I deleted my Strava account and told them why via twitter, the message is definitely out there no one I know who competes in sport at amateur level thinks this is fair, it's talked about openly.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 19/09/2019 19:46

Grc not gecko

TinklyLittleLaugh · 19/09/2019 19:46

I argued about the gecko with DH for years. He was having none of it. However he’s a keen triathlete and McKinnon peak transed him instantly.

Sporty people seem particularly enraged by men encroaching on women’s space. It is both surprising and refreshing.

StrangeLookingParasite · 19/09/2019 18:18

What a sack of stupid bastards (Strava, I mean).

2Rebecca · 19/09/2019 18:07

I haven't had another email from them

Melroses · 19/09/2019 16:51

I have seen pictures on Spinster where women have posted strava maps of bike rides that spell 'woman'. Possible in US cities with grid street patterns.

MagneticSingularity · 19/09/2019 16:25

now she faces harassment just for pinning on a number

Does "she"? Does "she" really? Hmm?
Nah, mate. Nah.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 19/09/2019 14:48

Dogs are nice, I like dogs. Fleas can be successfully treated, unlike narcissistic personality disorder.

LikeothersIamjustme · 19/09/2019 14:34

I'd rather wake up next to a basket full of dogs and covered in flea bites than anywhere near McKinnon or similar!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 14:05

Fleas - dogs - sleep with

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 19/09/2019 14:03

To be fair, if they back down now they'll probably have the Degenderettes on their doorstep tomorrow, pink and blue bats of social justice in hand.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 13:54

Quick - someone in Marketing get back on Hootsuite and delete the retweets! 🙄 San Francisco, huh. That explains a lot.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/09/2019 13:53

Athletes - pro and amateur - all know what's fair and what's not. It's called sportsmanship.

And the male athletes all know female athletes who work bloody hard to do their best as well, so they can all see the problem with crystal clarity.

This overreach by an entitled man is so blatant, nobody can help but be peaked by it.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 19/09/2019 13:51

Since the Twitter bio says they're in San Francisco my guess is that this may be the first time they're encountering the concept that hey, maybe not everyone is on board with the gender crap. The fact that they keep reposting the same thing, in the hopes of a different response I assume, suggests that they think this is a temporary glitch in the unreality matrix that will soon resolve itself.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 13:44

Maybe that’s the strategy?

WhereYouLeftIt · 19/09/2019 13:37

I looked at the Twitter handles of those responding to the Strava post, and I don't know them, they are outside my 'echo chamber'. Unsurprising given Strava has 176,273 followers! But IMO this means that Strava are reaching people who have not previously even been aware of this conflict. Reaching and peaking.

MrGHardy · 19/09/2019 12:19

Great, I put writing him on my to do list for the weekend.

And amazing, at the moment, every single comment is trashing Strava for this.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/09/2019 11:04

Gareth Nettleton is the VP of Marketing for Strava if anyone wanted to contact him to share thoughts on this:

"Gareth is responsible for all brand, communications, and local marketing initiatives across the globe. He is also a member of the management team at Strava steering future direction, focus and product evolution."

LikeothersIamjustme · 19/09/2019 10:42

RidewithGPS, Garmin? Not sure of others but will certainly be looking. I just cant believe after the initial backlash they didnt either delete the tweet or go away quietly, not all publicity is good publicity!!!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 10:39

Who would a competitor be then?

LikeothersIamjustme · 19/09/2019 10:36

Unreal. Has the strava account been hacked by a competitor because this is not doing them any favours!

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/09/2019 09:52

Second wave of people disgusted by Strava and McKinnon, as they double down and repost their ridiculous podcast.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 13/09/2019 18:14

We were talking football in the US with women. They (mostly lesbians) didn’t like her very much.

BarbaraStrozzi · 13/09/2019 18:11

MrG plus she may be a "true believer". I have a lesbian friend in this category. If you're happily settled in a long term relationship (which I believe Rapinoe is), and are never going to be facing pressure to date lady peen, I think there's a tendency to buy the L with the T stuff because you've been told repeatedly that "we're all oppressed minorities in this together." Plus if you never check out the suicide stats/ violence stats and realise that quite a lot of them are made up, you probably would believe the "most oppressed of the oppressed" line.

And yes to the adulation of the woke left - a very powerful intoxicant.

You'd hope though, at some stage she'd stop and think to herself "Martina Navratilova - she has doubts about this... why?" And start to do a little digging.

MrGHardy · 13/09/2019 18:07

LordProf

Megan is ending her career. She will never compete against males. She doesn't care.

Still disappointing though. But then again, she has tasted what it is like to be worshipped by the woke left, she is just continuing this now.
