Oh there were at least 700. There was not an empty seat in the whole of the QEII conference centre testing

testing987654321 · 31/08/2019 15:01

How many turned up to the talk in the summer about women's sports? Several hundred?

ThePurported · 31/08/2019 14:50

Good use of the word embarrassing there, Louise.

Remember when McK said "don't you know who I am" to Martina Navratilova? Grin

ThePurported · 31/08/2019 14:41

Yup. A cock flasher can be a 'nonbinary woman' and become a government advisor on women's rights and prison policy.

I can now share an email from the director of How To Academy. I've been sitting on this for days! It speaks for itself.

And I have NO IDEA what kind of a raging transphobe would edit McKinnon's wiki, to this, for example.

I suspect that the nonbinary women (does that mean women who don't conform to gender norms?) will come last in every outing, and quickly lose interest.

Jess Bradley is/was/whoknows a non binary woman.

OrchidInTheSun · 31/08/2019 13:59

That wiki page is fabulous GrinGrinGrin

Doyoumind · 31/08/2019 13:47

I saw about the cancellation on Twitter. Strangely no mention of it on RM's Twitter Grin

GirlDownUnder · 31/08/2019 13:40

It’s a real shame huh Cloudy

Someone also re-wrote RMcKs Wiki page

mobile.twitter.com/littlekittybell/status/1167548512097226752

“I wonder who on earth vandalised Rachel McKinnon's Wikipedia page? Whoever done it I'd like to buy them a pint.”

Someone’s not having a good morning Wink

Cloudyz7 · 31/08/2019 13:33

Just seen (via KF) that McK's UK speaking event has been cancelled due to lack of interest!

DarkNoise · 23/08/2019 21:35

Thank you GirlDownUnder and ErrolTheDragon Grin. Going to check the spinster thread!

ErrolTheDragon · 23/08/2019 11:38

We're not forced to use incorrect pronouns, we're barred from using correct ones if they're not an individual's preference. It's awkward, and difficult for some (in particular posters with ASD conditions) but isn't too bad a compromise imo. 'Context is key' - you won't get deleted for referring to eg Karen White as 'he'.

GirlDownUnder · 23/08/2019 08:57

Hey DarkNoise, I seem to be following you around - it’s not intentional Brew

They are MN mod’ing rules. We did revolt at the time. It was a compromise that MN made. Terms we (GC) found unacceptable were also banned ie terf, cis, and other (TRA) terms were banned TIM, etc

Deadnaming and correctly sexing are verboten and (if reported - MN don’t generally read threads) will get your post deleted. 3 deletions in a short period of time will get you perma banned.

Check out the sticky.

Yes, we try and work around, and it’s clunky but means we can at least have the convo.

Check out the Spinster thread. You might find it interesting.

DarkNoise · 23/08/2019 07:08

Sorry I do not mean to derail but genuine question: why are we forced to use pronouns we dot agree with, or where there is evidence of the contrary? My work is evidence based, in simple words, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, why am I forced to say it's a swan because they say so? This is where dogma and the inquisition begins.

Juells · 22/08/2019 09:41

'Nonbinary' women who aren't on T aren't in any way excluded from cycling

I suspect that the nonbinary women (does that mean women who don't conform to gender norms?) will come last in every outing, and quickly lose interest.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/08/2019 09:31

There are team pictures too.

And a list of their sponsors, which includes Thule. What are serious companies doing supporting the erosion of women's sports? Have they just not thought it through?

'Nonbinary' women who aren't on T aren't in any way excluded from cycling, surely to goodness it's not the sort of thing where there's any pressure to be gender conforming?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 22/08/2019 09:23

Hmm, 'Foxy'...🤔

Is there a furry alter ego I'm not aware of?

Or is it just more of the same smug/insufferable crap I'm familiar with?

Juells · 22/08/2019 09:19

We aim to do this by focusing on developing an elite women/trans/femme ( WTF )

Shurely shome mishtake

WTF? Is this a wind-up?

GirlDownUnder · 22/08/2019 08:11

Are we allowed to use pronouns we feel appropriate

Having read Oncewasblueandyellowtwos posts, I’d say they’ve been deleted for misgendering, s’why I never properly quoted in my reply and why I use RMcK.

Apart from the incorrect pronouns, nothing Once said was ‘controversial’. It sucks.

DarkNoise · 22/08/2019 06:18
  • do not feel comfortable - gah, it's still early!!!
DarkNoise · 22/08/2019 06:18

Are we allowed to use pronouns we feel appropriate for a burly, hefty individual, double the size and muscular mass, and of clearly different body shape than the women cyclists? Because I do not feel uncomfortable identifying such individual with "she/hers".

terfsandwich · 22/08/2019 04:51

They missed out on "predatory" in that description of the fox.
