Right you lot check your privilege and go hunting for your morality.

Just adding this because it's comforting to know that most people can see the emperor is naked.

It would be interesting to see an undergraduate exam set by Sally. I would fail. I probably would not understand the questions.

arranbubonicplague · 16/07/2019 21:30

Right you lot check your privilege and go hunting for your morality.

I do my best to abide by Dworkin's guidance that women should support women wherever possible but occasionally I find myself faced by a woman whose (inherited from her father plus acquired) privilege is trumping her sex (oh, the irony) and creating real world paradoxes.

Sally, you've let yourself down.
You've let the reputation of academia down.
Most of all, you've let the perceived value of education down.

ZebrasAreBras · 16/07/2019 21:28

I think it is like Stockholm syndrome.

Like the women who argued against women having the vote (probably to ingratiate themselves to men, and act very subservient, feminine and docile?)

Centring women in feminism, and not people with penises, just seems so bloody obvious to me. It's like, how can anyone not think this? What has happened to feminism? It's been appropriated by men, and women like Sally Hines.

AnotherAdultHumanFemale · 16/07/2019 21:20

I find some of the things women who support this movement say staggering. It's like they are devoid of critical thinking skills and are unable to see why, just maybe, a lot of women are not on board with trans ideology.

I find it particularly staggering to the point of it being funny, when they say things like 'you're not a proper feminist' to gender critical women who are centring women in their feminism. There really is nothing less feminist than actively working to remove same-sex protected spaces, calling women bigots for not wanting men in their toilets, and telling lesbians that their sexuality is 'bigoted.' Yet bizarrely they are unable to see it. Also, it's funny how they think all of us are right wing, when pretty much everyone who has spoken up about this publicly is left wing, often academic and often lesbian.

It's like they are brainwashed and have Stockholm syndrome.

JoyceJeffries · 16/07/2019 21:08

She’s as thick as mince.

NeurotrashWarrior · 16/07/2019 21:02

🤣 Kat!

ScrimshawTheSecond · 16/07/2019 20:57

Hines is very keen to apply what she thinks of as objectionable labels to those who disagree, isn't she? It's actually a bit odd.

For a movement so focussed on people asserting Who They Are without question, there certainly seems to be a lot of time spent on asserting Who You Are, In Their Opinion, Even If You Say You Are Not.

Trying to control the narrative, I suppose?

ZebrasAreBras · 16/07/2019 20:54

Magic words don't alter your sex

Seems so very obvious, doesn't it?

Oh, but clown fish!! Grin Wink

Poor Nemo. He/she/they never wanted to be appropriated for TRA argument Sad

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 16/07/2019 20:51

Is she performance art? Or like Mrs Merton?

Michelleoftheresistance · 16/07/2019 20:47

That woman really is depressingly stupid. And makes up for it with really staggering amounts of arrogance.

frazzled1 · 16/07/2019 20:45

Some cracking responses on that thread Grin

Diary of a Proff of Bantz and Feelz aged 21 1/2 (identified)

Dear dairy (sic)

Today I looked out upon the twittersphere e.g. the literal real world and I saw that it was BAD. A bad place full of people who believe mammals can't magically change sex.

Those people dear dairy, those people are bad people. Got to be white people and almost definitely rich and privileged people. How can those people understand feminism when they can't even feel feminism?

Yes, well, hic. They didn't bank on my mage level skills. I did a mighty feel. Gathered together all the other feelz I could feel and made a HUGE SPELL! BE GONE FOUL NOT PROPER FEMINISTS. I let this spell go on Twitter but it's gone a bit wobbly. Instead of them evil witches begoning they've all arrived...... And are seriously taking the piss. Just because daddy could spell and wrote a few best sellers doesn't mean I'm posh. Rude. And I certainly don't identify as white and middle class on Tuesdays. Bigots.

Ha ha YOU FORGOT I'M A PROFF OF BANTZ. I MEANT to get the spell wrong so you'd all gather and me and the boys could all block you.

Losers

I did actually think hers was a parody account until I heard her on woman’s hour. My buttocks still haven’t unclenched. It was a total shitshow. In a sense you have to give her credit for still showing her face in public.

TurboTeddy · 16/07/2019 20:32

On the gin not gun! Yikes autocorrect is scary today Shock

A couple of references to her being on the gun and turps but this is one of my favourite responses...

Enough now. No more hiding behind progressivism. Be done with the gloss of equality. Away with supposed inclusive principles. Queer theory ideologues are a privileged band of post-modern neoliberals whose misogyny, homophobia, racism & moral bankruptcy have never been clearer 👍

I can no longer tell Sally Hines from Titania McGrath.

ZebrasAreBras · 16/07/2019 20:29

Just how is Sally such a highly funded academic???? I really want to know how this can happen Confused

I've never seen anyone make such a fool of themselves on twitter so often.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 16/07/2019 20:26

That’s hilarious Grin I’ve never been called conservative in my life! Ha. Silly silly Sally

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 16/07/2019 20:25

fun times

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 16/07/2019 20:24

loving Sarah Ditum's response

really wtf are you talking about Sally? is pretty much the only adequate response to anything that woman says

littlbrowndog · 16/07/2019 20:22

Sally is good to watch in action rember the slug women. Gawd that was the best

KatvonHostileExtremist · 16/07/2019 20:16

Sarah ditum's response 🤣🤣🤣

Sally is absolutely hilarious. She's literally my favourite.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/07/2019 20:13

I wonder if MNHQ could get her in for a webchat...

MNHQ are too nice to set up an unarmed opponent in a battle of wits.

CraftyWoman · 16/07/2019 20:13

She wouldn't dare.
