Child and adolescent safeguarding issue in Langley BC

Saw this whilst trawling twitter. I was shocked by the age range of 12 -24 and that they won't let parents into the swim event. Rose of dawn speculated about the appeal of such events to a well known tampon fetishist.

Truly unbelievable how safe guarding can be disregarded in the name of progressive inclusivity. Unsurprisingly there are tweets, in response, that allude to PIE.

I'm posting really just to add to the record of these events so we can plot the rate at which this is becoming normalized. It seems to have been gathering pace and I can't help but wonder if twitters tolerance of MAP accounts and the silencing of concerned or dissenting women is a contributing factor.

How do we stop this?

Turbo Teddy I am not really sure that we do have effective safeguarding laws in Canada... DH is a teacher and was astounded that at his interview here he was asked no safeguarding or child protection questions. It's not a concept that is much discussed here.

How often does Langley have those open council meetings or whatever they are that Yaniv presents at on a regular basis? They look so dire, I suspect if I had to sit through them I would quite look forward to the Yaniv presentation for entertainment reasons. Grin

As regards the swim session, maybe someone alerted someone that Yaniv would be the first through the door? I have read, on a certain website 🥝 suggestion that the risk Is recognised and being monitored. But maybe that is wishful thinking.

Langley is Yaniv's stomping ground isn't it? Nuff said!

Thank fuck for that, common sense prevailing for now.

"Well, at least we are not Canada".

It's a very worrying thought isn't it. Canada must have safeguarding laws, how the hell has this been approved. It looks like an invitation to paedophiles or any other type is sexual predator. Even if there is no disaster on the day it puts vulnerable young people in contact with those who would happily groom them to exploit that vulnerability.

I'm not a fan of hand wringing "won't somebody think of the children" but really WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHIlDREN!

Looks like it's been cancelled due to the backlash.

A potentially topless swim session for ages 12-24 with mixed sex changing rooms and no parental supervision? Possibly attended by unspecified "allies"? Yeh, great idea, can't see aaaaaanything going wrong there.

Ffs. What is happening?!

Popchyk · 06/07/2019 21:30

Whenever I despair about the rank state of the UK and reflect on our ever-increasing international laughing stock status, I catch myself and think "Well, at least we are not Canada".

Twelve year olds with adult men. No parents allowed. This is utter madness.

Popchyk · 06/07/2019 21:27

For all LGBT Youth plus their allies (you can read dirty old men for that)

Age 12 - 24 (plus of course the dirty old men mentioned above)

No parents or caregivers allowed

Gender-inclusive change rooms and washrooms

I mean, what could possibly go wrong with that set-up?

Chickenish · 06/07/2019 20:57

Why are feminists being blamed for saying breasts aren’t sex organs. We say this, but we also assert safety and privacy. Angry

How do we stop this?

We can't the government are set on the end goal and we won't stop it.

However, giving it as much light as possible helps more of the public connect the dots.
