On twitter, seems true enough. Lets hope they confiscate all the computer equipment.

'Cept perhaps EM Forster who in The Machine Stops published in 1909 foresaw the internet...

Absolutely. The Machine Stops gets more prophetic by the year.

I don’t think science fiction should necessarily be judged by how accurate their predictions are but The Machine Stops, Swastika Night, 1984, Fahrenheit 451 and The Handmaid’s Tale have never been more relevant.

If police are now after someone they might not like the receipts the farmers keep.

Sexnotgender · 06/08/2019 18:54

It's having a denial of service attack.

Ooft, wonder who could possibly be upset with them. Can’t think of anyone...

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 06/08/2019 18:51

I‘m hoping that the Canadian police have just been biding their time until they could unequivocally nail this pervert.

Who or what are The Farmers?

I’m guessing kiwifarm but could be wrong!

MargueritaBlue · 06/08/2019 18:48

The website Kiwi Farms which has kept a long running dossier on Yaniv.

Juells · 06/08/2019 18:44

The Farmers are under attack - coincidence?

Who or what are The Farmers?

Perhaps he was using the genderless 'they' for the mother?

AncientLights · 06/08/2019 18:25

Yet when Blaire White asked about the parents in the 'debate' last night, Yaniv talked in the plural as in 'they' are supportive, although I think there's little doubt that father is dead.

The Farmers are under attack - coincidence?

It seems Yaniv & Mama are elsewhere and the apartment is under guard. I read that having a taser is in the same category as having a machine gun in Canada. At least Canada is capable of doing something right.

ThePankhurstConnection · 06/08/2019 18:14

Does he still live with his mum? Is his dad around at all? Wondering if it is his own flat or a family home that has been raided.

His dad is dead. He and his mother live in different apartments in different stratas which are next to each other. Apparently she is round there all the time. They both own their apartments.

SarahTancredi · 06/08/2019 17:35

And will they be put into a womens prison with children...Hmm

Not seeing the downside for themSad

Trohmaniac · 06/08/2019 17:18

I wonder if Yaniv is tried and found guilty of any sexual grooming of underage girls, will it be recorded as a female crime because he's legally recognised as female in Canada?

Gingerkittykat · 06/08/2019 17:04

No doubt we will see a video about the transphobic bullying by the police in a couple of days.

"He saw all this long before it happened"

It's always been happening, he just realised the end point before most.

Lawlsie1976 · 06/08/2019 15:28

One of the comments on that National Post story: "If the government can tell you that you must believe a man is really a woman then I guess they can tell you anything."

You know, I really hadn't thought of it like that! Reminds me of that scene in Nineteen Eighty Four when O'Brien asks Winston Smith how many fingers he's holding up when he holds up four. Four replies Winston. "And if the party says five?" Four repeats Winston to which he gets a painful electric shock.

The word is much over used but Orwell really was a genius wasn't he? He saw all this long before it happened. How many writers can ever say that? 'Cept perhaps EM Forster who in The Machine Stops published in 1909 foresaw the internet... though not mumsnet!

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 06/08/2019 15:21

I'm really hoping they don't hand wave away all the grooming accusations and that the taser is just part of the investigation.

I'm not sure, on the one hand Yaniv is getting too much publicity, so they might actually do something, but on the other, the police are generally all in on it.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 06/08/2019 15:13

Oger, who was among the first to investigate Yaniv’s past

Oh, this is how they are trying to spin Oger's involvement with this, is it.

Not a chance

OvaHere · 06/08/2019 15:08

About time. I'm really hoping they don't hand wave away all the grooming accusations and that the taser is just part of the investigation.

CoolCarrie · 06/08/2019 15:04

This has made my day! Sick fuck and as Monkers said the Mounties always get their man, brilliant news

heathspeedwell · 06/08/2019 14:58

Miranda Yardley was among the first to investigate Yaniv's past, while Oger was still saying stuff like we all have to do things at work that we don't like and this is 2019.

TurboTeddy · 06/08/2019 14:46

In the National Post article,

Oger, who was among the first to investigate Yaniv’s past,

Hmm that's not how the farmers report it and if recall they have receipts.

Michelleoftheresistance · 06/08/2019 14:15

Oh dear, could this get any more embarrassing for the Canadian government?

The police will have desperately wanted not to have to get involved with this highly litigious loose cannon so if they've done this they must have grounds they can't overlook and a certainty they're going to find what they're looking for. That's going to make the HR hearings look even more of an indefensible farce.

Which girlband did Yaniv work for? They mentioned it during their interview with BW?

It's explained in the article linked by Mockers.
