There was a thread but it went for some reason. Anyway, the safe schools alliance have launched a website. Looks good.

OP posts:

Safeguarding children really does upset some people, doesn’t it

What a shame to see MNHQ responding that way Sad

LangCleg · 04/07/2019 11:57

I am very concerned that one poster - EeveePHD - can make a false and vexatious claim that Safe Schools Alliance UK are 'advertising' (they campaign for better safeguarding in schools ffs) and MNHQ capitulate.

Yes. I'm a bit gobsmacked that a campaigning organisation about child safeguarding could be regarded as advertising by providing information about its website on a parenting forum.

I can think of dozens of other examples of providing access to campaigning websites (by the founders) right across MN. I won't name them for obvious reasons.

This would appear to be in response to a Twitter post:

It looks like MN have not only deleted the thread it looks like they have banned SSAUK too. I tried to message the account from my account and was told it was unavailable. I asked why and was told:

Thanks for getting in touch.
If you wish to contact Safe Schools Alliance, you can find contact details on their website: safeschoolsallianceuk.net/.

We don't allow advertising and promotion on Mumsnet, so it's best to contact them off the boards.

Best wishes
Lily MNHQ

MN have not been in touch with SSAUK by email to discuss the deletion or the ban.

Yes, those template letters would have been really helpful to me when trying to understand what my DC are being taught. It’s a brilliant resource

I am very concerned that one poster - EeveePHD - can make a false and vexatious claim that Safe Schools Alliance UK are 'advertising' (they campaign for better safeguarding in schools ffs) and @MNHQ capitulate. Which moderator did this? Is there another TRA intern on the loose?

The SSA website is a brilliant resource for parents, and this is a PARENTING WEBSITE ffs! I really wanted to know where I could go to, to get info on how to contact my LEA re equalities and protecting the rights of girls in schools. Please reinstate the post MNHQ!

I found googling Safe Schools Alliance UK weeded out a lot of chaff, and brought up a link to the website as the 7th option.

I'm sure it will climb the listing in the same way that Transgender Trend has done, because parents in the UK are becoming concerned at what has been happening in schools and looking for information that they can trust, information that is in line with the law and follows established safeguarding protocols.

GColdtimer · 03/07/2019 23:09

Safe schools alliance have had no response from Mumsnet about why the original thread was pulled. We have asked them but no response as yet.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. We will get the indexing sorted out tomorrow. If anyone has any suggestions for additions or improvements please message us.

Elletorro · 03/07/2019 23:06

Safe Schools Alliance: such a useful resource that certain people would like all signposting shut down and the people recommending it dismissed as bigots.

I’d want to know what the fuss was about personally. Have a snoop around, suss out why safeguarding and girls’ rights could possibly be transphobic

barelove · 03/07/2019 23:02

Oooh, miss, I know, I know!! Is it because someone wants to derail a thread about a grassroots organisation concerned with fighting regulatory capture in schools and the weakening of safeguarding via a trans ideology acting as a trojan horse??!! IS IT???

Correct Floral! Star

AlwaysComingHome · 03/07/2019 22:54

I think it should be reinstated because the complaint was made on false pretences.

It wasn’t reported because the claimant objected to advertising, it was reported because they claim we are a hive of transphobia and unwitting right wing supremacists.

They have admitted their complaint was made in bad faith on this very thread.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 03/07/2019 22:52

Ooops - that was to Elletorro

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 03/07/2019 22:52

Interesting how they don’t want anyone to signpost Safe Schools Alliance

yes, there's obviously this spoof site that seems to be coming up first in searches.

as they say in the FAQ page

safeschoolsallianceuk.net/about/frequently-asked-questions/

DO YOU HAVE ANY RELIGIOUS OR POLITICAL AFFILIATION?
No. We are a grassroots group of individual volunteers from a range of backgrounds. We receive no funding or donations. We are united by an interest in child welfare

so I'm not too sure what EVEE was talking about.....

truthisarevolutionaryact · 03/07/2019 22:51

That and silencing women is the modus operandi - just like the skater thread on AIBU - which was reinstated in all its glory.

LangCleg · 03/07/2019 22:50

Since the original post was deleted because of a complaint by a vexatious poster MN should reinstate it.

I think it should be reinstated on the basis that "advertising" implies some commercial activity, which rightly should be banned. A resource on safeguarding? Not commercial. Not party political. A guide to the law of the land, FFS.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 03/07/2019 22:50

There was a thread in site stuff asking why the original safe schools alliance thread was deleted

then the site stuff thread was deleted as a TAAT

now there are 2 threads asking if the rules have changed regarding TAATs in site stuff as it used to be generally OK I think

it's all gone a bit inception tbh

Elletorro · 03/07/2019 22:49

Interesting how they don’t want anyone to signpost Safe Schools Alliance

AlwaysComingHome · 03/07/2019 22:47

Since the original post was deleted because of a complaint by a vexatious poster MN should reinstate it.

AlwaysComingHome · 03/07/2019 22:45

I know what this place is. A hive of transphobia and unwitting right wing supremacists.

I’ve reported this as it is libellous, and because you have clearly joined the forum just to silence women.

LangCleg · 03/07/2019 22:31

The factsheet about sexism in secondary schools is excellent.

FormerMediocreMale · 03/07/2019 22:29

Truthis I'm sure safeguarding is supported by all reasonable adults, unfortunately not all adults are reasonable.

LangCleg · 03/07/2019 22:26

What's it advertising, FFS?

Information about safeguarding and advice on tackling schools that are not abiding by their statutory requirements.

It's not a commercial service.

Elletorro · 03/07/2019 21:55

Safe schools alliance is about refusing to be hoodwinked into surrendering girls rights, adopting a belief system which is scientifically impossible and protecting very vulnerable gender dysphoric kids.

3 local authorities have agreed with them

FloralBunting · 03/07/2019 21:51

Oooh, miss, I know, I know!! Is it because someone wants to derail a thread about a grassroots organisation concerned with fighting regulatory capture in schools and the weakening of safeguarding via a trans ideology acting as a trojan horse??!! IS IT???

truthisarevolutionaryact · 03/07/2019 21:51

Indeed Elletorro. One would hope that safeguarding children was a universal thing respected and supported by all reasonable adults. Sadly we are discovering that this is not the case.

CaveMum · 03/07/2019 21:51

Fantastic site. Thank you!
