I’ve already got 2 interested in ten minutes. Shall I book the royal Albert hall or the QEII centre?

WrathoSWhlttIeKIop · 03/09/2019 08:39

Apparently I'll get ejected if I am disruptive.

Cos I'm always getting into trouble me.
No, I just want to observeGrin

WrathoSWhlttIeKIop · 03/09/2019 08:32

GirlDownUnder
Racing in the masters cycling event at Manchester in October.
Those twitter comments lol.

I'd love to go to watch the show.
Itl be fucking marvelous. Grin

DickKerrLadies · 03/09/2019 07:58

Yeah I'd pay £25 to see that. It'd be more informative.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 03/09/2019 07:58

I could get more than 8 people to turn up if it was just me on stage farting the national anthem.

Will you take my £25 please LordProf? Grin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 03/09/2019 07:51

Look. I’ve organised many events in my time. I could get more than 8 people to turn up if it was just me on stage farting the national anthem.

GirlDownUnder · 03/09/2019 07:48

8 tickets - seems a lot judging by the rapturous not response when the talk was announced on twitter - check out those ratios 😂

And while digging for that screen grab, (re)found this twitter thread

mobile.twitter.com/rachelvmckinnon/status/1161253932984950786

😂😂😂😂 flights paid for and and paying an honorarium.

By the by what happened to the $30k paid speaking tour in Japan (RM first mentioned beginning of August saying it was 6 weeks away)!?

8 tickets? That’s not huge and there was a lot of publicity. They need a better PR.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 03/09/2019 07:24

McKinnon's talk has been rescheduled just like my prostate exam has been rescheduled.

Both happening on the 12th of never.

AnyOldPrion · 03/09/2019 07:22

I believe the Wiki page has been edited more than once. Dr Louise Moody was responsible for the version pictured upthread, I believe.

GirlDownUnder · 03/09/2019 00:25

Maria Mac was responsible for the wiki page. She blogged about it. Star

I posted up thread that RMcK tweeted that the talk was rescheduled for early next year....

Well KF begs to differ - whoops.

If was going to pay for a talk, I'd want it to be by someone who understands that they need to know what they're talking about, rather than someone who asserts otherwise....

I wish the wikijacker had included the full title to Mczkinnons thesis, the people who (in)corrected it might have left that in as its objectively true.

JoyceJeffries · 01/09/2019 18:40

I might go to a McKinnon talk if I was given £25. Who is insane enough to want to pay to see McKinnon talking about eating pies, cheating at cycling and working at some shitville university? Hardly inspirational.

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 01/09/2019 18:06

Excellent Wiki!

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 01/09/2019 17:50

I can see a McKinnon talk being popular with all of their twitter followers...

Picture it now, close your eyes, see the hall see the chairs.. each taken by a McKinnon Twitter follower.. three real people, 100 empty places and 64 socks..

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/09/2019 14:52

I doubt if their Twitter followers have the attention span to sit through a 15-30 minute talk.

I'm sure automated bot accounts can sit through a lot.

RoyalCorgi · 01/09/2019 14:45

I strongly suspected McKinnon would be hard pushed to find people to attend even if the ticket prices were brought down to £5. Who is going to be interested? I doubt if their Twitter followers have the attention span to sit through a 15-30 minute talk.

ThePurported · 01/09/2019 14:03

I'd pay £25 to hear someone like Martina Navratilova talk about fairness in sports.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 01/09/2019 13:58

How arrogant would you have to be to think people would pay £25 to hear you?

ThePurported · 01/09/2019 13:53

Yeah, not sure about rescheduling if ticket sales were embarrassing, and that's before McK had gloated at a young woman's terminal cancer.
If it does happen, I'll go along if it's free, I'm quite partial to bad science as entertainment.

testing987654321 · 01/09/2019 12:46

Loving that it's got "nothing to do with them" meaning feminists complaining about RM.

No, it's to do with the fact that no-one is interested in what RM has to say.

MockersthefeMANist · 01/09/2019 12:43

Just cut the ticket prices and we'll all come.

thirdfiddle · 01/09/2019 12:38

Suspect someone failed to recognise an ultra polite British brush off. We'll see.

Backintheclosit123 · 01/09/2019 04:44

The first notice did not mention rescheduling at all. Poor Rach, did you have to plead very much for them to add that? In a pigs eye has it been rescheduled. Grin
