Rose of Dawn has been tenacious on this.

Outrageous, but not not surprising, eh?

"More than a month after votes closed in a one-candidate election, Eden Ladley has announced she's now the NUS Trans Officer, officially taking over Jess Bradley's position from today.

This comes 11 months since Bradley was suspended. No action was ever taken. Don't forget." t.co/IsHcAvf1Hm

Given the amount of time a criminal investigation could take I guess we'll not hear anything more about this. I hope it doesn't just get quietly dropped by the cps

ChattyLion · 24/08/2019 08:15

Please let’s at least have accurate reporting.

AnyOldPrion · 24/08/2019 07:51

Why did the Private Eye article state she showed her genitals rather than he showed his erect penis?

My preference would be for the correct anatomical terminology, which would be ladypenis.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 22/08/2019 21:22

Private Eye's response was to print the first letter of 'Carter' with an 'F' as well.

Bwhahahaha!

SugarPlumFairyCakes · 22/08/2019 16:36

Thank you - learning something new everyday on Mumsnet!

Saucery · 22/08/2019 16:28

The firm is frequently referred to as 'Carter-Fuck' by the satirical magazine Private Eye. Despite their antagonistic relationship, Carter-Ruck publicly sided with Private Eye when the magazine lost a £600,000 libel case in 1989 against the wife of the Yorkshire Ripper, Sonia Sutcliffe. Founder Peter Carter-Ruck was subsequently invited to attend a Private Eye lunch, and soon afterwards he asked whether the magazine could stop misprinting the first letter of 'Ruck' as an 'F'. Private Eye's response was to print the first letter of 'Carter' with an 'F' as well.[50]

From Wikipedia. PE’s childish insistence on calling them Carter Fuck never fails to amuse Grin

Saucery · 22/08/2019 16:25

PE do tend to play the pronouns game, but the light’s still shone on what the person does.

EverylittleAlps · 22/08/2019 16:22

They are Private Eye regulars - often referred to as Carter-Fuck.

SugarPlumFairyCakes · 22/08/2019 16:21

My eyesight is not good but is the law firm really called Carter Fuck, or is Private Eye having it's own little joke.....

TerfTalk · 22/08/2019 16:15

Very dodgy...

Joisanofthedales · 22/08/2019 16:12

Why did the Private Eye article state she showed her genitals rather than he showed his erect penis?

EverylittleAlps · 22/08/2019 16:07

More sunshine; the external investigation into Jess Bradley is in this week's Private Eye.

Oooh yes. Like asking king Herrod for baby care advice.

Floisme · 02/07/2019 18:54

I don't the government should ever be allowed to forget that they took advice on changing the law from Jess Bradley.

summerofresistance · 02/07/2019 16:38

Dunno, but I found it weird that the Mirror did an article about the NSPCC wanker but only referenced him recording his wanking in hotels on work trips, not in the loos at work, which is much worse IMO.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/07/2019 16:24

Man sized tissues in the loos?

StillLostinEdinburgh · 02/07/2019 16:10

Talking of NSPCC, anybody know what's happened about their staff wanker?

HandsOffMyRights · 01/07/2019 18:14

Rowan, for a site that is painted by Harrop, Islan and others as an inconsequential meeting point for a fringe group of phobic housewives, Mumsnet isn't half influential.

I might add NSPCC and Mermaids to my CV when demonstrating one's ability to spot safeguarding red flags.

Yambabe · 01/07/2019 17:58

I could be wrong, but I thought Eden was in a polyamourous relationship with Bradley and A N Other?

summerofresistance · 01/07/2019 17:49

Bradley's wife is an actual woman, yes, but it seems to have been some kind of marriage of convenience, not a romantic liaison.

R0wantrees · 01/07/2019 17:45

There was also the NUS Trans 18 conference debacle.
Eden Ladley was one of the key organisers of the event.

Eden Ladley name checked Mumsnet in campaigning materials for the NUS Trans Officer position.

Girl wife?

R0wantrees · 01/07/2019 17:37

thread 4 re Jess Bradley's suspension from NUS, OP Popchyk wrote Thu 28-Feb-19

"And an article written by Bradley's estranged wife:

www.sarahmcculloch.com/statement-jess-bradley/

Provides a lot of background and confirms that Action for Trans Health received a report of sexual assault and a further six reports of sexual misconduct of Jess Bradley.

"With ATH and NUS seemingly compromised, there is a third organisation conducting an investigation, the Proud Trust, an LGBT youth charity in Manchester who run the LGBT centre in Sidney Street among other things. I have spoken to them on the phone and they have said there are a number of safeguarding concerns which have been raised and they are receiving disclosures from any individuals who will be treated with confidence and respect, supported if they wanted the police involved but otherwise nothing will happen without the consent of the individuals involved unless they were under 18 at the time as they will have a statutory duty to disclose this".

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/07/2019 17:37

Aren’t they outing themself as trans - I thought that was a Nono these days. Or am I wrong there?

I swear to god, even through I have a teen boy, I will never understand the internal workings of the male brain.
