A Geordie lad verses the Woke Stasi

I was stumbling around twitter when I came across this little incident, and I was intrigued because it's the first time I've seen working class lads in a twitter spat with the armies of the woke.

This young lad does a (pretty unkind) tweet about rejecting a transwoman on tinder, because they have a penis.

mobile.twitter.com/DommyEnglish/status/1145323492591714304

There is a massive pile on, and of cause they try to get him sacked. Hilariously given he plays for a local 7 aside amateur team. The "club" issue statements, which are pounced on. The guy says he's lost his job and home, which is met with glee. He's totally trolling them. Other teams in the league join in, leading the Woke on a merry dance. How can they not tell? HOW??

mobile.twitter.com/official43fc

He then issues an "apology" where he tackles the double standards of hundreds of people attacking him for his looks, telling him to die (!!) Etc. Including, Blair White, an American transwomen and TRA.(watch White be destroyed by Magdaline Burns here:

)

The guy defends his sexual preferences too, and his right to hold those preferences. And I was put in mind of the James Kirkup blog today. Dommy was called a transphobe for rejecting a person based on the fact they have a penis.

The lad did apologise for initial tweet, which I'm glad. Personally I think he crossed the line, in a dick laddy fashion. But it's the moronic, rabid way he's attacked and how he deals with it that i think it's interesting. He's literally laughing at them and they can't tell. They are so young? So naive? But really mob like too.

I don't think the transwoman was too gutted, given the amount of attention now coming their way:mobile.twitter.com/kairahkelly_

Twitter is so insane.

I hope Dommy gets his eyes opened further......

shared her pic intentionally to shame her

Shame her? 'She' has an online business selling sex videos. Might even have made money out of this.

FormerMediocreMale · 04/07/2019 10:02

Eggs is new to me too. That educational trip to Thailand might have been more thought provoking than I first thought Grin

LangCleg · 04/07/2019 10:01

It does imply that Geordie Lad wasn’t as green as he first appears...

Could be a coinkydink but funny if not!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 04/07/2019 09:58

Glad you're back Lang Smile

Roses I've not intended for my posts to imply nasty comments towards women are ok just because there hasn't been any physical harm done (and when I mentioned hurt feelings I wasn't referring to those of actual women).

I apologise if that's how it's come across.

My problem is that it's only perceived to be a real problem when it's the feelings of transwomen that are injured. If the same individuals and their supporters are active and vocal in their support of women and girls and tackling their oppression I might have more time for their bleatings. But I'm confident that they never have been nor ever will be. It's only a problem when it affects them.

I'm another who is new to the egg thing. The mind boggles.

RosesAndRaindrops · 04/07/2019 09:56

It does appear not as green as first appears
Well if you're thinking it wasn't a WTF it's a bloke moment he had to share with everyone like mentioned up thread, not sure that's much better if he had shared her pic intentionally to shame her

EweSurname · 04/07/2019 09:55

A quick google reveals it's not quite the same as being in the closet - it's more about a person not even realising they are trans.

RosesAndRaindrops · 04/07/2019 09:52

Tag team ffs lol
No, just replying to some comments like people tend to do

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 04/07/2019 09:50

Yes, eggs is a new one on me Lang

It does imply that Geordie Lad wasn’t as green as he first appears...

Whatisthisfuckery · 04/07/2019 09:48

No, no tag team derailing going on here at all.

EweSurname · 04/07/2019 09:47

I've never come across "eggs" before!

LangCleg · 04/07/2019 09:39

Sigh. Nobody needed to get confused. I politely (twice) and tersely (third time) asked one person to stop using the @ in my name on the thread because it was clogging my email inbox. They reacted rudely and aggressively and goadily. Nothing to do with anyone else. I don't care who likes or does not like the @ feature. I don't care who uses or does not use the @ feature. I would just like it if people did not use it for me when I politely ask them not to.

Anyone would think the endless banging on about it was a derailing tactic. Perish the thought!

