Do any of these 'woke' companies do even the tiniest bit of research before jumping on the transwagon? Staff tips to Mermaids; how generous of them. Wonder if they asked the staff?

Do these companies ever come back and reply to anyone, let alone explain or defend?

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 06/08/2019 09:55

I agree that staff tips shouldn't be up for donation. I've heard the owners of brewdog are arsehole though, my DH works in a related industry and doesn't rate them at all!

Brewdog have always revelled I’m adverse publicity. They definitely seem to follow ‘all publicity is good publicity’. But can they give away staff tips? Surely they aren’t theirs to give?

Ahhhh beer for girls, that was it.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 06/08/2019 09:49

Brewdog court controversy with every single ad or promotion they do.
The last one (I think) was the Pink IPA, cheaper if you're female to represent the 20% gender pay gap.
Ended in a man suing them for gender discrimination.
They love the publicity.

Comments are good. Lots of links discrediting mermaids. Will be interesting to see what they do especially if this is a local decission and it impacts the company as a whole.

Hmmmm Brewdog rings a bell from somewhere...

I'll go and advanced search

If you'd made up this exchange people would have accused you or being too fanciful:

Oh ffs. I liked the little cans they do.

Thankfully there's other brands. Thankfully the other beer drinker in this house is also against sterilising gay kids.

DuMondeB · 06/08/2019 09:43

Companies giving staff tips to charity and bragging about it for PR is not a good look, even without the dodgy mermaids stuff.

I can’t load it up as I don’t have Twitter
