Putting it here rather than in the TV section. One minute in and it's fucking horrible.

Interesting bit now about MH consequences of tech culture.

I am however glad they showed how some are just lonely people looking for support.

Because that really counterpointed they misogynistic groupings. The video statement by the mass killer at the start was horrible, and I'm not remotely surprised that no one wants to meet Mr Catfisher.

The man with the scabby skin said it was from using steroids.
He said he took them because that's what he thought women wanted Sad

Catfish guy needs locking up somewhere very secure.

The father of the girl who died is amazing.

I didn't think I'd be able to carry on watching this after the first two guys.
It's absolutely terrifying thinking about these men out there.

The third guy with the dogs seemed sweet though. He seemed so lonely I wondered if he had any friends or family around.
They put so much importance on needing women.

Catfish man is completely deranged Shock

Do they talk about prostitution at all? The word Incel strikes me as being men who don't want to pay for it, because they see a distinction between paid for sex and actual sex, whereas quite a lot of men don't.

If these men don't pay for prostitutes then I don't think they're as creepy as men who do:l. If they do pay prostitutes then scrap that!

HollowTalk · 31/07/2019 23:23

Did they say what was the matter with that guy's skin? He seemed so much happier now that he'd got a girlfriend, albeit one he hadn't met yet.

Yes, that catfisher is really awful. I honestly don't know what I'd do with these guys - you could lock them up but when they came out they'd be even worse.

The catfisher really does show what it's all about. It's fine for him to lust after women who are more attractive than him (the vast majority)... any women who lust after attractive men are EVIL.

NorksofPlenty · 31/07/2019 23:03

This last guy was much better, but I'm not sure I can watch much more, it's gone far too dark and upsetting with the rape narrative and now the murders. It's important that it's being discussed, but it's making me feel sick.

HollowTalk · 31/07/2019 22:52

It's making me furious, too. So bloody entitled and sorry for themselves.

Don't know if I'll make it through the whole programme. It's making me so angry.

LolaSmiles · 31/07/2019 22:49

I can imagine. I watched whilst feeling rubbish with pregnancy sickness one afternoon. I'm not sure there is a good time to watch it.

HollowTalk · 31/07/2019 22:45

I'm so glad it's being looked at, but it's not a good programme for this time of night.

Watching it. Sad

LolaSmiles · 31/07/2019 22:41

I watched it on iPlayer last week

It's really disturbing that some of those men feel entitled to have sex with women they deem to be hot.
Then one of them (the creepy arrogant one) catfishes women and harassed them for not being interested in him. Part of me wondered if anyone has pointed out that many average, normal people have relationships; the reason no woman will date you is because you're a misogynistic creep.
