This short film with Mhairi reading out (mostly respectful) comments from women is really sad. I have always admired her but like many politicians she is unable to comprehend the issues women are raising. She says there is no evidence or legitimacy in our concerns. Oh well.

t was the sneering that really got to me like she is so clever

She's deeply mistaken.

littlbrowndog · 04/07/2019 09:15

Yeah she was sneering at people raising concerns. Mocking them like they are stupid said they needed educated

Then at very end said don’t be a cunt

She really needs to actually listen to the concerns and find her brain to understand the concerns
It was the sneering that really got to me like she is so clever and the rest of us are just cunts, stupid cunts

Babdoc · 04/07/2019 09:05

She is exactly what I expect of the SNP, I’m afraid. A party that puts political spin ahead of facts. Trying to break up our country, without even a credible plan for a currency post split, no way of funding the benefit and pension liabilities, denial about Scotland’s dependence on the Barnett formula, a laughable projected “defence force” of just 600 frontline troops, etc.
Black is an ignorant loudmouth. I’d love to see her reaction if propositioned in a bar by a TRA with a “lady dick”. Not so bloody woke and tolerant then, I bet!

Elletorro · 04/07/2019 09:05

She seems to be so concentrated on point scoring. Vapid, abusive and intellectually lazy. And yes absolutely unacceptable way to talk about either constituents or her political opponents.

frazzled1 · 04/07/2019 09:03

So........ reading your t-shirt Mhairi, an adult stranger with a penis can pee right next to your future 13 year old daughter / aged granny etc etc, regardless of what they think.

Love to know how a 13 year old girl's supposed to differentiate between the adult stranger's penis at the bus stop (police matter) and the adult stranger's penis in the "women's" changing rooms (to hell with her discomfort, that one's a 'lady dick'). But that's her problem eh Mhairi? All on her, a child. Adult with a fetish - free rein mate.

Progressive, my arse. Back of the queue XXs, same old same old same old.

LassOfFyvie · 04/07/2019 09:01

To end it by calling women who had asked for help"Jeremy Hunts"

I didn't listen to it, but that is not acceptable behaviour from an MP. It is utterly disrespectful to women and to her fellow MP.

JoyceJeffries · 04/07/2019 08:53

She does pretend to be working class (both her parents are teachers). And by all accounts her attendance as an MP leaves a lot to be desired. AKA lazy. Her expenses are also sky high.

She’s backed herself into an ideological corner. Deep down she knows it is total crap but she’s addicted to looking virtuous so she won’t change.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 04/07/2019 08:42

I didn’t watch it because I can’t stand her. Did she call women cunts?! Shock

JessicaWakefieldSV · 04/07/2019 08:42

Point of information -Black is not "working class", though a major part of her schtick is pretending that she is

Thank you, I was going to write that but I wasn’t sure ( I’m not from uk ).

Alltheprettyseahorses · 04/07/2019 08:36

After hearing her sneering at women's legal right to single-sex spaces and calling women cunts, I think Parliamentary Standards needs to step in. She is not just unfit to represent 51% of her constituents but is actively promoting increasing the real risk of harm to them, harm that has been caused already.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 04/07/2019 08:19

That was utterly vile - the dismissive, sneering tone is that of a career politician and a young woke twat.

MoleSmokes · 04/07/2019 04:41

That was really sinister! Shock

The spooky background music didn't help - the whole thing was really chilling.

To end it by calling women who had asked for help "Jeremy Hunts" and in such a cold, sneering way - that's what she thinks of them. Is "cunt!" the new "Terf"? It's giving the rabid mob the nod to pile on and step up the abuse.

She's deep in "gulag" territory there. Sinister is the only word for it.

No political interest BTW - I don't even know what party she is - but that was such a blatant abuse of power and authority to undermine democracy.

Christ on a bike! Just thought - were those all messages from constituents?? Or has she got some particular Parliamentary role that people would be contacting her?

VickyEadie · 04/07/2019 04:26

At least they've got each other and don't have to face being coerced into sex with transwomen who say they're lesbians, eh?

Gingerkittykat · 04/07/2019 03:22

Says it all really.

That Ms Black isn't a sophisticated thinker is no new news to me.
I also don't think that having really young career politicians is a great thing in general.

Basdan · 04/07/2019 00:40

MB is my mp, I emailed her last year asking her to attend the meeting about how the GRA would affect women's rights. I already knew her stance but shared my very personal story which I've only shared with 2 other people, because I feel so strongly about this, I tried so hard to get my point across and her reply, while expected was beyond disappointing. She states she "does not believe the furthering of trans rights infringes upon women’s rights"

My feeling was that she was speaking from being a person from a minority group that was historically not treated inclusively and that her thought process is incredibly flawed due to this. It astounds me that she cannot comprehend how dangerous and traumatising this can be for vulnerable women and that their rights should not be eroded. I often wonder how she would feel when confronted by a transwoman telling her she is homophopic/transphobic for not being attracted to their penis.

I feel its ignorant to ignore the women who have been imprisoned with people with a penis and say you can't make decisions re transpeople based on criminals and predators, tell that to the victims!

I feel so unrepresented and frustrated.

Nikhedonia · 04/07/2019 00:39

MB is a lesbian. I wonder if she would be attracted to someone who identified as a woman, but had no physically female attributes. She must be, otherwise (according to TRA's) she's transphobic, right?

Aspley · 04/07/2019 00:32

I would have far more respect for her once she practices what she preaches and gets with some 'girl-dick'.
I imagine she will accuse me of homophobia for suggesting that. But Mhairi, you are defending a profoundly homophobic movement. Have some respect and open your eyes. What is a lesbian Mhairi? What is a lesbian?

ZebrasAreBras · 04/07/2019 00:31

This topic, incidentally, makes me think about the act of veto.

I recently heard Miranda Yardley alluding to it, in an interview with a transwoman.

If a group of women are happy to let transwomen (males) into women's spaces, and a group of women aren't, who do we listen to? was the question posed. Miranda was sharp on it - "we listen to the group who aren't happy."

Women who aren't happy about sharing spaces with transwomen, or having everything converted to mixed sex spaces - should have the power of veto.

lady69 · 04/07/2019 00:30

..Bit tired these days. She is ignorant and has no true life experience.

lady69 · 04/07/2019 00:29

She is a gobshite. The shouty sweariness is a bi

Smellbowpenisbeaker · 04/07/2019 00:26

Hmm. I actually thought, sadly, that was quite well put together. The interspersing of some well reasoned questions with genuinely hostile ones means it’s easier to put across the idea that we’re all hysterical harpies.

ZebrasAreBras · 04/07/2019 00:25

I reckon we'll be in good company, Kite Wink

OccasionalKite · 04/07/2019 00:23

Hello, ZebrasAreBras!
We women who have been around the block a bit - and can see the obvious threat to women's rights here - obviously need to be sent to Gulag for "re-education."

I'll be joining you in that gulag.
But the very idea is bloody chilling, though.
