Your plan to overthrow patriarchy

New to MN since last month.
Can you please tell us here your plan to overthrow patriarchy?

I think the reason patriarchy continues to a very large part, is because of the rampant unpunished abuse and killing of women.
So my plan is that all women should unite in all democratic countries to ensure that feminist analysis of women’s and men’s behaviour is taken into account, so police do not ignore women's abuse and that the rapist does not go free because the woman froze in the moment and did not cry out, as an example.

An immediate action could be to start a UK Parliament Petition with a heading of – “The UK Government and the Police have a problem with institutional misogyny.”

Men are united 100%, there are no laws that benefit women and harm all men. But there many many laws that benefit men and harm all women.

My rallying call for women to unite was called vacuous, hence this question for all here.

I hope every one can say what their plan is, to overthrow patriarchy.

If you do not have one, can you say why, I will make it easier for everyone by listing some obvious possible reasons for you individually not to have a plan.

  1. Patriarchy should not be overthrown – please give your reason.
  2. It can not be overthrown by women – as above.
  3. It will be overthrown only by men when they decide for whatever reasons – women do not need to have plan.
  4. It will never be “overthrown” – the best women can do is make the life of women better in small ways – as has happened over the last few thousand years and you accept that it will be another few hundred or thousand years for all women’s suffering to end for just being born a woman. Women do not need a plan, just carry on as now. Pease also state your time scale.
  5. It will be actively overthrown but you yourself do not need to have a plan, it is other’s job to have any plan. Please say who.
  6. You will have a plan, but at the moment you are prioritising your own existence because of money, career, partner, family etc. – Please say how many years before you will have a plan yourself.
  7. You are actively researching and will be formulating a plan soon – please indicate a timeline.

I don’t necessarily want this to be a discussion thread among a small number, but want to know from as many different members as possible, as to their own individual stance on this question if possible, thank you.

I think it's a bit much to ask individual women exactly what they are going to do to "overthrow patriarchy" as you should understand individual women have very little power or influence.

Feminism works collectively.
When you follow feminist groups and feminists working together you can see, bit by bit, the small but significant achievements that are made by them.

It's a gradual process and in the west the gradual process has resulted in thousands of small but significant changes that have benefited women.

You can't expect one woman from the UK on Mumsnet (MN is predominantly UK based) to tell you how she plans to stop FGM in Northern Africa, or women being trafficked across Asia for sexual exploitation, or how to stop prostitution or rape across the globe (these are all examples of patriarchy in action).

It's not something that can be done by individual women on their own.

"The plan" is as it has always been. Raising conscience. Collective lobbying. Gaining the support of people in power. Supporting feminist causes financially and helping them share their message to reach a wide audience as possible.

What's your plan?

I think most of us are doing what we can bit by bit to make the world better for women.
And yes, I 'prioritize my own existence' while doing so. I like existing.
When it comes to money or family, I prioritize my child and I having a roof over our heads and food in the cupboard.
I think it is a feminist issue that so many women do spend their time prioritizing their existences and those of their children instead of drawing up personal plans to overthrow the patriarchy.
As far as time lines go, I think that can best be summed up with a meme.
