Just wanted to pop on to say hello and thanks for the likes and shares of our letter/Twitter/Facebook page. It's been mentioned through various threads over the last few days. Not sure how I can prove we am real and not a "fake account" as so many of our friends on Twitter are accusing us of but I personally go so far back on MN I remember Aitch and her BWL blog, a mile for Maud and latterly "cancel the cheque". There are lots of us SSA members on here but we thought it was worth having our our MN account. Get in touch via twitter, FB or email if you want to be more involved. We will be sharing more on here as we get more active.

Has Munroe Bergdorf convinced the BBC that SSA UK was set up to be 'against Munroe' ?

Excellent, thank you for introducing yourself. Great letter.
I’m very interested from a school governor point of view but don’t engage with this on fb or social media.
Keep us up to date on here and I’m very pleased to see you so active.

Regular namechanger here and frequenter of this board and MN for 10++ years)

I wondered if anyone is going to dismantle mimmymum's attempt to discredit and paint your organisation (and virtually any woman-supporting Twitter accounts) as sinister, shadowy collections of faceless droids who just harbour unkind feelings about trans people rather than intelligent women who are horrified at what is happening around us in the name of Trans 'rights'?

Everyone is oohing and aahing at their 'analysis' and are seemingly very impressed with coloured-in Venn diagrams. Apparently we are not real supporters of Women because we don't all follow the NSPCC Twitter account - HA HA HA! Have they NO idea why that might be?

Keep up the good work. I've no idea how this insanity will resolve itself in the coming years but we definitely have a battle on our hands.

dianebrewster · 11/06/2019 10:04

Well done - the letter was brilliant - I've sent a message via FB Smile

Safeschoolsallianceuk · 11/06/2019 09:55

Sorry I missed the second page.

Barracker - I miss her roundup! I was in it once, was so proud! Please tell me Aitch is with us on this.

misscockerspaniel - sorry I missed your message first time. Send me a PM on on here or message us through the FB page or send us an email. We are trying to grow but also have to figure out how to do it safely but please get in touch.

RoyalCorgi - yes we have decided to ignore it all. Pointless waste of energy. We have been around for ages, just not under this name.

Thanks everyone, we were pretty pleased with our our first letter went. We have local groups challenging the Allsorts toolkit in several LEAs and lots of other people carrying out other challenges to schools and MAT. We have had some success so we will be updating on that soon. And we have loads more planned and will be calling on the power of MN to help us share and challenge. We are trying to build our membership but trying to figure out how to do it safely is a challenge so more on that soon but if anyone wants to get more actively involved please message us. We might not get back to you straight away but we won't forget you!

Thanks for the kind words and the encouragement.

I've seen some of the tweets accusing the Safe Schools Alliance of being a hastily-cobbled together transphobic front organisation. It's beyond tedious. But it's part of the TRA modus operandi - they don't tackle the meat of the issue (ie the reasons why Bergdorf is an unsuitable ambassador for Childline) but go straight to attacking the messenger.

misscockerspaniel · 11/06/2019 09:12

How does Safe Schools Alliance work? Do you have groups around the country? Can MNetters set up a group in their area?

HandsOffMyRights · 11/06/2019 08:25

Brilliant work. As the parent of a child at a Stonewall Champion School, we need you!

Sunkisses · 11/06/2019 07:31

Safe Schools Alliance could be absolutely pivotal in getting parents and governors roused and active, and kicking this ideology out of schools. Thanks for getting it all started

BeUpStanding · 11/06/2019 07:22

Great work! That is an excellent letter and it's always brilliant to learn about women getting together and getting active. Hurrah to you all!

Oldstyle · 11/06/2019 00:06

Only active for a week and you've already got the NSPCC to revoke an appalling celebrity appointment. Way to go!

TheBullshitGoesOn · 10/06/2019 23:32

Glad to see you here Safe Schools Alliance.

Congratulations on the letter.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 10/06/2019 23:17

Congratulations with the letter and very glad to hear another fantastic group of women have got together to make a difference

Barracker · 10/06/2019 23:13

Omg
I swear I only had one glass of wine.
I blame my eighties comprehensive school education.
They never taught me sentence structure or basic grammar.
Don't blame me.

LangCleg · 10/06/2019 23:12

So Barracker, I hear you weaned Aitch's baby?

I heard that too.

TheInebriati · 10/06/2019 23:08

So Barracker, I hear you weaned Aitch's baby? Grin

SexPayGap · 10/06/2019 23:05

The letter was great- thank you for doing that.

Barracker · 10/06/2019 22:37

Realised I just made it sound like I am Aitch.
Awks.
I am not Aitch.
Just a fan.
I am a person who hung off Aitch's weekly roundup and weaned her baby at the same time.
Aitch is still awesome.
As are the Safe Schools Alliance.
I shall stop now.
Carry on.

Beautifulday49 · 10/06/2019 22:27

You women are awesome x

Barracker · 10/06/2019 22:23

Loving your work.
Have already recommended you to a chair of governors
Aitch is still as awesome as she ever was.
I had another name back then.

OhHolyJesus · 10/06/2019 22:15
