Hello, Mumsnetters! I have written about Aimee Challenor for Feminist Current. Please have a look! www.feministcurrent.com/2019/07/24/why-is-aimee-challenor-still-advising-stonewall/

Thanks Glinner
Just hoping someone at Stonewall takes the opportunity to 'refresh' that advisory group soon. So inappropriate.

Lumene · 25/07/2019 16:25

Great piece, thanks.

I find it so ironic that something that reads like a terribly sick black comedy is pretty much only being shouted about from the rooftops by a comedian.

Its like even in what could be a black comedy, there is none more black than this.

nonsenceagain · 25/07/2019 14:55

Thanks Glinner

DeRigueurMortis · 25/07/2019 14:53

Great stuff!!!

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 25/07/2019 14:46

The Challenor story - David, Aimee and now this very sinister fiance - is beyond troubling.

Thanks for an excellent article, Glinner

Excellent - will share this wherever I can.

frazzled1 · 25/07/2019 13:42

Great piece.

But there are others — and I think David Challenor was one of them — who have a vested interest in lowering the standards of safeguarding in the UK and silencing those who raise the alarm about it.

Absolutely. This I find terrifying.

sackrifice · 25/07/2019 13:36

Heyla, heyla sheyla / Heyla sheyla / Heyla, ho! Heyla, heyla sheyla / Heyla sheyla / Heyla, ho

Good piece.

The main issue with AC advising Stonewall can best be explained within the context of what happens to people working in jobs which require advanced DBS clearance. If they have someone living in their house (they don't have to be in a relationship with them) who would not pass DBS, they cannot be employed in such posts.

AC is about to marry a man who sends up so many safeguarding red flags it's like a bloody military parade in Red Square - but Stonewall (and the Libdems) cheerfully ignore it because - woke blindness to reality.

Redshoeblueshoe · 25/07/2019 13:12

Thanks Glinner

HollowTalk · 25/07/2019 12:33

Great article.

And you can imagine the kicking off that would take place if Yaniv didn't get through the interview stage.

Datun · 25/07/2019 12:23

As Helen also pointed out, “In all seriousness now, if Yaniv was in the UK and so inclined, [Yaniv] could be a girl guide leader. Girlguiding policy is that being a woman is a matter of self ID. Anyone who says they’re a woman can be a leader. Assuming [Yaniv] passed a DBS check (no convictions) then [Yaniv] is in.”

Fucking A.

Yesterday I said the exploitation of these laws is only limited by the imagination of the predator.

But I haven't even thought of that.
