And which video would that be ?

I like the JHB one where LOJ storms off !

Owen Owen Owen
Maybe it's passed his bedtime

MagneticSingularity · 28/06/2019 23:01

Well the LP is at least consistent in their approach to appointing the least appropriate/qualified person to any given role.

On the plus side it’s pleasing to see that what goes around is coming around very nicely. Very nicely indeed.

TriptychDebbie · 28/06/2019 22:52

Go on OJ. If you do, I promise never to play that video again where someone calls you a wanker Grin

Eaudear · 28/06/2019 22:41

Come on Owen, do it for your Mumsnet pals Grin

Ereshkigal · 28/06/2019 22:39

He'll have a judgement of Solomon take at some point. There is no way he'll be able to resist.

"Because this is exactly what Self I.D. does and why Big Money supports it: it has the potential to destroy ALL protected classes."
Very good point, BickerinBrattle. Very good point.

Eaudear · 28/06/2019 22:38

I'm really enjoying this, that LGBT labour twitter thread is glorious.

LOJ's head will be exploding right now. The prick.

Popchyk · 28/06/2019 22:29

The Labour LGBT+ Twitter feed is hilarious.

They tweeted:

twitter.com/LGBTLabour/status/1144561215768846343

Under no circumstances should someone who is cis and straight be speaking over LGBT+ voices when it comes to our community. This is absolutely disgusting and cannot be allowed to go unchallenged.

"We are supporting Rohit in submitting a complaint and raising this with the Party"

Hundreds of people are making their views known. Grin

BickerinBrattle · 28/06/2019 22:23

Because this is exactly what Self I.D. does and why Big Money supports it: it has the potential to destroy ALL protected classes.

If you can't ring-fence, you can't have a protected class.

Given its name, any member of the Labour Party ought to understand what a CLASS is and should have seen the obvious problem.

Astonishing how misogyny creates blindness. Eye researchers should look into that.

TriptychDebbie · 28/06/2019 22:07

Here you go @SarahTancredi

LangCleg · 28/06/2019 21:59

I can understand LOJ's radio silence. It's a dilemma for him. Does he side with the BME LGBT male (maximum points!)? I'm sure he wants to. But he would then have to admit that Self-ID can be and is being used by those who may not actually identify as they say they do. That people LIE. And that would be contradicting everything he's claimed for Self-ID to date.

He'll have a judgement of Solomon take at some point. There is no way he'll be able to resist.

I'm hoping it will be glorious and his best to date.

SarahTancredi · 28/06/2019 21:53

You cant tell us that the not link

I've posted a link to Karma Police by Radiohead Grin

CatalogueUniverse · 28/06/2019 21:51

I’m sorry, but did the loser just assume the winners gender?

For all the loser knows the winner is a woman. And in a lesbian relationship. I can’t believe that a Labour Party member is potentially misgenderjng someone all over the Internet.

CaveMum · 28/06/2019 21:49

Personally I have been leaving Alanis Morrisette gifs all over Twitter threads bemoaning this story 😜

Fucking brilliant, isn't it? Grin

(And this of course also applies to the usual bunch of arsewipes who would otherwise be furiously tweeting on this matter. We know who they are.)

CassianAndor · 28/06/2019 21:27

Yes, Rohit. It beholds you to ensure that being gay is inclusive of straight people. Amirite?

Hoist by the inclusivity petard. Bound to happen sooner or later.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 28/06/2019 21:23

The winner may just be identifying as LGBT. After all, if it's OK for a male teenager to serve as Women's Officer because they identify as a woman, then surely it's fine for LGBT Officer to identify as being LGBT. Expecting him to actually be LGBT is so last year.

And, coming at it from another angle, if this het man says he's a lesbian he's immediately not just LGBT but he can stay with his current female partner too.

IfIShouldFallFromGraceWithGod · 28/06/2019 21:19

Straight people are gay
White people are black
Normal is deviant

boatyardblues · 28/06/2019 21:18

This one tickled me.

"[T]here are publicly and privately expressed concerns that one of the new self-identifying officers has not been sincere about their identification."

Impossible! Get Layla Moran to check the man's soul, you phobic bigots.

TriptychDebbie · 28/06/2019 21:16

The Twitter feed is glorious. It was a pleasure leaving comments Grin

Ain't Karma a bitch...

Maduixa · 28/06/2019 21:10

Came across this on GayStar News: www.gaystarnews.com/article/london-gay-man-loses-lgbt-officer-role-in-labour-party-to-a-straight-man/#gs.m4h507

They interviewed Rohit Dasgupta, and rehashed the twitter thread - of course excising any mention of Dasgupta's alleged misogyny/TERFsaying or of people's questions/comments comparing the situation to the issues with the Women's Officer positions.

Dasgupta allegedly "felt like some colleagues in the Labour party was (sic) critical of his views on education". He and his allies seem to be seems to be claiming the person who beat him (still unnamed) may have been working with anti-RSE protesters, but GayStar says they found no evidence of this. They've invited the person to comment.

Dasgupta DOES say he was suspicious of his opponent since that person had only recently been part of Labour LGBTQIA+ groups, and he wanted to know the person's sexuality/identity but of course it was wrong to ask. But apparently someone else DID ask, and "He allegedly responded: ‘This isn’t about LGBT, this is about everything being inclusive.’ "

So - Dasgupta presumably does NOT know that this person is "str8".

dontdoxmeeither · 28/06/2019 20:39

The comments on all Twitter feeds relating to this are just....just FUCKING GLORIOUS 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