Let's get back to Geordie Lad, who appears to know enough about the ins and outs of trans lingo to use "eggs" in his piss-taking video.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 04/07/2019 09:38

What can I say Roses

We’re a community with an established way of doing things. Stick around, you’ll get the hang of things

RosesAndRaindrops · 04/07/2019 09:34

So Bernard you can see how that is confusing as I've seen someone before be tagged onto a thread they weren't even on and got told along the lines of "off topic, they're not even on this thread"
Think it was called the transitioning males thread or something like that?
But it seems OK for some to do it, but seemingly only by their mates or something, you can see why people get confused lol

OldCrone · 04/07/2019 09:28

Roses
What happened here, as far as I can tell, is that this bloke found a woman on Tinder who he liked the look of, but lost interest when he discovered that 'she' had a penis. He was jumped on by a load of TRAs for 'transphobia', so he retaliated by taking the piss out of some of them. This is quite different from an unprovoked attack on a woman simply because he doesn't like the way she looks. Before he was attacked by TRAS, all he did was say he didn't want sex with someone with a penis. Since he's a straight bloke, this should be obvious. Accusing him of transphobia is like accusing him of homophobia for not wanting sex with another man.

Great summing up of the whole saga, MoleSmokes.

LangCleg · 04/07/2019 09:23

including now a new fake football team, "The EGGS"

Molesmokes - an egg is a slang term in trans circles for a trans person who hasn't come out yet or is in the closet.

I'd missed that bit. Either it's a coincidence or Geordie Lad knows more about all this than he's letting on!

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 04/07/2019 09:20

SnuggyBuggy

Generally convention is that @ is only used as a bat signal to call some one who isn’t there already onto a thread. if they’re already here there’s no need to clog up their inbox, just highlight their name if you want to address them

I have email notifications turned off so it doesn’t really bother me

SnuggyBuggy · 04/07/2019 09:08

Yeah I'm definitely confused by @ and being the socially anxious sort I think I'd rather just avoid it completely

RosesAndRaindrops · 04/07/2019 09:05

My point was you can't expect people not to be confused if you just say "I'm on the thread"
You just need to read back to see there was a few people being confused by it.
As it's not how it's usually used.
I'd certainly never heard of it being used to alert posters to threads they're not even on!

FloralBunting · 04/07/2019 08:57

Oh ffs, no one is expecting a spreadsheet to be kept to know who to @ and who not to. Lang asked not to be as there was no need because she was already on the thread. She was perfectly reasonable about it.

If you're requiring her not to get a bit pissed off when someone ignores her polite request and even starts telling her turn a function off and calling her precious or whatever if she doesn't, then I think genuinely think you're being an entitled prat, and a goady one at that. Lang can be as rude as she likes, especially if someone is being rude to her,and especially if someone keeps telling her she should 'ask nicely' when she bloody well did.

RosesAndRaindrops · 04/07/2019 08:33

It's the snippiness and expecting people to just know that you don't like it -not everyone's going to know who wants to keep it on so they can be @ ed by a select few (but no not by you you're not allowed type thing)
Explaining how you use it instead of expecting people to be mind readers would help...
As there's nothing wrong usually with atting people, it helps people know which bit or who you're referring to/answering or whatever.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 04/07/2019 08:32

@ away

I think the thing to remember is if someone politely asks you to stop, then stop

For most people this is not hard and doesn’t exactly represent 17th century french royal court levels of protocol

SnuggyBuggy · 04/07/2019 08:23

I've been put right off using the @ function as I'll never remember who gets arsey about it

HigaDequasLuoff · 04/07/2019 08:12

@aliasundercover it is not remotely unreasonable to @ people. Don't change your behaviour. It is thoroughly unreasonable for a tiny number of posters to expect hundreds of thousands of mums net users to keep notes of which precious little flowers want special treatment, and refrain from using a standard function.

Using @ to highlight who your reply is to is perfectly standard behaviour.

Anyone who doesn't want the email notifications can switch the notifications off.

Iggypoppie · 03/07/2019 23:58

And yes the fake football club apology and pride flag logo. It's so spot on.
