I posted a link to this even some time ago and there have been various comments and more recently one for an organiser of the event which has been really interesting.

Then just now mumsnet have deleted it saying it is because it has a go fund me link in it.

Well I posted that some time ago and nobody said anything. And as I have also posted that on a number of other threads I apologise if they get deleted.

What is the problem.

We are trying to support Lesbians and some red tape that users aren't aware of do this hatchet job.

Why didn't you just deleted the post with the go fund me link.

If I believed in conspiracy theories I would say mumsnet has been nobbled by the lesbian erasure strand of transactivism.

Heavy handed and unecessary.

The usual barriers to women's participation (caring responsibilities) prevent me from attending). But wishing you all the best for a great march and lack of hassle.

2BthatUnnoticed · 06/09/2019 07:43

Hope it goes well - enjoy everyone 💚💜

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/09/2019 19:59

Best wishes to all attending, I hope it goes well.

Cooroo · 05/09/2019 19:08

I'm going to support as straight woman. Aiming for station 1pm, can I come and say hi to likely looking women?!

spinninghag · 05/09/2019 00:33

Watching Magdalen yet again:

Angryresister · 04/09/2019 10:02

We will arrive at the station at about 1pm and happy to meet up with anyone for a snack and drink as we can't stay later. We will have a piece of lavender coloured material with us ..for recognition purposes.

2BthatUnnoticed · 04/09/2019 00:25

Tyro I expect the answer is yes but people need to be discreet in these dystopian times Smile

2BthatUnnoticed · 04/09/2019 00:24

All strength to you and I hope it goes great, if I was in the UK I would love to line the road and cheer you all on 💜💚

stumbledin · 04/09/2019 00:19

And of course, taking the hint from another FWR thread, will there be public women's toilets or is Leeds so woke they are all gender non conforming.

Maybe we could have a token sit in and reclaim the amenities for women!

Nice weather, banners, pots and pans and singing Smile

Good to know.

My other question was "will there be a horde of mumsnetters in the pub afterwards?" but this is perhaps best not answered publicly!

PegasusRex · 03/09/2019 11:43

You can meet for the rally in Millenium Sq, there will be stewards there to meet women too.

Tyrotoxicity · 03/09/2019 11:22

Those who meet the entry requirements for the rally but not the march - lurk at the end, line the route, wander alongside? How do these things work? I have no idea.

PegasusRex · 03/09/2019 09:35

Hi women :)
just wanted to post a quick update in case anyone needs any more info (feel free to pm message me too)

  • City square is close to the station, we are happy to meet women in the station, just get in touch and let us know when you are arriving.
  • March starts at 2:30. As posted above, unfortunately there is a free Tommy Robinson march at 11:30. The police are aware obviously and will be there for our march and we have our own stewards. We've planned the security side carefully to make sure that everyone can enjoy it.
-Sadly its 2019 and there can't be a lesbian only event without protestors. We need to be able to make some noise. Bring something to bang (pan/lid and spoon have been suggested)
  • Anyone who still needs help with transport costs, you can still get in touch via email ([email protected])

I'm sure I've forgotten stuff so I'll probably be back in 5m Smile. In spite of all the shit, I am really looking forward to Saturday. Can't wait to meet you all

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 03/09/2019 00:30

Anyone who is a regular and authenticated poster PM me if you want to meet up beforehand. The Tommy Robinson thing is a worry but it does mean there will be extra police in town.

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 03/09/2019 00:26

The weather forecast is for dry and sunny spells. Banners are being made.

Would that the March in the morning really were fascist free...

stumbledin · 02/09/2019 19:37

Update from Lesbian Strength on twitter (which I dont normally look at!)

Please be aware that there will be a fascist Free Tommy Robinson march in Leeds at 11am on Sept 7th.

We are still hoping that our march will be incident free and the police are fully aware but all women need to know that fascists and antifa may be around still.

Not sharing to cause any worries, but as tweet says to keep women informed.

(I was looking at twitter as I had thought the fundraiser was to help women with fares who cant afford to travel but there has been no info about how to claim. So am now wondering if I shared this wrong information. If so sorry. If its true, its getting quite late for women to claim and so be able to plan travel)

Anyone know the weather forecast?!

Will the lovely Leeds Spinners and their inspired "wrong side of history my arse" banner be taking part?

2BthatUnnoticed · 26/08/2019 00:32

Banners are great! I don’t know how anyone could be unfavourable about lesbian positivity and visibility, I hope it is an amazing day 💚💜

Angryresister · 25/08/2019 22:32

banner made with lots of sweat and tears! Interestingly received very positive comments from heterosexual women...less favourable from some lesbians... However it will be coming on the March with us if it survives the journey!

stumbledin · 25/08/2019 00:02

Well looks like there is at least one local paper who thinks there is no problem with finding out about and reporting that their will be a Lesbian March and Rally in Leeds.

I tracked down that page that got the previous thread deleted and did that thing the TRAs so desperately want to stop us from doing.

It's glorious to see women joining together, defying bullies and standing proud in defence of their right to set their own boundaries.

spinninghag · 24/08/2019 01:40

Bumping thread for awareness! Event happening soon!

spinninghag · 22/08/2019 10:36

Shared this on a podcasts thread, but felt I ought to cross-post it here.

Wonderful interview about the Lesbian Strength March.

I'd like to come over for the march as an ally, is there any chance someone could put me up for the night?Or anyway to contact those who are attending?
