Two or three reasons I guess, hypothetically, if the report is true, why the police might search hard drives and have this action permitted in a search warrant:

From where is the suspect obtaining the alleged illegal devices?

Is anyone else involved with the suspect in providing or obtaining said illegal devices?

Does the suspect have any kind of 'hit list'?

What a bizarre story, though. The whole of it. That it's been allowed to come to this ... I hope those girls get justice.

So this article shows screenshots of Yaniv messaging a young girl, saying he ‘accidentally’ clicked on ‘kiddy porn’ and does she ‘wanna see?’
This girl has apparently gone to the police. Surely the police involvement must be due to these complaints?
If not, what do you need to do in Canada to be investigated ffs?!?

Well I know the Elmo recipient logged an official complaint, so it's possible they are there for more than one reason. Imagine they'll want everything super locked up tight though before any arrest is made for internet related activities, knowing how litigious JY is

Surely they could access the computer to find out where he purchased said Taser from and if by doing so they find evidence of other crimes well so be it!

I dont know about canadian law but pretty sure in UK if the raid relates to the taser then that would not allow a computer to be searched - different crimes.

However they may have enough evidence relating to his inappropriate online behaviour to look into both crimes.

If she gets locked up, hopefully all the men in a prison will all spontaneously identify as women at te same time. So she can go there and be with the other women.

hopefully the delay has been because they were collating evidence to allow them to get a warrant to seize JY's phone/computers etc - this individual being so litigious and all i imagine that is the reason for them being so careful

This is good news. I hope they confiscate his computers and all his devices and go through them very thoroughly. With all the red flags he's set off if that happened in this country I'd like to think they'd search his hard drive. (Are we allowed to say his here? I can't think of him as a woman).
