Can't do a link, but it's a cup company called ultucup. It's quite hilarious- women have been responding to their tweet about menstruators, and whoever is in charge of the company twitter account keeps laughing at them, posting gifs of Taylor Swift 'Haters gonna hate" lol laughing smiley. It's quite enjoyable to watch.

Grabthars that is genius!

GoulashSoup · 20/06/2019 21:04

Ultracup have made the best advert for tampons I’ve ever seen!

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 20/06/2019 21:02

There ya go, best I could do with stock photos. Might start doing this every time one of these insane ads comes out.

Menstruators lol pmsl etc.
JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 20/06/2019 20:43

Who are they actually marketing this at?

How many transmen are likely to a) menstruate, b) want to use a period cup, c) agree that not only women menstruate and d) like this exceptionally hostile PR over the numerous other period cup companies?

Eaudear · 20/06/2019 20:39

Brilliant! ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving

Eaudear · 20/06/2019 20:36

I mean the word woman is still there, you're still a woman and you don't have to apply menstruator to yourself

Well, actually yes you kind of do when linking periods with womanhood is deemed offensive.

MrsOnions · 20/06/2019 20:34

I used a gender neutral toilet for the first time yesterday and I wouldn’t fancy trying to empty one of those out in the minuscule sinks. Which were in the communal area outside the cubicles anyway. Absolute fucking nonsense.

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 20/06/2019 20:29

Condom sales maybe LimeKiwi? I can see the adverts now:

"We at Jizzlingsâ„¢ support all ejaculators in their quest to penetrate front holes without the risk of fertilising a bleeder*. Because not all ejaculators are male, and not all who are male ejaculate.

Jizzlingsâ„¢ - the best an ejaculator can get.

LimeKiwi · 20/06/2019 19:43

Trying to think of an example where "ejaculator" would be a comparison like someone said.
Can't think of one so not sure why that would be a comparison and why they would need to say that in a situation like menstruators would accommodate transmen.
I mean the word woman is still there, you're still a woman and you don't have to apply menstruator to yourself, I'm going to still call myself a woman and trans men can crack on and call themselves what they like Grin

misscockerspaniel · 20/06/2019 19:38

What is the male equivalent of menstruators?

Wankers.

MenuPlant · 20/06/2019 19:29

Menstruators wont be out

Women and girls having words that are easily understood and that reflect our experience is of no importance

It's about dehumanisation and all from a very male perspective

Eg vagina is only the front hole if you're only counting holes a man can put his cock in

Eaudear · 20/06/2019 19:21

The problem is, if 'menstruators' is out (and let's be honest it won't be if its only people outside the 'trans umbrella' pointing out that it doesn't include everyone) then that does still leave 'bleeders'....

I loved that Twitter hashtag a few months back where everyone replaced 'woman' in song lyrics with 'menstruator'!

MenuPlant · 20/06/2019 19:03

This is not about anything except dehumanising women and girls.

Have school boys been referred to as ejaculators yet?

MenuPlant · 20/06/2019 19:01

No exactly eaudear

It is a label that fails when it is looking at the actual lives of girls and women

Periods are not regular, we don't know when they start, or when they stop, many life events can disrupt or stop them, then they come back, and we don't know which one is the last one until ages after, can go months with none then have 1

Eaudear · 20/06/2019 18:49

On the pill, withdrawal bleed is not same as menstruation afaik

Good point. So if you are on the pill and need to use a cup for your 'period' you're not technically actually a 'menstruator'.

Not very inclusive is it Ultucup? Shock

Eaudear · 20/06/2019 18:47

Women menstruate. Only women. If you are menstruating you are a woman, however you feel about it.

You can identify however you want.

I find 'menstruators' and even worse fucking 'bleeders' so dehumanising, I absolutely hate it but I am just one of those awful saggy titted cis women, so how I feel about this stuff doesn't matter one shite.

MenuPlant · 20/06/2019 18:45

The menstruators thing doesnt even work

Girls don't know when their first period will come
We don't menstruate when pregnant except when we do
Breastfeeding again is?
On the pill, withdrawal bleed is not same as menstruation afaik
Weight loss and some drugs can stop them
Menipause, is this last one? Yes, no. Maybe?

So who's a menstruatior then. We often only know we are one for sure while it's actually happening!

LimeKiwi · 20/06/2019 18:38

"Because not all those who menstruate identify as women."
So that means they're being inclusive for trans men then who don't identify as female.
They'll still menstruate too but identify as male at the same time.
Isn't that a good thing that they're accepting of them too?

JessicaWakefieldSV · 20/06/2019 07:38

Menstrual cup company owned by a man in Canada. Sounds about right.

Datun · 20/06/2019 01:49

Give them what they want - only those who identify as menstruators buy their product.

Idiots.

And I sincerely hope everyone starts using ejaculators too. Especially when talking about sex based rights.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 19/06/2019 23:54

Somebody mentioned menstruators? Actually somebody pointed out to them that if they're aiming for transmen, once they start T they will soon have to have a hysterectomy and won't even need menstrual products.

FreeFreesia · 19/06/2019 21:42

Offers Fermats a prawn sarnie.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/06/2019 21:39

It's a peculiar sales tactic, that's for sure!

Take entire market and decimate it to cater for the minuscule segment that care about this bullshit and focus your entire strategy on them, whilst actively, deliberately alienating the biggest, likely wealthiest, highly influential segment.

Hmmm...

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 19/06/2019 21:23

The thing is, if we do what they seem to want, relabel every product, rewrite every for "people who menstruate/ have a uterus/ can get pregnant", that STILL excludes TW just more obviously! They can twist the word woman to believe it somehow applies to them if they squint hard enough, but this bonkers "menstrautor" stuff is a) insulting b) dehumanising c) actually reduces us to our biology, and d) reunite us with TM whilst 100% excluding TW and reminding them that they don't have female biology. It is literally reminding them they are excluded from the group they want to be in because of our biology. Madness!

FermatsTheorem · 19/06/2019 20:13

I prefer the term "little bleeder" myself (preferably shouted in the context of bloke in cloth cap who's just had his cold frame smashed by some kids' football -" I'll fucking murder you when I get my hands on you, you little bleeders")

Do you think someone should tell her about Gerald Ratner?
