Should feminist petitions stay in Feminist Chat?

Another petition has been shuffled off Feminist Chat to languish in the tumbleweed of the Petitions board.

I can totally understand that petitions in AIBU or _Chat could be annoying, and if they were allowed MN might get overrun with petitions.

But AIBU to think feminism is different as it is by definition an activist part of the site? Feminism isn't just chat, it's about doing stuff also.

Would you like to see feminist petitions stay in FWR? (i.e. on this board) instead of being hidden away on the Petitions board?

Do any regular users of the feminist boards actually object to feminist petitions being here?

I think MN should make an exception to the petitions rule for petitions on the feminist boards. What do you think?

Is it a rule that petitions must be in the petitions board? If so, would be allowed to have maybe a petitions thread in fwr to notify people of new petitions on that board or even link to them (to their place on the petitions board) so they get more traffic?

I'd prefer them to be on fwr.

Fwr petitions on this board, Brexit petitions on the Brexit board...Sen petitions on the Sen board. Etc etc. Can understand keeping them off aibu and chat but if they relate to a specific topics they should be there.if it all gets a bit silly and overpowering have a rethink.

Definitely agree, and not just petitions. Someone asked for advice on helping a potentially homeless friend of her child. It got over 15 replies with some, hopefully, helpful suggestions in a couple of days. Then it was moved to the LGBT children section of Being a Parent, and no further contributions.

FWR gets so much traffic it makes sense to keep relevant topics right here.

If it wasn't in FWR, I'd have not seen and signed

I've signed lots of petitions on the basis of them being in FWR. And, I expect to find new petitions here.

What seems to happen is they get posted here, women sign, then they get shuffled off to petitions and that's pretty much the end of it.

I don't think I've ever found a petition via the petitions board.

I really think MNHQ should make an exception for FWR petitions. It just doesn't make sense the way it's being done now.

agree OP - Feminist chat is a key place for political organising for me, and petitions are a part of that.
