Middle ground

I've been trying to follow conversations online in regard to gender critical thought, pronouns, selfID, transrights, lesbian erasure etc. And all I can find is extreme views on both sides. Is there a middle ground? Is it here? Is Twitter too toxic? I want to be informed not screamed at.

OP posts:

I feel like we're going to end up with a sort of alcoholic lassi. But with goats milk.

Aberhonddu · 16/09/2019 23:34

Tyrotox
Warm fermented goats milk
🤮🤮

Aberhonddu · 16/09/2019 23:31

Prodigal
🤣 I'd disagree with that

Tyrotoxicity · 16/09/2019 23:29

I didn't make it goats' milk, the bastard cows did that, when they taught their enzymes to attack my innards. Never did trust cows, and now I know I was right.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 16/09/2019 23:24

Apparently Aberhonddu is my dad.

You had to make it goats milk, didn't you?

TinselAngel · 16/09/2019 23:23

Lol. No the liquid is heated, the alcohol evaporates and is taken off through a still, and once all that is removed, all that is left is the water. And the fruit liquid in the water of course

It is too late for me to comprehend this witchcraft.

Tyrotoxicity · 16/09/2019 23:22

Let's get back on topic. We're supposed to be discussing the middle ground.

WBH is now the middle ground, because I'm theorising a new extreme.

Warm fermented goat's milk, infused with banana for however long it takes, served with weetabix. Topped with sloeberries so it counts as one of your five a day.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 16/09/2019 23:20

You're going to put banana in it too, aren't you? Heathen

i used to put bananas in my wine. It helps to add flavour. sorry.

Aberhonddu · 16/09/2019 23:20

Rufus
Speyside whisky is the best
Singleton and Aberlour, a measure with a drop of water is the best drink.
Mind you I do like gin, preferably Bombay Sapphire

TheAlternativeTentacle · 16/09/2019 23:19

But then they would just be powdered fruit?

Lol. No the liquid is heated, the alcohol evaporates and is taken off through a still, and once all that is removed, all that is left is the water. And the fruit liquid in the water of course.

LangCleg · 16/09/2019 23:19

Ha. No. I do sloes in gin and caramel chocolate in vodka.

Bite away!

TinselAngel · 16/09/2019 23:16

Is now the time to tell you spirits are just wine that has had the water removed? I'm guessing not

But then they would just be powdered fruit?

TheAlternativeTentacle · 16/09/2019 23:14

But why would anyone want to start with gin, which already has a strong flavor

Because the sloes enhance that flavour in particular. Whereas vodka needs other flavours to make it taste of stuff.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 16/09/2019 23:13

Bite me.

You're going to put banana in it too, aren't you? Heathen.

Tyrotoxicity · 16/09/2019 23:13

Re badfeel, surely at a certain point it occurs to a person that the common denominator in the incidents of badfeel is more likely to be something they're doing rather than dozens of other people being bastards for no apparent reason?

Yep.

That's what they're pointing at when they're talking about hitting rock bottom.

I hit it back in 2010 and went into hermitage. If I'd never found MN I would never have found the way to start climbing back up and reintegrating. Not there yet but I'm powering forward. Grin

Aberhonddu · 16/09/2019 23:12

No, I wanted to agree with OP and then leave
So why haven't you left?

TheAlternativeTentacle · 16/09/2019 23:12

LangCleg · 16/09/2019 23:09

I like ordinary gin and sloe gin.

Bite me.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 16/09/2019 23:09

But why would anyone want to start with gin, which already has a strong flavor? Vodka and shoju are the best to infuse because they basically taste of nothing.

TheAlternativeTentacle · 16/09/2019 23:08

Because you use gin as your base liqueur. If you make say, dishwasher skittles vodka, you use vodka as your base.

Novembersbean · 16/09/2019 23:08

Thanks Tyro, I can see the truth in your analogy.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 16/09/2019 23:06

So if that's the case why is sloe gin called gin rather than sloe vodka? Have you hidden juniper berries in there?

TheAlternativeTentacle · 16/09/2019 23:05

Nope.

Tyrotoxicity · 16/09/2019 23:05

Gin gin, is literally the same as vodka; just with juniper berries added.

Brain glitch.

Back up.

You're kidding, right? Gin is made of booze and perfume and wet, vodka is made of booze and nail polish remover and wet. They're totally different things. Aren't they? Confused

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 16/09/2019 23:00

Like the candles smell! All cloying and artificial. Though speaking of wax, apparently Hersheys (American) chocolate contains it? I know they've changed the recipe for Dairy Milk but I hope that nobody in the boardroom is sitting there with a chart purporting to show how adding wax would extend their market share.

Re badfeel, surely at a certain point it occurs to a person that the common denominator in the incidents of badfeel is more likely to be something they're doing rather than dozens of other people being bastards for no apparent reason?
