JY’s parent sounds like an absolute loon. It would explain a lot.

A remarkable coincidence that the victim defendant at the next hearing will be another brown woman.

terfsandwich · 08/07/2019 19:37

I agree. At what point will it click with the tribunal that this racist bigot is using the court to perpetrate racism on a woman who is a migrant?

HorridHenrysNits · 08/07/2019 19:34

That's exactly what I thought Michelle. JY coming across as an abusive, nasty fucker.

Michelleoftheresistance · 08/07/2019 19:32

Why is she frightened of periods???

FGS.

Agree with the tweet about this being state sanctioned sexual harassment now.

Thanks OP - I would hate for the tweeter to have any problems from this. (plus Im glued to this shit show and want to see how it ends)

Me too.

I have reported my OP but I guess it’s taking MNHQ a while to get round to it.

BH is one brave woman. I think I saw a tweet that her husband was there too. I hope she's got the whole Sikh community behind her. Several other potential defendants had settled out of court or through mediation, apparently, but there are two other cases potentially to come. However, the court agreed that common themes determined in BH's case could be carried over to the other two, so this is probably the worst of the lot as far as the defendant is concerned.

Michelleoftheresistance · 08/07/2019 19:22

There's a point where this starts to feel like court facilitated bullying and abuse of the woman defendant. The defendant seems to be going to town on her right to her religious beliefs and her right to set her own boundaries over handling penises.

This is reminding me more and more of the kind of court set ups enjoyed by abusive exes over contact.

TurboTeddy · 08/07/2019 19:16

JY asks why would BH do haircuts for post op trans women.

BH says that they don't have a penis on their head. (outburst of laughter in gallery)

ahumanfemale · 08/07/2019 19:01

I thought that the ethnicity aspect was interesting. I'm wondering what the other two defendants' ethnicity is...

Michelleoftheresistance · 08/07/2019 19:01

Implication appears to be that an interest in receiving waxing services from particular racial groups of women is relevant as well as ongoing interest in tampons?

TurboTeddy · 08/07/2019 18:47

Notorious tampon screen shots have been bought into evidence as far as I can tell.

To all those journalists not covering this, I find the quote by Amy Goodman suitably advisory

“Go to where the silence is and say something”.

Whackitupto200 · 08/07/2019 18:23

Yes good point. It’s not live tweeting per se. Reporting from the tribunal on the same day, but after the facts. I’ll report my OP.

I'm confused over whether I've mis-gendered now bearing in mind JY seems to present in both ways

Everard I'm taking the line that the court record shows that at the time of the incident JY was still using male names themselves and at times was presenting as male and didn't subsequently make changes until after the event.

Thus its highly relevant to the case to refer to JY as male at the time, and therefore suggesting there is 'misgendering' after the fact is simply a smoke and mirrors way to try and discredit the defendant and deflect from the events as they happened.

In the context of this case I think it's fair to use male pronouns for that reason.

In other situations the justification to do so might not be as strong and might be viewed as disrespectful but the entire point is that this looks like opportunism and has malicious intent if you understand what JY gender identity was at the time as it changes the context of events and distorts the reality of that moment.

You can't change your gender identity and then use that to effectively retrospectively to go after people you dislike for not respecting your gender identity which they couldn't have known and you didn't have at the time.

I’m not Canadian. I don’t see why anyone should be constrained by laws they don’t get to vote on. I don’t see why non-Canadians should respect their laws anyone than we should be constrained by fatwas issued by any other crackpot state.

EverardDigby · 08/07/2019 17:56

I'm confused over whether I've mis-gendered now bearing in mind JY seems to present in both ways 🤷🏻‍♀️. It wasn't intentional.

Didactylos · 08/07/2019 17:56

I would like to ask the OP if they could think about having the title changed to clarify that the tweeter giving an account of these events is not live tweeting from the court, as there is a restriction on this.

(If you read back through her tweets you can see there have been issues from JV accusing her of tweeting live during the sessions which has been prohibited. This was rather amusing as JY was using JYs laptop to help with their giving evidence and had agreed not to connect to the internet: however clearly was connected given that JY accused her of live tweeting and offered to show court officials her tweets)

She is very carefully keeping within the limits of allowed communication and her tweets are a summary of notes taken during the case, summarised after the event and keeping to the rules of the court ordered anonymity of JY (by not naming or connecting photos or info) It would be a shame to give any ammunition to allow accusations of live tweeting by the court through an inaccurately titled thread here.

@EggWrap That's about the size of it I think SadAngry

AlwaysComingHome · 08/07/2019 17:54

ERs spend a lot of time retrieving things from people's butts.

After a 72 hour shift they have to let their hair down somehow.

FannyCann · 08/07/2019 17:46

I have been thinking the same Everard & OhtheHills

Gender dysphoria is no longer classified as a mental illness (am I right?) and so instead delusional identity is now a protected characteristic by law. And this is the extreme result.

Ditto paraphilias which were previously considered to be perversions but are now celebrated (at Pride at least).

Of course I have no doubt that many trans persons are able to manage their mental health and live a stable life. However most will admit to problems and many have severe mental health issues. They need help not access to the courts.

EggWrap · 08/07/2019 17:45

So, let me get this straight......a popsicle is shoved up the bumhole.......then, the pervert in question 'discovers' they have 'come on', and then uses a tampon to soak up the frozen Vimto leaking out their anus?
And this is somehow not a freakish fetish involving female impersonation?!

endofthelinefinally · 08/07/2019 17:43

Should people be sticking to initials? Not using the name?
