can a child refuse when their mum is their biggest cheerleader?

NeurotrashWarrior · 22/09/2019 08:49

Parents are reading so much about trans, crap about science and brains, going to pride etc that in some ways their naivety and the responsibility of the fabrication of the 'condition of trans' lies with our wider society who perpetuate the ideology.

Yes it's stupid but when gps, teachers, stonewall and even mps are validating the condition in your child, what hope does the child have?

And the mother is a nurse! How can SS turn a blind eye to parents like this?

Regulatory capture and public brainwashing.

The sooner stonewall sorts it's self out the better.

MBP doesn’t need to be a fake illness. It’s thriving on the medicalisation of another. The child may genuinely have gender confusion but it’s turning that into a medical problem that is the issue. Most kids with a parent with MBP have symptoms but those parents are determined for those symptoms to be the most dramatic eg a headache is a tumour, or alternatively the symptoms are so mystifying they “have doctors baffled” and need extensive investigations. As has been demonstrated here, many children, or posters when they were children may have expressed similar gender questions and it didn’t involve doctors and psychologists. I have personally been involved in cases where there has been an unwitting enabling by doctors. Some end up seeing the light and being horrified they were taken for a ride, others stick by their guns and refuse to believe they’ve been taken in.

Thingybob · 22/09/2019 00:05

I never think MBP is the correct term as I don't think these parents (usually mothers) are attempting to fake a disorder.

They are however a certain type of parent. They always appear incredibly naive about how diverse other 'normal' kids can be whilst over-parenting their own child and analysing minute details of that child's life (helicopter parents). Then with the assistance of sources like google they decide that there is something incredibly unique and special about their own child. They genuinely believe this to be true so I think a better term is Hypochondriasis by proxy.

Btw I am only talking about the parent(s) of the young child transitioners who are obviously being led by the mindset of the adults around them.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 21/09/2019 23:58

If there was, say, a cancer prevention drug which did great things but needed the same incredibly careful handling as Lupron, there would be (I hope?) a very detailed set of procedural guidelines for medical professionals and health and safety regs all over the place

Lupron is a cancer drug and there are very careful guidelines.

BadgertheBodger · 21/09/2019 23:48

I am so horribly upset by this. How the fuck have we got to a point where medical professionals are happy to destroy healthy children’s bodies with drugs so potent they recommend not conceiving within 3 months of handling it. 3 months!!! If there was, say, a cancer prevention drug which did great things but needed the same incredibly careful handling as Lupron, there would be (I hope?) a very detailed set of procedural guidelines for medical professionals and health and safety regs all over the place. I just....what the fuck?? This is such a horribly dangerous drug. Giving this to children is just wrong Utterly, completely wrong. It’s so upsetting that so many people are willing to fuck up healthy kids. Horrible Sad

NotBadConsidering · 21/09/2019 23:05

I think there is much more likely to be MBP the younger children are. It becomes MBP when, after being told that it’s normal variant behaviour by several professionals the parent then endlessly seeks out a doctor who’s willing to take things further, like that awful endocrinologist from Stanford who did that TedX talk. Then it becomes MBP and Munchausen by Doctor.

endofthelinefinally · 21/09/2019 22:36

I agree. Munchausens by proxy.

Thingybob · 21/09/2019 22:29

SarahTancredi · 21/09/2019 21:53

3?

Seriously?

I.mean my dd was eating and drinking out of dog bowls and running around maked at 3. Either I'm a shitty parent and I should have accepted my nudist dog or she was fucking 3.

Fraggling · 21/09/2019 21:51

Or just extreme adherence to gender norms ie sex role

Antibles · 21/09/2019 21:49

Is someone with a trans toddler exhibiting Muchausen's by proxy?

NotBadConsidering · 21/09/2019 21:45

Waves to Joss. Why doesn’t Joss link this thread instead of screenshots I wonder? Joss and Joss’s friends are too stupid to find the article in the BMJ. Joss doesn’t realise it’s a journalistic investigation into suspected professional misconduct by doctors, not an opinion piece. Joss can’t fathom the possibility that people can write about things other than “feelz” and can write factual reports detailing events, because Joss spends so much time in the world of “feelz” that facts become irrelevant. Joss fails to realise the BMJ article is about how the “feelz” of doctors seems to have been more important that doing actual research. Joss seems to be happy with the fact LGBT children and teenagers receive a lower standard of healthcare. Because Joss is stupid and selfish.
