JY’s parent sounds like an absolute loon. It would explain a lot.

@ManyBoysMum sorry I felt I had to report your post as naming the person involved is apparently in breach of the publication ban. Don't want to give any ammunition. You could repost without any identifying info?

This is surely a public interest story. Are the press really so scared of being sued? Don’t they have a budget for this kind of thing?

Most of the press do as they are told, the government want this, so it's kept out of the press.

Tomato juice is acidic. That is going to be one sorry bum.

I would assume discomfort adds to the 'real' experience.

RedToothBrush · 08/07/2019 15:24

It's not a woman's job to validate anyone else be they male or female.

There should be an expectation of civility and respect but that has to be mutual.

If there is no mutual respect then a woman is entitled to tell someone to piss off.

JY set out to entrap and to force validation. It showed contempt for the women he approached. It was deliberate to shock, degrade and humiliate by forcing submission to him.

And that's before you add in the sexual element to the dynamic.

These women owe him nothing.

And I use the word him because the court has already said at the time of this incident JY was still going by male names by his choice and only changed that afterwards so it can't have been causing that much distress at the time. His gender identity was only important when it served his interests not because it was wholly unbearable to be referred to in a male way. Thus 'him' as a pronoun is appropriate and highly relevant to the case concerned.

It would have been very unfortunate if JY had found a female-client-only professional who was willing to accede to his demands. The operator's lack of experience of working on male genitalia could have been disastrous. Spilt hot wax on the genitals must be very painful.

I would have been so sad if that had happened to JY.

Thanks due to Helen Joyce I think Flowers

This whole story is mind blowing.

AnyOldPrion · 08/07/2019 14:29

I understand that mentally ill people should be protected under the law, but when a person is harassing many other people to this extent, it’s terrifying that the justice system would even consider backing them up.

Forcing a woman (via the law) to handle your male genitalia seems tantamount to sexual assault.

sackrifice · 08/07/2019 13:56

Going back to the original link above...

"Gender identity is a person’s sense of themselves as male, female, both, in between or neither. It includes people who identify as transgender. Gender identity may be different or the same as the sex a person is assigned at birth."

How can you protect in law, a sense of anything that can be anything you want it to be? as and when you want it?

Oldrockman · 08/07/2019 13:27

Oh some of them will, uh, preload them with tomato juice etc and freeze them. But yeah, it’s not a fetish or anything...confused*

And then they have the nerve to accuse lesbians of having a genital fetish due to them being attracted to women rather than men dressed as women.

FeministCat · 08/07/2019 13:20

The absorbent material + delicate arse tissue... that can’t be healthy.

Originally I thought it was about the waxing and it just being standard entitlement to ‘woman things’, but no - going by what JY has said it was about making the poor woman spot the tampon string and work around it. Non-consensual fetish play.

Question - as JY is largely notorious for sexually harassing women, racist tweeting and envisaging helping little girls with tampons - surely this falls under the ‘Karen White’ clause in the forum guidelines, ie we are not required to use preferred pronouns of those primarily known for sexual predation?

Or is it just those convicted of same?

Gingerkittykat · 08/07/2019 13:09

Jy was hospitalised for a week, presumably for psychiatric care, and the parent recognises that this court case is likely to trigger further mental decline, or that JY is already acting from a place where they are mentally unwell.

Parent is either equally unhinged or acting from a place of genuine concern. Does anyone know how recent this hospitalisation was or what it was for?

Satterthwaite · 08/07/2019 13:06

I can't help sniggering at the title 'member' ha ha ha Grin

Manderleyagain · 08/07/2019 13:03

SneakyPinky types out what we were all thinking!!

It sounds like there is some confusion or false assumptions about intersex in the court. Is the court member the magistrate/judge? I hope she decides that genitals are central to the case so exactly what the accuser has is material and they can't hide behind privacy.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 08/07/2019 12:58

Just like to point out that it's not just this 1 woman. There are 16 others currently being sued by this person and many others who have settled out of court for a quiet life.

Canada we are watching you in horror TBH

BluebonicPlague · 08/07/2019 12:56

terfsandwich
My understanding is that someone accusing of a human rights breach pays nothing.
The accused must pay to defend themselves

Thanks. So bringing an action here can be financially as well as emotionally oppressive? I hope the tribunal takes all that into account (assuming they see sense at all).

sneakypinky · 08/07/2019 12:55

People actually put tampons up their arse?

Insanity. Fucking mental.

RedToothBrush · 08/07/2019 12:53

WTF have I just read?

And why is the parent bursting in and out of a hearing? Cos that's a perfectly normal thing to happen. It really screams 'well balanced and stable background' doesn't it?

I hope the lying and being female when it suits but being offended at being called male when being male also serves a purpose for JY is picked up on.

Vexatious nature and being opportunitistic chancer happy to abuse a situation are the key things here not gender.

FeministCat · 08/07/2019 12:52

Where is he even putting the tampons? Up his bum hole?

I believe that is the implication, yes. Doing this has been discussed on other transgender sites. I think this option did not initially occur to the defendant’s lawyer or the sitting Member though since they had to then find a way to discuss JY’s genitals to understand what was happening there. Confused
