I have never heard of this person before but she has popped up on my timeline this morning. She describes herself as GC feminist. No one can seem to follow her. Everyone that does follow her, is immediately removed. I have clicked on the follow button several times this morning already but as soon as you refresh, it’s gone.

I was happy to believe it a glitch but they will not respond to any emails or DMs about the situation. Either way it’s been a frustrating few days.

Weird. I usually go with the cockup rather than conspiracy theory, but the number of gcf who have been thrown off twitter (another round recently) makes it very very suspicious. Is this what they do instead thinking it would be quieter?

I was locked out for suspicious activity but wasn’t able to unlock, so contacted twitter. They told me I was locked for abusive behaviour, but no reports against me had been upheld. They unlocked me immediately but the follower saga has been ongoing since then.

Tentatively raises hand to say that I am Katie Barker and I have no idea why all of my followers were purged or why no one is able to follow me now. Twitter are not responding to my emails or DMs.

I’ve been on Twitter for over 8 years and I have never come across this. Mind you I’m new to GC. It’s awful!

She is shadow banned I think. I've no idea how long those kind of bans last. It's horrible the way some women are treated on Twitter. But it's a useful reminder that it remains a man's world and women are only ever tolerated in it. Online is no different; in some ways it's way waaay worse.
