Fermats but are the rules of play in this sport different between the sexes in terms of creative expression?

What makes this child fight so much to compete under the women and girls categories? Are there stricter rules around outfits for example? Can a male have an elaborate hair style? Could this child compete in a men's category wearing women's clothes?

Not a skating expert Neuro but my understanding is that men can jump higher and thus perform more turns - down to our old friend testosterone and its effects on muscular strength. Won't make a difference now, but in a few years assuming this child doesn't take blockers, and they will be able to perform routines of a level of technical difficulty their female competitors won't be able to touch. The skating equivalent of Yarwood in track and field.

Under the general gist of the whole article, this is perceived as social justice attained.

This is gaslighting and coercion.

Why can't the child wear wonderful outfits as a male? Is there a difference in how skating is done/ marked between the sexes?

They "fought" to be allowed to access girls toilets.

"I'd like people to understand I'm a girl"

Jesus wept. 11 years old.

So girls will be getting pushed out younger and younger and younger.

What's going on at the BBC is propaganda in the hope of shifting society in a progressive direction. In other words, acting completely contrary to their editorial values.

That article is an interesting contrast to a radio programme I heard last night:

www.wnycstudios.org/story/edge

In short, an Afro-French figure skater, Surya Bonaly, seemed to never win at the highest level because of her astonishing ability. There has always been discussion about how her skating wasn't properly feminine, that the competition judges were looking for "graceful ballerina types".
