I know!!!! It does sound implausible, and it's exactly what I thought when I first started hearing/thinking about strip clubs. But honestly it's not!
And this is what I think people really struggle to get, if you haven't lived it it just seems utterly preposterous. But I've found being unapologetic, asking difficult questions has for whatever reason worked. Customers come back again and again and again. They could hire a prostitue for the night for a fraction of the price but they don't. I don't know why I wish I did.
Honestly, give up trying to explain. I've said exactly this several times. They only understand from their level of comprehension, tell us we're liars, tell us we're myths. I know you know that. Every dancer knows that. It's not like we haven't been sick of this tripe for years now.
They've got zero actual, real experience of the industry, and yet one of them tells me my ten year career and the things that happened in it are "all in my head"
That's literally the level you're dealing with here. Pointless trying to educate from the view of the real, actual dancing majority. They can't bear to accept it. These amazing feminists.
Anyways, glad to see yet another one of us attempting to get through that stories like this are the exception not the rule. I mean, you get ignored/belittled/called a liar exactly same as me, but again, this ain't mamas first rodeo with these lot, yours neither
