Are feminists getting played?

It makes me sad that feminists are spending so much time banging on about bathrooms in a world that has women still working for no pay, old women still more likely to be poor, surrogacy, underfunded maternity care, and poor support for carers. And other stuff.

Yes, the trans thing is annoying, but have you noticed how it always fires up before major elections? It's like Afghanistan in the 80s when the US provided just enough weapons to keep the war going so Russia would use all it's energy and get weak.

I feel like feminism is getting distracted with the trans stuff. At most, it should take up 10 percent of our feminist attention. But I rarely see feminism these days that isn't all about trans. Seriously. Do you think we're getting played here? Is trans really such a big deal?

Cool, sakura. Neither do I. Which is why most of my posts on here try to focus on women and their rights, as I do in my engagement elsewhere, online and off.

I'm really confused as to why people don't realize that I get the points, all the points, about trans. I got them years and years ago. I realized fuck me this defines women out of existence as a class and we will no longer be able to name our oppression.

I get it. So can we move on from having the issues explained to me as nauseum.

And despite having understood all of this, a long time ago, and despite having gotten myself into hot water by slagging off my trans boss online on YouTube .

Despite all of that, I still just actually think trans doesn't merit the attention feminists give it.

I thought Cohle was saying it was Datun wotdunnit. Then I got confused when I am apparently the gleeful one so I thought she was saying it was me wotdunnit. With the lead piping. In the library. Or something. But no. It's guilty after the fact. Is it? I think it is. But I'm easily confused.

clearly, perfectly possible to express GC viewpoints here without falling foul of those policies.

I don't give a shit where people chose to find humour. I was responding to a poster who accused me of having something was "wrong with my outlook" if I thought posters were being gleeful, when quite patently they were - as they have now acknowledged.

Have you got anything to say about the fact that using the correct pronouns for a person's sex gets you deleted here Cohle ? as opposed to just not liking people's attitudes?

MN's policies are clear and we all agree to be bound by them when we post here. It's
clearly, perfectly possible to express GC viewpoints here without falling foul of those policies.
