Trudeau and double standards

Apparently Justin Trudeau has apologised for photos which have emerged of him with “blackface” make up. I am dying for someone to ask him why donning a costume and make up to mimic another race is offensive and worthy of apology, yet dressing up in “woman face” and demanding to be given full women’s rights should be applauded as stunning and brave.

I think it was a serious error of judgement to be donning blackface in 2001. Suggests to me that he’s not a naturally liberal person. And also, quite frankly, that he’s a bit thick.

Completely agree. If I blacked up, put on an Afro wig, a T shirt saying ‘I is black’, told everyone I ‘identified’ as black and then applied for a scholarship for BAME students, would the reaction be - “Brave and stunning! Winner of black person of the year’. Woke folk denouncing ‘white exclusionary radicals’ and any member of the black community saying that I wasn’t, er, black as a bigot? Thought not.

Compared to the twonk south of the 49th parallel I think Justin's a bit of a saint. (misguided at times of course but then he is male.)

Normally my hackles go up when someone starts ranting about cultural appropriation, but that really did seem like it.

Yup.

My distaste for Trudeau is of long standing (I think he's yet another wee woke wanker, who, when it comes to genuine liberal/left concerns, consistently sells out - women's rights, support for indigenous people, protecting the environment - he's all talk and no trousers).

But this really takes the biscuit. Please Justin, explain to us what the difference between brown face and woman face is, because I would love to know.
