Challenor on LBC this morning

Much to my horror and surprise I heard the dulcet tones of Aimee Challenor on the Nick Ferrari show this morning. I was half asleep (school hols, forgive me!) and sat bolt upright as AC defended the suspension of the doctor recently.

Ferrari was having none of it and then went on to questin AC about the plethora of male prisoners iding as women and asked AC to comment. AC would not comment because to call these men fakers would put AC in a very awkward position. Also AC did not sound like the brightest bulb in the box - not a shock.

I was amazed that this nappy wearing furry (this is all out in the open MN btw) - roundly discredited and found lacking by the Greens - was commenting on national radio as if they are some sort of intelligent voice in this debate. Why do researchers not do their jobs properly?

You can never believe that it's "just fantasy."

That's the defence for so many men who download child abuse images of real children being abused, too.

Fantasy unfortunately, has a real risk of leaking out into reality. And publishing that vile shit can in fact be prosecuted:

www.pressgazette.co.uk/former-sunday-telegraph-deputy-news-editor-ben-leapman-jailed-for-seven-years-for-rape/

This guy - was firstly convicted of writing an obscene article, (child abuse related) and downloading indecent images of children - which he claimed was "just fantasy". He was later convicted of repeatedly raping a woman.

“The defendant will, no doubt, say these were all fantasies,” said Miss Laws.

“We say these obsessive late night chats about violent sex and rape with strangers is part of why he started to treat (the woman) in the way he did.”

The safeguarding issues about AC don't even need all of this searching - just read the report on her involvement in the Green Party and mistakes with respect to David Challenor. It is clear that AC has no capacity to understand safeguarding matters. Therefore AC is a danger to vulnerable people and children.
That other organisations are not taking this seriously is very worrying - and the good work is in danger of being destroyed by the eventual backlash.

CraftyWoman · 15/07/2019 21:35

Sweet baby Jesus, the response is actually worse than the original post. Who knew that was possible.

Aimee, get help.

MsMcWibble · 15/07/2019 21:25

Screen shot. This is foul.
Lib Dems - what are you doing?

NeurotrashWarrior · 15/07/2019 21:22

Well this is all going to go down well in the future in the hoc.

This isn't normal Aimee.

OhHolyJesus · 15/07/2019 20:51

Veritas found that AC didn't understand safeguarding but AC is on the Stonewall Trans Advisory Committee, no idea how exposed AC is to children or vulnerable adults but even writing policy around trans issues is concerning to me if you don't understand what safeguarding actually is.

OhHolyJesus · 15/07/2019 20:46

Someone who doesn't have the same kind of boundaries as most sane people.

I'm reminded of that actress who took her husband back after thousands of images of children being raped were found on his computer. Images are fine as it's not rape, it's just images of rape. Fantasising about raping children is fine as it's just a fantasy. Like the NOMAPs, as long as you're a non offending paedo it's fine, it's just the offending ones we need to worry about.

So very very sick and wrong. Feeling nauseous now.

AC has had one hell of an upbringing if AC finds this sort of individual attractive. I wish AC well in a future career in politics...in America.

EverardDigby · 15/07/2019 20:40

I've (very reluctantly) screen shotted some of it (yuck). These people have some very dark stuff going on. I'm not sure who Aimee is connected with anymore, but there are some definite safeguarding issues here.

koshkat · 15/07/2019 20:30

JFC. Who the hell thinks it's ok to admit to that horror show like it is all perfectly normal and fine?

Thanks Betty I am reminded of why I am not on twitter on a daily basis.

5c and 6 are revealing, vile but revealing.

Well we knew we were being watched and we are watching you too Kharon.

bettybeans · 15/07/2019 20:12

Response thread spotted.
Spoiler: it's not great. This is unlikely to surprise any of you.

Paraphrasing but in response to:

How can [someone] be working with vulnerable teenagers when...in a relationship with [somebody openly engaged in problematic behaviour]?

Dept. for Education last year removed the requirement that teachers et al. should not themselves have an unspent conviction nor should they have a family member or somebody with whom they are co-resident with an unspent criminal conviction or similar. Aka "disqualification by association".*

If you’re employed or engaged in providing relevant childcare provision (or involved in the management of such provision) and have a criminal record, then you may be disqualified under the Childcare Act.
It’s important to establish whether your criminal record is one which will disqualify you and if so, how you would go about applying for a waiver from Ofsted.
What changes have been made to the Childcare Disqualification Regulations?

Under the Childcare (Disqualification) and Childcare (Early Years Provision Free of Charge) (Extended Entitlement) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 (“the 2018 regulations”), schools are no longer required to establish whether a member of staff employed or engaged in providing relevant childcare provision is disqualified by association. Therefore, schools should no longer be asking their staff questions about the cautions or convictions of someone living or working in their household.

NB, I can't find it but I know that it was mentioned/discussed on FWR last year.

Needmoresleep · 15/07/2019 15:43

I found this review for the Mae West book on Amazon

"Mae, I admire you writing this book & having to relive all those memories. As a school friend, we NEVER knew what you had to endure at home. I think you’re amazing & you deserve every bit of happiness that life can possibly give you."

Aimee should not be judged for her father's crimes, but she will be judged on how she behaves as an adult. The first step here will be for her to recognise that she needs to unlearn some of the lessons of her childhood. Aimee's woke friends do not seem to be helping with this.

Needmoresleep · 15/07/2019 15:29

Whistleblower, it does not surprise me.

On many levels, poor Aimee. It sounds like she is marrying a father figure.

I really hope she can step out of the limelight, have some therapy (she could try victim support as in many ways she is a victim as well) and rebuild her life.

Mae West's, daughter of Rose and Fred West, seems to have managed it.

Earlier I described what I think Aimee will do. That is not what I think she should do. I strongly suspect that the LibDems and others who she considers her friends are not, and will dump her as soon as her brand is seen as toxic, or when being trans is no longer considered special.

WeirdWoman · 15/07/2019 15:02

Whistleblower, I imagine your post will be deleted, so make sure you have it copied somewhere else.

I agree. The whole thing is just awful. Sad

OhHolyJesus · 15/07/2019 15:00

God I wish people would stop saying she!

Doobigetta · 12/07/2019 16:29

A very useful phrase of my Mum's (based on a joke about a mother watching soldiers parading by) "Oh look, everyone's out of step but our Johnny". 😝

That is my new favourite @Juells, thank you!

koshkat · 12/07/2019 13:49

So both AC and LM check MN regularly for their mentions I see.

Keep on with the media stuff Aimee - you are great!

Sheheshehe · 12/07/2019 00:16

Aimee if you’re here - how hard was it to abandon your Green roots for the Lib Dem’s? Who would you go to next as a Party if the Lib Dems decided you’d transgressed in any way (whether it was the case or not) Are you going to stick around in Coventry? If I were you I would certainly be tempted by a new life in Michigan. Fresh start and all that! Good luck!

WeirdWoman · 12/07/2019 00:16

Aimee, if this is really you, you may like to stick around.

Mumsnet is a great place for support, advice, and friendship.

You haven't had it easy. Every Mumsnetter I know has a huge amount of sympathy for what you've been through. You could get a lot of practical support here. I think it could really help you long term.

Percypigparade · 11/07/2019 23:50

Is the clip from today available to view anywhere?

LangCleg · 11/07/2019 22:55

Do let us know if you need any tips for future radio interviews, Aimee. Keep on keeping on!
