I'm using a capital letter for the pronoun now for these very special ladies. It highlights their specialness, and also reminds me of God, He also gets a capital letter. It's only right.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 23/07/2019 08:36

The whole point is to affirm that the babies’ genitals were an administrative mistake. I loved the sarcasm in that one - even though he had to confirm it later!

IfNot · 23/07/2019 08:25

Sorry yes. She is very ladylike.

Erythronium · 23/07/2019 08:13

Oops, I used the right pronoun. Sorry Mumnset.

Because this very special lady doesn't get to use the female changing rooms with the other not so special ladies if She plays on the men's team.

Erythronium · 23/07/2019 08:11

Because he doesn't get to use the female changing rooms then.

Despite the AFL declaring publicly that surgery is not a prerequisite for transgender players to participate, this is not universally understood and accepted. This leads to incidents of vilification, players being turned away and accusations of clubs fielding trans players having an unfair advantage. In my case, it’s been accusations that I’m a man – and that’s been too hurtful to ignore – triggering my trauma and dysphoria to the extent that some weeks I cannot train or play.

So.. an un-altered bloke gets upset when he plays against women and they point out he's a bloke?
Why can't he play "as a woman"(in lipstick) against other dudes? It's 2019. I'm sure they would be fine with it.

Erythronium · 22/07/2019 21:51

A complete lady. Slightly scary, but still very ladylike.

I'm sure she's got a very feminine adam's apple.

It's from a month ago.

Oops! Must read more carefully.

Me too! Bit too quick to think the worst of the G, easily done.

Rubidium · 22/07/2019 21:47

She's female through and through.

Of course she is. www.paradisemusic.com.au/simona-castricum

OMG

"Is a Trans Victorian someone who was born in either the 20th or 21st century but identifies as having been born in the 19th? A bit like Jacob Rees Mogg? Do they campaign for their birth certificates to be changed from e.g. 1975 to 1875?" genius Rubidium GENIUS.

I totally identify as Trans Victorian.

And, although I believe your post is genius, I would respectfully argue that Victorians, with their franchise enlargement, giving women's right and rise of Trade Unions are far too open and radical for JRM... I believe he is Trans Stuart.

Erythronium · 22/07/2019 21:20

How can a man watch a woman giving birth and still believe he's a woman? It's nuts.

Nothing to do with the lovely, fragrant Simona of course. She's female through and through.

OvaHere · 22/07/2019 21:04

The other type of Victorian could put an interesting twist on things though. Grin

Rubidium · 22/07/2019 21:02

Ova Here yes, I think they are Smile

OvaHere · 22/07/2019 20:59

I puzzled about that for a second. They are talking about Victoria, Australia I think.

Rubidium · 22/07/2019 20:50

Sidebar link in the article:
"Trans Victorians can alter birth certificates without surgery under Labor plan"

Apollo440 · 22/07/2019 20:49

Jeez what a text book narcissist.

ArabellaDoreenFig · 22/07/2019 20:48

So this person chose to be know as Simona Castricum

And we have to call this person by that name. But we can’t call this person a man because it could hurt feelings.

The media can try to pretend all it likes but we do see these arseholes for what they are. And do you know what @MNHQ if you don’t like that we see it, we name it then you need to have a word with yourself about who exactly your website is for.

Outanabout · 22/07/2019 20:43

"When I experience transphobia I just tackle harder". What does that mean? That they play rougher? Confused

As always, under the whinging about delicate feelings and being hurt, the sense of entitlement is ginormous.

SouthChinaSea234 · 22/07/2019 20:38

As an adopted person I have always found it quite extraordinary that I cannot obtain a birth certificate recording my adoptive parents as my parents.

The justification for this is that they were not my parents (even though legally they are my parents! ) and that to create such a birth certificate would be to create a lie.

Why can the 100s of thousands of adopted people in the UK be refused this?

Why should this right be offered to transgender people?

OldCrone · 22/07/2019 20:34

Another article from the lovely Simona, telling us how brave and stunning Simona is.

As for comments being closed, this is par for the course with The Guardian after a couple of days and this article was 4 days ago.

It's from a month ago. And with articles like this, if they open comments at all it's usually only for a few hours. And most of them don't pass moderation (most of mine don't, anyway).

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 22/07/2019 20:26

money is scarce at The Guardian

There is a reason people are not wanting to read it.

MrsJoyless · 22/07/2019 20:24

The writer seemed particularly concerned that a person's trans status should be kept private. Is there any protection in law to prevent a man who hopes to become a father from unknowingly marrying a transwoman with an altered birth certificate?

NotAtMyAge · 22/07/2019 20:19

Guardian Australia, so the comments are at least partly from Australians, who don't seem to be wholly on-board. The article used all the tropes of "administrative violence" and "coercively assigned gender at birth without consent" but most readers weren't having any of it. The top-rated comments are really very good and definitely gender-critical.

As for comments being closed, this is par for the course with The Guardian after a couple of days and this article was 4 days ago. It costs money to moderate and money is scarce at The Guardian,
