I live no where near London, but it'd be great if they got a big turn out!

Apart from the NT incident any news on how the day went?

Does anyone know if any filming took place inside? Would be very curious to know what went on, unlike many I was not happy about the Ofsted woman's speech and would like to know what followed.

LizzieSiddal · 05/07/2019 19:47

The police were called? Why?

NeurotrashWarrior · 05/07/2019 19:22

morningtoncrescent62 · 05/07/2019 19:22

Ah chairs. Well they deserve everything they get then

I know it's chilling, sinister, horrifying and all the rest of it, but this did make me laugh out loud. Sometimes you have to.

terfsandwich · 05/07/2019 19:18

This is chilling. When in history have people been refused service because of their perceived inferiority to the status quo?
Hmm

The bar that apparently objects to lesbians is The Green Room at the National Theatre.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 05/07/2019 18:51

They can kick random people out, they can’t kick out a group identified by their protected characteristic because they have identified their protected characteristic.

TurboTeddy · 05/07/2019 18:36

If the dictionary definition of a lesbian offendeds the woke stasi then that sounds like they don't really believe TWAW. How very transphobic of them.

MsMcWibble · 05/07/2019 18:31

I know that bars can kick people out randomly if they want, but not so sure they can actually say it is because they are lesbians who are stating their boundaries - surely that can't stand?

Aspley · 05/07/2019 18:20

How can the bar possibly justify this?
Blatant open discrimination against a lesbian.
I hope the police told them where to shove their complaints - Anne should prosecute the bar in retaliation.

Ah chairs. Well they deserve everything they get then Grin

MsMcWibble · 05/07/2019 18:05

I believe the bar at the National theatre called them.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 05/07/2019 18:04

Who called the police? The lesbians for blatant discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation? Or some woke student because the word ‘lesbian’ makes them feel unsafe?

MsMcWibble · 05/07/2019 18:03

To be fair - they were sitting on chairs!

MsMcWibble · 05/07/2019 18:02

Yes - it was Anne ruyzlo [sp?] in a dictionary definition T. I believe Joani Walsh is on the case. Still seems ongoing.

FormerMediocreMale · 05/07/2019 18:00

What!? An MP can wear a t-shirt inviting people to pee next to them but lesbian t-shirts a barred? Do they have a dress code? Who called the police?

Aspley · 05/07/2019 17:59

The media need to pick this up.
Was this a "lesbian = female homosexual" t-shirt?
Any more details?
Have the police been called against lesbians again?

MsMcWibble · 05/07/2019 17:54

Sorry to interrupt - don't know if you are all aware - the protesters have been kicked out of the bar at the National Theatre because of a 'lesbian' t shirt. Now the police have been called.

NeurotrashWarrior · 05/07/2019 17:48

Ooh thanks Ro.

This bit:

*I spoke recently about the challenges children face in this new ‘if you’re not with me, you’re against me’ age: where there is a lack of tolerance of divergent views and where this intolerance is entrenched in the echo chamber of social media.

I stand by the solution that I suggested then: arm our children with knowledge. Teach them well. Prepare them for a modern world, in which many people will try to tell them what to think, by giving them the knowledge to contextualise those arguments and the skills to express their own views and put them into action.*

Teach critical thinking...

Aspley · 05/07/2019 17:32

"Many of the other rights are stoutly defended, just as Stonewall defends LGBT rights."

Yeah, maybe, well, not so much any more.
They have redefined lesbian and gay to be same gender attraction. They have said nothing about the whistle blowers at the Tavistock stating that homosexual kids (particularly lesbians) are being pressured to be trans.
Stonewall no longer represent homosexuals.

FormerMediocreMale · 05/07/2019 16:42

I'm In addition this is one speech in a wider context of less moderated speeches. Those other speeches going into the detail of a child's right to be trans and to be affirmed, medicated...
